First of all, proper acknowledgment must be paid to the fact that this is a full-on legit, Japanese-style ramen-ya in Seattle. By this, I mean that it has a tight counter and spartan two-tops with a bundle of chopsticks, ramen pepper and la-yu on the table when you sit down. They specialize in ramen and its common izakaya-style accompaniments and little else. They make no pretentions to any pan-Asian/fusion flavor. They use quality noodles and broth, not the notch-above-instant-ramen type ingredients you often find at places where ramen shares the spotlight with teriyaki, sushi, and pad thai. This is a straight-up ramen joint that you might find on an Osaka side street. They do a good job on the ramen-ya fundamentals: miso, shio, shoyu, and curry ramens are all solid, and the gyoza comes stuck together by pan-searing as it should be. They offer a extra noodle and extra pork paid options and they didnt bat an eye at my request for extra garlic. My flavor rating spectrum is: 10=Ramen Jiro in Tokyos Mita district which has a line going down the block at lunchtime. 6=Typical Japanese ramen-ya. 5=Forgettable Japanese train station ramen. 2=Top Ramen. 1=Cup ONoodle. On this scale, Aloha rates a 6.5. IMO it on par with the reputable ramen-yas in Los Angeles, and Im thrilled to have such a place within convenient distance of my home. A couple other reviewers have said that Aloha adds a Hawaiian twist, and I found that only true to the extent that they have items like kalua pork ramen and Hawaiian drink on the menu. Hawaiian influence isnt infused in the staple ramens or side dishes. I found the chicken kara-age to be particularly flavorful and very generous in portion.

Ive been able to find good street parking on N Vendome Street. Came here at 1:30PM on a Monday afternoon and the place was fairly filled but still had a couple of open spots. I ordered the tsukemen (dipping ramen) this time. The broth was heavy as usual per dipping ramen but lighter/less fatty than tsujitas if you want a comparison. The noodle is comparable to tsujitas, which means its good noodles. They give a lot more vegetable (seaweed, spinach, beansprouts) here, which either I dont think it goes well with the meal or I ate it wrong. They gave 4 pieces of delicious, perfectly cooked pork belly, which is a nice alternative to cha shiu. They need to work on the soft boiled egg though, which is average at best. TLDR: The price is a cheaper ($12.50) than tsujitas cha shiu tsukemen ($15). I would it deem it a solid alternative if you want a less heavy dipping ramen for a cheaper price.Aloha Ramen Japanese Noodle is best.

Went there on a chilly Thursday night for some ramen to warm us up. There was a little bit of a wait at 6:30 but as expected since the place is pretty small. My husband and I ordered the ono ramen, spicy garlic miso vegetarian ramen, and added gyoza and pork fried rice as a combo. The gyoza came first and they were very good. Very meaty and the skin was not too thick. The ramen came next. Portions were food and they were delicious. The soup for my ono ramen was a bit thicker than I expected but it tasted good so no complain there. The fried rice came last. It was much bigger than I expected considering its only a $4 add on. The fried rice was amazing! Tons of pork and so garlicky! Staff was super friendly and diligent, even when it was busy. Well definitely be back! P.S. This place is NOT good for groups, best for 2 people, 4 is pushing it.

Wed seen lines out the door multiple times after this place opened. Today we thought wed try ramen for the first time and went in thinking wed get take out. WARNING: THERE IS NO TAKE OUT . What there is: a pleasant and competent staff, relatively fast service, and an incredibly tasty meal. My husband tried the garlic chicken fried rice and I tried the Tan Tan Ramen. My ramen was flavorful and spicy - just the right amount of heat. The garlic rice was incredible! It rides that sweet line between garlic and too much garlic, plus it was a generous portion. We paid the 50 cents for a container to take home the leftovers. We were very pleasantly surprised by the whole experience and are already anticipating making this a regular spot.

Awesome noodle joint. If youve had Sai Min in Hawaii youve probably been to a place like this. They have 25-30 different combinations over delicious noodles on soup. Weve had several different types and all have been terrific. My favorite so far is the Curry Katsu. They have a number of side items to go with the noodle soup. Havent tried them all but the Garlic fried rice was delicious. Great value for the money. Great service and plenty of parking. Amazing how a bowl of noodles can fill you up but with all the extras they add its no wonder. Words got out though so be prepared to wait for a table if you come during the peak meal times.

I am by no means a ramen connoisseur, and am a vegetarian. Im happy that most of the ramens have the veggie broth option. And I like tofu just fine; however, sometimes tofu in soup (ie not fried) is goopy and not so good. This is great! I love the broth, love the noodles, love the veggies and tofu--whats not to like? Im not a big eater, so always plan on taking half home; either I bring my own container or gladly pay for one (they tell you upfront, dont be a baby!). I understand their kitchen just cant handle take outs, so deal with it... (But I love gyoza and sure wish they had a veggie option on that...oh well...)

I ordered the Ono Ramen, which is a miso ramen. The broth was a bit creamier than I usually like but it was very flavorful. I did not enjoy the noodles very much. My favorite noodles are Samurai Noodle and my favorite broth is at Kukai. The gyoza is really good. I wouldnt say its the best because there are plenty of places that make really good gyoza. Id eat at Aloha Ramen again if Im in the area. Service is very kind and quick. This venue is small, can seat maybe 25 people and a line forms quickly during peak dining times.

Came with family of 5 - we ordered too much food I ordered Tan Tan. Soup flavor was ok but pork and egg was cold in three of five bowls of ramen (other two got chicken). When we asked for to go carton to take home fried rice they charged us extra for the container! Was shocked seeing their prices are not extraordinary cheap - seems like they could build that into costs. Waiter was friendly but not enough to counter cold food and nickel and dime practices. Not returning.

While I was hoping to become a big fan of Aloha Ramen - I just cant. Due to the way the parking lot is, unless the lot is pretty much empty there is just no wheelchair access to their space (difficult to squeeze between cars). The ramen I had was tasty, but the garlic fried rice has astringent burned garlic in it, not a great flavor. Sadly, unless they move or somehow create better access (move the cement parking guides?) I dont think Ill be back.
