I was sitting here writing a 1-star review because I was crazy disappointed, but then my latte FINALLY came (20 minutes later. Im telling you. I looked at the time.) and it was really good. The food would have been good if the girl had offered to warm it for me--as it was it was hard and cold and about 1% as good as it would have been warm. She just seemed so flustered when she was ringing me up. She said "ugh! I have to do dishes." I guess the dishes are more important than me... Anyway, luckily I had 20 minutes to wait. It was so busy when I got there that there were exactly zero places to sit. So I stood and ate my appletauche, until some people left. They didnt bus their table though so I did it for them--so I could sit down. There is obviously enough business here to pay for someone watching the lobby to do that so your customers dont have to. Im fine with bussing my own table, and I know its bit your fault that your duchebag customers dont bus their own, but it is a cheap owners fault that theyre shorthanded. Regardless, I had ordered a "16 oz whole milk latte in a mug" so as to not waste a cup. When the barista called-out a "grande latte" in a paper cup I wasnt going to take it--it didnt sound like what I had ordered. She looked at me disdainfully and asked what I ordered and I told her. She said that was my drink and she would pour it into a mug if I wanted. Goodness sakes people. With all your signs around about recycling youd think youd pay attention when someone orders something in a mug? I guess someone along the way could have told me that "16oz whole milk latte" translates to "grande latte" at this coffee shop, but they seemed happier just being jerks. Ok guys, go ahead and be jerks to other people. Id rather go to starbucks (I hate starbucks).

My favorite place in Seattle. Ive been coming here since they opened. Its always been a very family friendly place and the staff is very helpful. You can bring kids but its also a good place to bring your laptop and do some homework. I drove today from Tacoma and the smells and comfort of this place always makes my day. Today I tried the almond croissant, bienenstitch, bavarian pretzel and rugelach. All of them are moist and delicious. For my drink, I ordered the Morning Glory chai. This is the only place Ive seen that serves that brand of chai and its very authentic tasting. Theres a little play area for kids. The restroom is clean and has a changing table. They have a bakery that you can preorder from for events. I once ordered my kids frosted heart cookies with their names on them for Valentines day. Last but not least, I never leave without bringing home a focaccia olive bread.

Saw the reviews and decided to try this place out. I ordered a bacon breakfast sandwich that was put in the microwave in the front. Once it came out to me I took one bite and it was still very cold in the middle. I returned it to the counter and they took it to the side, where the bakery was, and it was over there longer than it was in the microwave. They bring it back to me, same sandwich with the bite in it and everything. It was absolutely toasted, biscuit was dry, the egg was dry. I am very disappointed in the quality and service, I wont be going here again.

The Klatsch is a weird combination of German bakery, neighborhood family hot spot, and Seattle coffee. While It can be a little toasty inside, especially in the summer months, the blechkuchen is worth the wait. Coffee varies a bit by barista, but remains high quality. Plus theres cold brew on tap. I believe they use True North beans. I do wish they stayed open later, as there isnt a nearby option for a post dinner cuppa and comfort, but morning comes super early for bakers. ;)

Decided to try this place based on great reviews and my fondness for German pastry. While waiting in the long cheerful line of customers I noticed the pastry case had a swarm of fruit flies. Im not talkin about a rogue fly...there were hundreds on the inside of the case. It could have been an anomaly, but after several months I just cant bring myself to try again.

I love the buttermilk biscuits! Lots of authentic German baked goods, and some stuff for meals, too. This is such a cute place and its right in the heart of Lake City. A moderate walk from the Burke Gilman. The coffee is also great (the mocha has a great balance of flavors!) and the atmosphere is nice for working or just leisure. Easily accesible by the 522 as well!

Excellent food, incredible location for busing, all right service, and all right coffee. Great supporter of local businesses and the Lake City District, and the German Word Of the Day is always fun. That said, the interior is LOUD and echoy with the concrete floor. Hard to hear your friend unless you speak very loud. I often dont go here because of that alone.

Came here on my first day in Seattle, had some coffee and beef stew, stew was great but the bread that came with it was amazing, some of the best Ive had in years! Ive been back several times since and their coffee is always great and all their food items are legitimately delicious! So many dishes I look forward to trying!

This a nice little cafe in Lake City. If you are looking for good pastries this is the place to visit. They make all their bread and pastries by hand. My go to options are the blondie and lake city way cookies. They make a decent cup of coffee, their nirto cold brew is always a good option or a mocha.

A Lake City gem. My whole family loves this place. Spacious but warm. Friendly service. Good baristas. Delicious food--most (if not all) of which is made/baked in-house--with lots of traditional German treats. They just started serving soup. My 2-year old loves the little kids section.

A fun and casual place for coffee and fresh pastries with a German theme. Really friendly staff. A bit noisy sometimes but a great place to watch people walking by through the big windows. Lots of natural light too.

It is a touch of Germany with a contemporary spin. It offers a welcoming, friendly environment. I live in Federal Way and came up this way for an appointment but I can see coming up here just for the coffee.

The place isnt very nice to sit and coffee at - just too cold and un-cozy. The coffee was average and slow to be made. The pastry I had was good though, like an A-, but that isnt enough for me to come back.

Great coffee and house made breads and light snacks. The fresh pressed OJ is a great deal. Pretzels are exactly as I remember eating in Germany, with thin, hard "arms" and a full, split bagel-like bottom.
