The end product was/is good. I am vegetarian (which for this place is no problem) but recently became lactose intolerant and this is a HUGE problem for this place. There is a vegetarian sandwich that is really good. Ive eaten there twice and Ive had the cream cheese replaced with egg and had a little mustard for holding the thing together when eaten but getting to that point was an arduous process for both my boyfriend who ordered when we first went there and when I went there a second time alone. If you dont like cream cheese or cant eat it good-luck trying to get breakfast in this part of town or stopping in with friends. When you first walk in they give you a sheet but if the sheet doesnt match their expectation like you filled in a beagle that the sandwich doesnt normally come with the lady at the register will ask you a million questions. Then the cook will ask the same questions. It was a bit weird how many comments I received about it not being as good without cream cheese or the right beagle (the beagle had cheese on it) but it was! I was prompted to review today because I just walked in this morning before work and looked at her asked her if I they had anything without cream cheese and she just said no. I started to remember that great sandwich but then I also remembered the hassle and walked out. Maybe reviewing them publicly will hint at a new menu item Seriously charge me a $1 for hummus or $2 for just not putting cream cheese on it and I will give you all my money, like everyday. Not to mention they are in the right area. There is a vegan grocery store and two vegan restaurants with in a block of the store, just none of them are open for breakfast. Just shame, good eats just not the most friendly environment.

The food is absolutely delicious and the staff were so friendly ! While we were waiting for our food they gave us personal samples of their homemade cream cheeses with are a must have! Try one of their flavored cream cheese on your bagel sandwich or bagel dog. We also got to sample some brownies which were also amazing, made thick and moist. We told the staff we were visiting from the east coast and they chatted with us for quite some time and then gave us free bagels to go for our trip back. Which we tried to pay them for but they refused, they were the nicest, most friendly people Ive met on the west coast. By far best expirence Ive had in Seattle and made our vacation 100% better. We will be coming back here in the future and highly recommend to all! Fat ducks is the best!

Jacqueline (hope I spelled her name right) is wonderful! She quickly welcomed me to the deli and walked me through the sandwich ordering process. She even had suggestions for how to make the sandwich I wanted even better. Her homemade shmeres are incredible!! I couldnt pick a favorite even after sampling each flavor. The roastbeef duck was so filling I couldnt even finish it or partake in any of the mouthwatering dessert options, but she gave me a couple chocolates to go. I will definately be back to try some sweets and more of the sandwiches

So AMAZING! Best customer service! Thank You for being so nice to us. We came here for lunch and got juices and sandwiches but couldnt help but notice the gelato. So we were given scoops of the gelato and couldnt believe it! We are so thankful to them for giving us such a nice treat for working the holiday at the hospital. The Anti-Flu juice is so refreshing and the tuna melt had cucumbers in it which was such a treat. We enjoyed all of what we got and cant wait to go back!

Incredible food. The bagel sandwiches and bagel dogs are mad yum. Dont get me started on the pastries. Wars could be fought over her lemon bars. The owner is sassy and sweet at the same time and going in there feels like youre hanging out at an old friends house. Shes not afraid to tell you that you filled it your order incorrectly but leave it to her to make you want to come back time and time again!

I got the lemon bar and the ecstasy bar and both were very tasty. I especially enjoyed the lemon bar, it has a wonderful cheesecake-like texture and a buttery crust. The customer service was amazing! The baker/owner was incredibly friendly, and even suggested that I try the baked goods before I left to make sure that I liked them! Overall a great experience, I will definitely come back.

This sandwich shop was recommended by a friend and we now frequent it more than they do! The staff is SO nice and friendly, and the food is so fresh and flavorful! If youre not sure about something-ask to try it! They are more than accommodating. You can also check in on Facebook for a free canned soda! We always leave with full bellies and big smilies.Fat Ducks Deli & Bakery is best.

Wow! I just got home from sharing a delicious zucchini muffin and breakfast sandwich at Fat Ducks with my husband, and I have to say it was my favorite restaurant experience Ive had in Seattle! The owner was amazing and the inside is adorable. I highly recommend this place and am ecstatic that I found a place to get a scrumptious, reasonably priced breakfast in the U-District!

The sweetest, kindest gesture came from the wonderful woman who baked black and white cookies. I bought a tea and commented to her how beautiful her cookies were. She delivered one to me at the Improv. Im completely blown away and loved the cookie very much! Hint of almond and lemon, along with the chocolate. Thank you very much; I will pay this forward!

I love Fat Ducks! Tonight was my first time going and Ill definitely be back. Jaclyn is SO nice, she gave me a bite of brownie while I waited and a chocolate when I left. Her chocolate mousse cake is out of this world and I cant get over her lemon bar. I would recommend Fat Ducks to anyone and I cant wait to try more of her delicious food!

Normally this place is good, with quality sandwiches and an owner who is almost too nice, but my big pet peeves is not being open posted hours which they are guilty of today. Ruined my prep for a trip out of town by not being available at 5pm on a Friday. Bad business decision.

I am a self proclaimed bagel fiend and this place blew me away with the quality of their food. It takes a minute to get your meal but its because it is real and made to order. The woman who works here is fabulous and loves to make her customers happy. Eat here. Do it.

Jackie the owner is so friendly! I got the lox duck and it was delicious, their chive flavored cream cheese is amazing. There is plenty of space to sit and they serve some baked goods as well as their bagel sandwiches. I will definitely be back soon!

This place was so delicious! Staff was super friendly and sandwiches were amazing. I got the Lucky Duck with pastrami and had a little bit of butterscotch pastry for dessert. Will definitely be visiting soon!
