Had to share this. Id been going here for quite some time and unfortunately I got to know the owner for who he really is. I was dining in one night with my two sons (age 4 and 2) and there was some really obscene Bollywood content practically full of nudity and circus like behavior playing on large screen TV. So I simply asked the owner if it would be okay if we turned it off, it was a slow night and no one was watching it aside from my kids. He told me no (which was fine), its his restaurant and his call - I took no offense. So although my food hadnt arrived at the table, its my right not to subject my kids to the garbage being displayed, so I opted to leave and asked for the bill. I was fine with paying for everything, I insisted actually. The owner then tells me he doesnt need my money and became very childish, and I told him I was sorry if I offended him and that I just wanted to leave, to which he replied that I did offend him. He then tells me if we come to this country we need to assimilate or something along those lines, not sure what playing Bollywood garbage has to do with that. Then he tells me he doesnt need this s***. I asked him to watch his language in front of my young boys and he said "No". I was respectful the entire time and was just trying to leave, and this guy showed his true colors. I would not support this business with your money. There are businesses that are deserving of your patronage, not this one.

Anyone eating Indian Food ------ Exorbihantly prized food and not of the authentic quality and ambience Went there for lunch and it was not a buffet and Ala-carte. Was so surprised that they were able to serve food so fast says that the food was microwaved and served. The prize was so exorbihant from what is mentioned from lunch special to what we ended up paying to more than 160% (10 to 26) and with tip added to 30 bucks as mentioned by a previous commenter. Since the same was microwaved the flavour of freshness was missing. No fresh spice taste and authenticity was lacking. Further the ambience to charge this amount is completely missing and it is like a mediocre restaurant. Reception and seating - Good Bhindi Fry - So so oily and the oil quality was bad Dhaal Special - Dhaal was not fully cooked and in mashed state and also oily and greasy. (no fresh butter) Chick peas/Channa masala - Good but lacked spices Aloo Gobi - OK Naan - Good. Order was for Garlic and served with regular naans. Roti - Good. Rice - Very flavourful and the same is 5 stars. Could have simply ate this and come out. Serving beverage - Long time and delayed. Taking order - Long time and delayed. Once order taken and time to serve Indian food - Sooper fast. Refilling Naans and roties - Fast Cleansing and Bill- Forever

This was one place where I liked the food and would visit often. But the owner tries to act smart and at times he is very rude. Generally the restaurant closes at 9:30 PM on fridays and saturdays. The other day, it was a friday and we managed to reach there by 9:25 PM but the doors were already locked. When one of the waitresses saw us and was about to open the door, the owner called her and pretended to show something in one of the bills. After that she directly went inside without opening the doors. We were still standing outside in cold, unaware of what was happening and expecting somebody to respond. We tried to knock on the door a couple of times and the owner who was at the cash counter didnt even bother to look at us. After about 5 minutes the same waitress made some gestures and indicated that the restaurant was closed. When we were about to leave, the owner for the first time in this drama of 5-10 minutes gave a very arrogant look at us. It was then that we realised the actual man behind the scene. I would definitely recommend this restaurant for non-veggie lovers but a strict NO for veggies. Food wise I would rate 4 on 5 but service/hospitality/treatment wise they deserve max 1 on 5. I have decided not to visit this restaurant again in future ONLY due to the bad treatment.

Taste is good but that is not the only thing we expect. Hospitality is something which is expected from someone into this business other than the quality, quantity, taste and pricing. If you want to spoil your special occasion, this is the place. I took my wife on our anniversary, the owner created a scene just for seating arrangement and we had to hear the most rude statements. Although he tried his best to spoil our moods but we had decided not to spoil our evening. We could have cancelled the order right away and walked out but decided to stick to our Etiquette to pay for what we ordered irrespective of the treatment we received. Also, it was an unhealthy environment for the employees/servers who seemed to be afraid of their master(owner) and were waiting for his orders even for a very small request from us. Once someone spoils your mood and later even if he tries to do a funny circus to impress you.. doesnt make a sense. Once lost.. the credibility and image is lost forever.

Im a bit of an Indian-food connoisseur, Ive eaten at many Indian restaurants in the US, UK and in India. This restaurant serves the best Indian food that Ive found in the US. The prices are higher than what Id expect, given (a) horrible Renton location (prices are more appropriate for downtown Bellevue), and (b) portion sizes. However, the food is extremely tasty (the lamb dishes especially so). I agree with other reviews that state that the restaurant "nickles and dimes" you, with charging too much for staples like naan. Id rate this restaurant a 7/10 overall, but could easily be a 9/10 if they focused more on patron satisfaction, value for money, and earning loyal repeat customers. Some reviews are unjustly negative. If they are microwaving food, then it is not apparent in the quality -- the food is spicy, tender, and shows no signs of microwaving (like inconsistent temperature). Service is typically quick, but can be variable.

The selection is equivalent to other restaurants, but it has above average flavor. They meticulously label and organize all of your food before delivering or serving you. They are German Auto maker accurate, but lack a pizzazz or anything to really make it memorable. There interior is drab and feels unpacked. It feels like theyre selling a brand before a meal, with all their stickers they put on to go orders, which maybe the reason why their prices are incredibly high for the area. They maybe the most expensive undeserving Indian restaurant, I have dined at. And I have eaten at a $250 NYC two person meal without alcohol. I give them 4 stars because they better than average, but another Indian restaurant more deserving is Saffron in Northgate. Sadly for the Puget sound area, Golden India, in Redmond, WA no longer exists. Golden was the epitome of beyond service and flavor for an Indian restaurant experience.

Especially for Indian patrons - as comparison made with Indian restaurants!! Travel frequently and have visited Indian restaurants coast-to-coast. Wish I could give this negative stars, but 1 it will be :( -Pricey menu: Paneer Tikka Masala, 2 Garlic Naans and Mango Lassi which is standard meal for one came to $30 with 10% tip! -Not authentic in taste at all, as claimed - Cant even begin to imagine where the "fresh spices" and "ingredients" are bought from, at least my platter was devoid of any. -Slow service and overbearing owner/manager - Though order was taken quickly and served (the saving grace for the place), took forever to clean up and take order for dessert. Finally, decided to personally walk up to the cashier to pay and leave! Of course, the owner/manager saw nothing wrong in this ;-) Bad enough for me to type a review - hope others can avoid this mistake.
