Excellent vegetarian ramen shop. The owner is Chinese, so its a slightly different take than the standard Japanese ramen spots in the area. The departures from standards are done in good taste and the results are truly scrumptious. The execution is excellent and even though its vegetarian, it doesnt focus on weird fake meats, or vegan obscurities that non-vegans wince at. This is a restaurant that prepares excellent plant-based meals with fresh ingredients and bold flavors. All Ive had so far is JaaJaa men (twice). Its soupless but there is a thick gravy-like sauce in the bottom of the bowl. The noodles form a bed over the sauce, and a generous serving of different individually-prepared vegetables--not unlike the banchan youd find in a Korean restaurant--is arranged on top in neatly organized portions. If you like eating meals that consist largely of fresh vegetables prepared with the kind of care that vegetarian knows, and youre not into settling for bland flavors this restaurant is here to help you.Arashi Ramen is best.

Excited to check out this place today, there was even a line to get in. I got the Shoyu Ramen. Have to say, overall, felt quite disappointed. The broth didnt have any flavor, the noodles were flat--texture and flavor wise. On the good side, the chashu pork was cooked very well--very tender, flavorful and just the right amount of fat. Was quite surprised at how flavorless and flat the overall ramen was. I hope they can improve because Im in this neighborhood all the time and it would be great to have a good place to go to. As it is today, i dont think Ill come back. But Im sure my friends will want to try it in the next few weeks because this place just opened...so hopefully, I can write a better review.

Eh. Spicy tan tan men, chashu pork, seasoned egg, bamboo shoots. Pros: noodles were excellent and so was the gyoza I hate having to write a bad review on something I love eating. I lived in Okinawa JP for 4 years and remember what this was supposed to taste like and the letdown was REAL. The broth was really sweet and I think that was due to the ground pork. The bamboo shoot texture was fine but the taste was like something straight out of a jar. Overall I was disappointed but I guess this place just isnt for me. The service was awesome though. Too bad about the ramen. Also they should do less broth and more noodles.

Ramen is above average. Service has been terrible on 3+ occasions. Last time we had to ask for the check 3 times before they brought it, then had to get a pen ourselves from their counter to sign. This time our entree dishes were brought out 20 minutes apart and they still charged us full price. We will NOT be going back. The ramen is not worth the frustration.

Decent ramen joint with flavourful fatty cuts of meat and consistent quality. (Perhaps a touch on the salty side but that may be just my preference.) Unfortunate standard pricing and standard decor/seating; nothing terribly memorable about the place. Still, they serve a passing grade bowl of noodles so its worth stopping in if youre in that mood and in the area.

Didnt quite impress for some of the good reviews I read. The Karaage is a poor fry that comes with a soft, soggy, underseasoned batter that is then oversauced. The Black Garlic Ramen was good enough, but I just didnt see how it separated itself from the other Ramen restaurants in the West neighborhoods of Fremont, Wallingford, and Ballard.

Very rude employees my children dont eat that food and we were meeting my son for dinner and so I bought them some fast food but we got the drink at arashi and they would not allow my kids to eat outside food so will not be going back there and the noodles I got were not cooked all the way!

After 5 years in Japan and 2 years in Seattle suffering through the black hole of terrible, horrific Ramen, Ive finally found a place that gets it right! Soup and noodles both! Complete with a wizened head chef I can chat with in nihongo. Id post a pic of my empty bowl if I could.

One of the best ramens Ive tried in the Seattle area. Tried the black garlic and spicy miso. Broth, meat, egg, and noodles were all pretty good quality. The interior styling also shoots for a more authentic feel. This level of quality is nearly as good as it gets in America.

So. Good. A bit small but Ive been here three days in a row since I discovered this place, amazing ramen and amazing staff. Prices are decent and 100% worth it. Seriously, its amazing. They have a kids menu that teaches you how to do origami which my little sister loved :)

I had been craving great ramen since returning from Tokyo and Arashi has the genuine article. The spicy miso tonkatsu comes in mild, hot, or super hot and the hot is spot on for me - enough to make my nose run but still allow me it enjoy my lunch. Highly recommended.

This place is so good. There is street parking that isnt too bad during the week. The restaurant was nice and small with a cool environment. The service was fast and prices were good. Above all though, the food was wonderful. Lots of flavor all in a perfect portion.

Couldnt hold a candle to Kizuki. The ramen is too el dente, and has less topping than Kizuki. The famous Japanese style egg comes in half, and not as tasty as Kizukis. Good for the drunks, but if seeking for a good Japanese ramen bowl, you may be disappointed.

Disappointing. Honey Garlic Ricebowl is described as served with mixed vegetables, but you only get a few lettuce leaves. Dish was 90% dry white rice. Spicy Miso Ramen was also disappointing... no meat could be found. Overall, overpriced and huge let-down.

Enjoyed the ramen but need to try more menu items to rate higher. My broth was a little over salted the first time, then better the second time around. Noodles were okay and pork was good. Egg was perfect. No runny white and partially runny yolk yum.

I am in love with Arashi. Every ramen bowl on the menu is amazing. The fried chicken is to die for. That honey glaze!!! Oh man, so good. The service is super quick and the staff is very kind. I am so excited to have this place in my neighborhood.

Im not a ramen connoisseur by any means, but this stuff is delicious. I got the salt broth which is bursting with dat umami we all crave. The egg was perfectly cooked and the noodles were soft and a little chewy (the way they should be imo!)

非常道地的一家日式拉麵店,空間雖然有點小,但是服務蠻不錯的,拉麵選項也很多元,味道非常不錯

I called ahead of time to check if they were busy, as my lunch break is limited. Service was quick, and the staff were very friendly. Ive only had the black garlic ramen, and found it just right in flavor.

This is a fun place to sit down and have a really delicious bowl of savory ramen. Ive only had the black garlic ramen, as I always mean to order something else, but its just too good to not get.

Above average ramen, but also on the pricier side compared to other ramen shops in the Seattle area. Given the lack of ramen choices in this block of Ballard though, probably to be expected.

Toppings are a pretty skimpy for the price. I got the creamy veggie, with medium spice added. Delicious. I do with they would remove the fish from the broth for the vegitarian and vegans
