7.1.10 ordered a carne asada taco salad. eaten 5 hours ago. my god. my intestines are of a muffled subway for trumpeting elephants and slow rolling bison; my stool like a thin and frothy atomic primordial soup commanding the velocity of a thousand temperamental pterodactyls cliff diving; my throw up, in all sincerity, is just confusing, and violent. normally, vallartas tacos salads are decent. once i got chicken and found a few medium sized bones. another time, inside the restaurant, a fly dive bombed my salad. i thought, im a big man, i eat nails instead of candy, but now, now im tired. and for me, vallarta, no more.

Found this place on yelp! Food was delicious. Steaming and cooking as you walked in. Looked like a hole in the wall taqueria from Mexico. The food was delicious. I had the carne asada tacos and these had big chunks of meat. Tacos had a heaping amount of meat on them and then they have a toppings bar to dress them as you like. To quench my thirst I had a Pina Agua Fresca. Very refreshing and left you wanting more.

Ive never been a big fan of Vallartas food. Id say its average, not great, not too bad. I do think they have great chips, and when their salsa fresca has been made with ripe tomatoes, it is also really good. However most items Ive ordered out of about ten visits to various Vallarta locations in Santa Cruz, Ive never been impressed nor too disappointed. This new Mission St. location is the cleanest Ive been to.

The chile rellenos tasted like dish soap! We mentioned this to a friend and apparently, this locations food always has a soapy taste. Looks like they dont rinse their cookware very well. My boyfriend was nauseous all night from this place. Also, the restaurant menus and online menu dont match up, so be prepared to spend more than you thought you would.

Pretty good Mexican place and my new favorite for inexpensive Mexican fair after the downtown Taqueria Vallarta closed. I heard that the head chef from the downtown location came to this location and food seems to be at least as good as the one downtown was. Definitely a good place for a good bite thats affordable.

Im so with Teresa Rodriguez also went to this place and as I was eating my big burrito filled with nothing but rice and beens im looking for the meat I ordered it with it litterly had like one taco of meet in it SMH. Its a burrito put meet in it! NOTHING LIKE THE BURRITOS FROM LOS ANGELES..

The tacos here are amazing only if you get the right meat! Buche and Carnitas are truly worth a try! If you ask them to make it extra crispy, they will do it and the tacos will have an amazing taste! I pretty much only these two meats whenever I come here.

They do the job well and get the food right. Word to the wise though, Santa Cruzs Mexican food offerings are not that great in general, so be weary of quality. If youre looking for a quick spot to get some tacos, this is your place.

The best taqueria in Santa Cruz. I usually get the Carne Asada Burrito (regular) but sometimes when I eat there with a friend we just split the Supreme. Love their sauces, the "plain" tomato sauce is my favorite.

The customer service and the facilities are pretty average and the food is pretty good. Theres nothing really bad about it but nothing really stands out as absurdly amazing either. Ill definitely come back though.

Food was pretty good and comes out quick. Its a bigger place than I expected. Its a little more expensive than most but it is Santa Cruz so I wouldnt expect less. Everyone working looks really sad though.

After losing their other branch it seems more attention is being paid to the main location. The food is excellent and its a great place to go with friends. The chips and salsa are especially great here.

I had two tacos ( 1 chicken and 1 al pastor). Both had great flavor, but the tortillas broke apart almost immediately during the first bite. Perhaps there was too much oil in the sauce.
