The staff was friendly and the price seemed good for the quantity of food. We went on the Thursday night (~7pm), and I realize that would not be the busiest night of the week, but I only saw two other families in there, which kind of made me wonder. We were greeted quickly, then abandoned for 5-10 minutes before they seated us, then it took a while before they came to take our order. We ordered their #2 dinner combo: egg flower soup, chicken chow mein, deep fried prawns, sweet/sour pork, pork fried rice. There was plenty of food and the presentation was fine, but a bit odd that the prawns came in a little side bowl. The soup seemed to have very little flavor (though I normally opt for hot and sour, so I may be biased), though with a little pepper and soy sauce, it tasted pretty good. The prawns were perhaps the worst fried prawns I have ever had; they were extremely greasy, too much batter for the amount of prawn, and had no discernible flavor. I peeled the coating the coating off of some of mine to find the prawn, and it was still a greasy, tasteless mess. The piece of sweet and sour pork I tried (from my wifes dish) was similarly greasy and flavorless (apart from the sauce) and made me glad I substituted Kung Pao Chicken for the s/s pork. My Kung Pao was fine, but nowhere near the flavor I have tasted at other restaurants throughout the years. The chicken was fairly tender, but the sauce was so bland, and even ordering 4 stars left it quite boring. The pork fried rice seemed a little dry (at least by the time I got to it), and made me wish I had ordered steamed rice instead, but it was fine. Surprisingly, the highlight for me was the chicken chow mein. After the other low-flavor dishes, I was prepared to be disappointed, but I really enjoyed the sauce and combination of ingredients in the chow mein. My daughter had been here several times and recommended it. My wife had been here a couple of times and was hesitant, but we decided to give it a(nother) try. While, as I mentioned, the staff were nice, I doubt I will go back to Main Garden again (unless I forget my experience there tonight). From a restaurant that (as of tonight) is rated at 4.4 stars, I truly expected more!

Been going here for years. Good food! The God awful service well keep you away! The service here is never very good and youll have to expect that if you want to eat their food. Youll often feel like youre being ignored and then when they do finally get to you theyre in such a hurry to take your order and leave you have to stop them so you can get a get a chance to tell them everything you want, youll have to find them if you want a refill on your drink or need anything else after they have brought you your food, you feel like youre inconveniencing them, and at times you almost sense an attitude, its always been this way. The food however is very good and its the only reason we go here, but if were hungry and dont want to have to wait fifteen minutes for someone to take our order when usually there are only three or four tables with people (and I see why) well go someplace else. They do always make a point of asking you how the food was when youre leaving and we always say very good, but they never ask "how was everything?" Because I get a sense they already know. At the end of the day its tasty food and you leave with a full stomach, buts it not my first choice.

The best Chinese food that I can find anywhere. The portions are extremely plentiful; We usually have four people at our table and get a 3 plate family dinner (with an extra plate and soup), and end up taking 4 square styrofoam boxes of food home with us! Which is fine, because I love leftovers. I will say however, that I dont enjoy their beef items that much, they all taste like shrimp to me. Everything else is soooo gooood though! Yes, the building is a little run down; yes, the atmosphere is lacking a little bit; yes, sometimes you do have to put up with karaoke emanating from the bar area.. small price to pay however (and if they spent a lot of money upgrading their building, portions would get smaller and prices would go up)

What a great place. My husband and I were looking for a good Chinese food place with a lot of variety, but being new to Puyallup, werent sure where to go. Being leary of the Chinese Buffet places, we wanted a decent sit-down place with good food and service. We found that here. Food is excellent, service was great and the portions are very generous. The price is about what Id expect. We also took our 2 1/2 year old with us. Luckily, they have an "American" section on the menu for the less adventurous. Our youngster had a grilled cheese sandwich :) The place looks a little run down, but its clean (very important). Id recommend it to anyone.

One of the best non mainstream commerical chinese restaurants i have found. Other chinese restaurants in the area dont have the fresh and quality ingredients that they provide which makes there food so good! I would reccomend the sweet and sour chicken and the egg rolls. However one thing i didnt like was this chinese man running around barking orders and being kinda rude to people around? But I only had to see him for a minute so it was okay.. lol I would reccomend this to anyone who loves good chinese food.

The food was great, customer service sucked! We would of had a bigger ticket if the waitress wouldve asked if we wanted something to drink, she brought 4 of our plates about ten minutes later I asked about the final plate that had not been delivered with the rest of our meal, she seemed to be put out, with our request for our food, the ONLY reason for the 3 stars is the food was relatively good!!! Id definitely order take out only for sure!!!

NEVER again! The owner has the worst case of "Holier than thou" syndrome. He gives attitude when we refused the tea. Then this guy yanked the Tea Pot off the table so hard, the force spewed tea all over my 8 year old. I got up and left. I ended up taking the family a block up the street on the same side. Way better service, and the staff seems to actually give a crap. NEVER returning to Main Garden. If I could rate zero stars i would

I only go here once a month to meet up with friends. The manager/owner is a great guy & will do whatever he can to make his customers happy. The food is good but makes my husband & I sick the next day. We have ate here 3 times, so we know it is their food. Other people eat here & are fine. They dont get sick. Karaoke is sometimes too loud & the main bartender needs to smile & be more friendly. Other than that, its a good place

Well when we call for take out, they cant get our order right then when we pick it up, and when we call when we discover the wrong order at home and call back, youd think theyd make it right, BUT NO!!! Apparently its not his fault he heard "Orange Chicken" instead of "Almond Chicken" and if I want my correct order I have to come pay for Almond Chicken. Last time we order from here, and before this, we were regulars!
