I went to this restaurant on Saturday. Ive been there on several occasions and try to get there at least a couple times a month and was hoping to make it a weekly occurrence. There were at least three open tables. I told them party of two and that my second party would arrive shortly. They refused to seat me until my whole party was there. My party showed up within about 5 minutes, but now there were no more tables. I asked if it was just me if they would have seated me and they said yes, but that I told them two so they werent going to seat me. I asked why I couldnt be seated and they said they never seat people until their whole party arrives. This is a bold faced lie because I have arrived there after my other party (once again a party of two) on previous occasions and found them seated in the dining area. I really have no idea why they wouldnt seat one person out of a party of two until the other person showed up. Do the tables suddenly morph into different sizes to accommodate the size of the party? Does it create that much of a burden on them to seat you when your other party will arrive before they even take your drink order? Apparently at El Toreador the answer is yes. If you choose to go to El Toreador, make sure you have every member of your party with you or be prepared to lie to them about the number in your party. Otherwise be prepared to wait indefinitely. Because of this lack of customer service I will not give them anymore of my business. Im glad to see a business is doing so well in this economy that they can afford to lose customers.

The only problem I have with El Toreador is that the food is totally addictive. My husband and I use to love Taco Del Mar and Mazatlan but now we can not go anywhere else for mexican. The staff has always been quick and proffessional though it is often too busy to expect anything overly familar. The portions are huge but the food is so good that I hardly ever have left overs. Is it truly authentic? I do not know... I have been to Mexico but I stayed at 5 star resorts. What I do know is that their chips are always hot and fresh, the salsa has never seen a jar, and the margaritas are all doubles. It is the best.

El Toreador has been my "Cheers" place for nearly 7 years. Its where I can go and everyone knows my name, and not only that... they love me enough to give me hugs every time I visit! Now some of you might not appreciate that, but that affection combined with the best mole sauce and margaritas around are all this girl could ask for in a mexican restaurant. :) Give them a try and youll see why most of the other patrons sitting around you have been coming for years. My favorite is the little bar in the back... thats where the fun is.

Excellent food - freshly made chips and salsa that are both complimentary and very tasty! Their Chile Verde meal is an amazing combination of tender pork, in a delicious sauce along with rice and beans. The chimichangas are tasty - so tasty that its hard to choose between the chicken and beef but thankfully you dont have to. Just have one of each! The fajitas arrived piping hot and steaming with plenty of meat, peppers and onions! Finally, the prices are so reasonable - great value for money!

We ate here last night. I had chile colorado (whats with making it with pork instead of beef?), my wife had a vegetarian chimichanga and the inlaws had combo plates. While it wasnt disgusting or anything, it was far from the best Mexican food on the eastside. It was all a little bland. Nothing special here folks, just an average Mexican restaurant with no outstanding qualities that I could think of. Ixtapa in Duvall is much better if you are willing to take a bit of a drive.

I always look forward to eating the chips here. I give the food 4 out of 5 stars. But I always come here to eat the chips! They are fresh, 100% authentic, made and cut right there at the restaurant. Its the only place that I know of that serves awesome authentic hand cut chips. The salsa is amazing too.

We went for an early dinner on Sunday. The mole enchilada entree is great and not too heavy. We also ordered tamale dinner, which is a little dry inside but good with some sauce. The chips and salsa are okay. Chips are thicker then normal chips I am used to and the salsa was a little watery.

The salsa was so good! The chips were thick and crispy. The carne asada was sooooo awesome! The owner responded harshly to a customer who wondered why he opened 10 minutes late. Enchilada sauce sucked. Chicken burrito was good! The rice was okay. Overall: decent experience.

I have to agree, the food is excellent - but I have had the same gruff waiter 3 times now, and each time we were treated as an inconvenience. Must be the same guy as mentioned below by another poster. We figure he owns the place, b/c he certainly isnt working for tips...

I was pleasantly surprised by this unassuming little Mexican restaurant. The service was fast/friendly and the food was incredible! I usually post a pic of a meal or two but as soon as I took the first bite, I couldnt stop. One of the best restaurants around!

Food was pretty good. It was overwhelmingly loud. Lots of kids screaming and pounding on tables. We were seated almost immediately. But prices were pretty high for the portions served. They were not large portions and more like a normal dinner plate size.

Best Mexican food in greater Seattle area, by far. Authentic and traditional meals on the menu. The staff is wonderful and ask if the chef has a special. It will be an authentic Mexican dish not found often and will blow your taste buds away!

This is the best Mexican food I have ever had. Very old timey look to it, but I dont mind. The appetizers were to DIE FOR!!! This is real Mexican food, not Taco Bell or anything of that sort. Go here after s fun day shopping in the town center!!!

Losing a lot of the magic it used to have, not to mention huge foot traffic outside but a lack of modernization and a dated interior that significantly detract from how good it could be. Food is still classic Mexican in spite of these failings.

We were pleasantly surprised by the service we and food here. Taste was like home food. Salsa was one the best I had in many years prices are reasonable. What more I can write? Yes, I am going there again and yes, I recommend this place.
