I am disappointed to have spent 19.50 for a hotpot soup and Uni marked up to $6 a serving. I think the Uni is not often requested - I am concerned that it may have been old and was not the usual delicately firm and smooth texture I have gotten at (suprise: Marinepolis Sushi Land = High volume = Fresh Uni that is often ordered). I think this is a challenge that restaurants have if certain ingredients are not often ordered with high volume. Secondly, the Yosenabe is quite a delicate soup that allows the flavors of fresh cod to showcase. This did not happen. The fish had a texture as if it had been frozen and then cooked in the broth. I was disappointed to find that the shrimp even had a ever so slight fishy taste to it (the kind when they just start to turn). Again, I am afraid that being of Japanese ancestry - I tried things on the menu, Grandma used to make but is probably not ordered as often in the Redmond area. I will probably not go back. It was certainly an honest try. Pro: Attentive and friendly staff.

Ive been coming here at least once a week for months now. The food is delicious and the people who run the place are lovely! One time I got something I found bland, but since I love the place so much I decided to suck it up and pay for it. They noticed and asked me about it twice (the first time I said it was fine) and the second time they replaced it with my favorite dish at no additional cost. Their fried calamari is the best in Redmond, hands down!

My wife and I go out every Friday, for Date Night. Nara Japanese Restaurant is on our regular rotation of "Best Places to Dine" in Redmond. We have been eating there since they opened in 1989. The California Rolls are soooooooooo creamy, I highly recommend you try this.

Dont bother. A decent enough california roll, but everything else was some of the worst sushi ive ever had. The QFC makes better stuff. With a great sushi restraunt a few blocks down at the same price, you would be realy doing yourself a disservice.

We were starving, we ordered ~$70 worth of Sushi. After we ate their we were still hungry... Hunger is the greatest seasoning - Unknown at the moment I like sushi, in comparison to the other sushi restaurants this place was mediocre at best...

Food couldnt have been better. No fishy taste in any of the items on sushi sampler. Service was fast and friendly. It was CLEAN! Which is often taken for granted. I will make the hour drive to come back to Nara often!

Probably one of the best US sushi meals I have had in a long time. Fish was fresh and amazing. Staff is a family and friendly. Atmosphere is cozy, not pretentious. Not expensive for what you get.

Delicious food, ranging from appetizers and sushi to udon and donburi. Prices are a tad high but definitely worth it, the food tastes homemade and the service is great.

Very friendly service, and all the food was pretty tasty. It gets pricey to eat your fill, but thats how sushi always seems to be.
