I came Seattle for first time and staying in Renton, one day, i was walking towards Wallmart, and i saw one small board for Indian food, first though no, its not in good outlook but i was very hungry and need food, finally decided to go inside lets try today. When i entered in restaurant, it was clean and everything was perfect, i have given the order for Chicken Shahi Corma and Nan, with in a 10 minute they serve with very discipline manner, taste of the food amazing like home food, i was surprise it was a awesome experience for me to getting after long home food in a restaurant in USA. Entire staff of the restaurant are amazing, their way of talking, attitude, nature and hospitality is one of the best i have ever seen. Now Spice King is my second home for food, last 1.5 months continue having food their and now they are look like my family members. Entire staff is doing extremely hard work from morning to evening daily for serving World Class food quality. The way Spice King going Im sure one day it will be one of the best Restaurant in the USA. I will every city in US we will get the Spice King.

We were ultimately disappointed with SPICE KING. Like others with low reviews, we had high expectations. I cant speak to authenticity. However, for comparison: if you like Taste of India in the U District, this will disappoint. One one hand, the Tandoori grilled items we sampled were more like "plain bbq", lacking much flavor and somewhat dry. But the Baingan Bharta was overly seasoned to the point of being salty and undesirable. The Butter Chicken and Palak Paneer were average, as was the Naan - not that great. Finally, I love dives. I dont mind going to sketchy spots for awesome food, but this doesnt warrant going through the dirty and sketchy complex. SPICE KING itself is tidy and modest inside. I would skip or at least order out.

This is the place where you will enjoy having delicious food they serve. The owners are welcoming always and they serve the best Indian food in Seattle. Trust me to go here if you havent tried this place. They provide different varieties of Indian food ranging from Chaat to starters to main course and every item over here is delicious and savoring. I come here atleast once a week and I always feel like coming here. Their prices are decent. Must GO place in Renton. The only place that gives you an option of bread or rice when you order the curry unlike other places who just offer you rice with the curry. All I can describe about this place - WOW

Tasty Indian food with flavorful spices, not bland at all. My brother and I opted for the butter chicken, coconut goat curry, and saag paneer. All of them were very good (although the paneer was my least favorite) and the coconut goat curry was a new flavor for me, never had it before at an Indian place (but it was delicious!). Main entrees are served with rice or naan. We opted for rice, and had 3 orders of naan added to our meal. Plenty of food for us, and the meal was still under $50, fairly reasonable for Indian fare. And to top it off, the server and hostess were very friendly and quick. Would definitely eat here again.

Came here per recommendation of my boyfriend who works in Renton. We came for dinner on the weekend. Their small dining room was about 50% full still. He ordered the daily special and I ordered a thali that came with SO MUCH FOOD! We each got our own fresh naan which was very delicious and warm. All of the entrees on my thali were fantastic, the salad was nice and light, the tandoor chicken was so so, and it was nice to finish the meal off with two dessert balls. Their chai tea was quite good as well. For the price, quantity and quality of food I would definitely be back next time Im in Renton.

Just moved into the area from Florida and found this place after a few google searches. Told the sweet ladies up front that it was my first time here and was new to Indian food but wasnt afraid to try different things. The ladies were very helpful in recommending different items off the menu according to our moods. My wife and I ordered several different things off of the dinner and dessert menus and werent disappointed. Will definitely be coming back for more in the near future..

Epic fail... with all the five star reviews, I had high hopes. I ordered their chicken tikka masala. The sauce was bland (kind of like a tomatoes bisque) and the chicken was in chunks but not tender at all. Not at all tender like I have had at most other places. The rice was not jasmine rice and had no flavor. The garlic naan was okay but not fluffy (more like pita bread). Overall impression was that this is cafeteria style/quality Indian food with restaurant prices.

Went there for dinner and the place itself is inside a market place. Further the restaurant is situated inside a small shop with like chat phat ganna atmosphere. Quick to take order and serve beverages. Chat was good. Bhindi masala was fresh but mediocre and way too oily. The Vegetable curry was so bland for spice level 3 and also so oily. The sweets was good. The jilabi served from north indian cook was not good. Is OK to try for a time. But will not go again.

Although they do not specifically cater to vegetarians, Spice King makes some great vegetarian food. Ive gone with my wife and kids (all non-vegetarians) for a couple of years now and Ive never, nor has my family ever, been unsatisfied with the food or the service. Really great people, creating a great experience, by consistently delivering superb food for both the carnivore and the vegetarian. Its a great place for all.

Amazing place! When I used to live here, I used to eat here whenever I had the chance. The sambar is good, except for the fact that they make it sweeter everytime, which I dont like. I love their fish karahi! Amazing place, and good that you get to choose the spice level. Definitely recommend this place :)

I purchased a Groupon Deal for this place and figured Id take a chance. Wow. Very good stuff. I love Indian food and cant get enough of the spices. I was not disappointed. My Groupon Deal gave me 3 free meals for some crazy low price. This might become another place to hangout for lunch.

This little hole in the wall is a diamond in the rough. We love the $5 lunch options that include a fountain beverage. The hari chutney is AMAZING. Meat samosas are fantastic. Lots of vegetarian opinions. Parking can be a bit of a challenge, as the restaurant is inside the DK Market

As a hungry vegan with little to no restaurant choices...in a crunch I was able to find spice King who had a vegan option.....the food was delightfully good....I was given more than enough....the next time Im in Renton, I will stop and get a vegan plate from Spice King.
