READ ME!!!If I could give zero stars I would. Ive never written a review before, but felt compelled to with this place. Worst "service" ever, meaning I wasnt even served water after 30 minutes. I wanted to go here for ages, finally decided to try it as Im graduating soon and wanted to test it before my graduation party. I followed a couple in (3pm Fri), bringing the grand total of customers to 7 (including me obviously). Was sat promptly and the server said hed be right back with water. The couple that entered before me had their water, wine etc and ordered, even receiving their apps before I had my non-existent water. I sat for about twenty minutes without water or any recognition. After about twenty minutes a party of 5 entered and received water and proceed to order, yet I still sat with no water or service of any kind. I decided to leave, as I got up they finally noticed me I guess as a older female employee approached me ( she was wearing a white t-shirt, maybe the bartender). I asked for the manager and she replied "Theres no manager today" so I politely proceeded to tell her why I was leaving, she kept interrupting me saying "Im here now, Im here now, your leaving so whats the point" all I wanted to say was WHY I WAS LEAVING, being so empty I thought after 30 minutes I would at the very least have water. She continued disregarding everything I had to say finishing with " I dont deserve this, I cant believe him" I NEVER RAISED MY VOICE or swore, I was completely polite and respectful, then she told me to go to Anthonys Homeport and see how quick I got my water or service, SO I DID!!! I will tell everybody I know to avoid this place. Should have read the other reviews on this place before wasting my time. If Im going to take the time to create an account and time to review this place HEED MY WARNING

Do not go here. Wish i would have looked at these reviews before coming here. We had a situation with paying the bill. We where over charged for one drink but that was not the big issue. The waiter was new and thought that he had ran our card. But he didnt. He took the card to the back and bought it back telling us thank you and have a good day. We asked him if the bill was paid and be said yes it was and he left. The problem was we didnt get a card transaction slip to sign. Instead he bought back the orginal tab slip instead. It took another 10 minutes to get his attention to get him back to the table. And when we did, we asked again if we were paid in full. He stated yes we were and that he ran it on the card we gave him. We told him about the drink and about that we felt we were not charged for the bill. He left bough back the manager whos name is Marry. We explained everything to her. She took the skip to the back then came back out and said no the card was not ran. She was very rude about it and was not even thank full that we were honest and didnt leave without paying the bill when the establishment thought the bill was paid. After that we left and i was upset so i call back to talk to her about the customer service. I let her know that i wasnt upset with the waiter because i knew he was new and i knew he was trying. But i was upset with her because we just save the establishment over $200 on a tab that we were told was paid and it wasnt and she was rude to us about it. And right when i am talking to her on the phone about it she hangs up on me. Everyone beware if you go here and have a problem. And the funny thing about it is it really wasnt even our problem. We could have walk out and not have paid. Its sad that when you try and be honest this establishment is rude.

My family has been going to the Oyster House for years. Even went there with extended family for Thanksgiving. Not once did I have a bad experience. Sadly after going there for dinner last night, I doubt Ill be anxious to return. It started off by noticing they discontinued their super delicious taco salad and with their new menu came higher prices. The waiter Alex, pressured my mom into getting a larger beer than she could drink so we asked for an extra glass and lemon for my water. The lemon and the glass were forgotten, so we had to ask again. I ordered Halibut tacos (grilled), but they came to me breaded and fried. They forgot my moms vegetables she ordered with her steamed clams, my husband also ordered clams and they forgot the butter for both orders of steamed clams. My husband also ordered oyster stew to try, but the oysters could hardly be found and the potatoes and carrots were only partially cooked. Still crunchy. I was watching the other servers and when one went crashing thru the door to serve food outside, some of the customers food fell off the plate. Frankly most of the hired help seemed less than qualified to offer the exceptional customer service I once knew. Not once did Alex apologize for anything that was forgotten at our table, but was trying to defend himself. He asked us at the end how our food and service was and I was being polite by saying it was adequate. Sad for the place I use to love to go. It went downhill in my opinion.

So this is my third time eating here. Once before the fire and twice since. First time I couldnt have asked for better food or service. The second time the food was ok and service was slow, but after this time I wont be back. We didnt wait long before being seated but once we sat down we waited 10 mintues for our waiter (I watched a couple leave and my table was waited on before a table that had been there long before us), then we waited and waited and waited some more for our food to arrive with no silverware. The food was mediocre...not so disgusting that it couldnt be eaten but definitely not worth the price. I had some under cooked food on my plate that our waiter took back to the kitchen and then came back and told me I was wrong and there was nothing wrong with my food. Hmm ok then....? After we paid I went to talk to the manager about it and she said she would refund me for my plate and when I mentioned something about the service she became very hostile thank goodness she was interrupted by another angry customer who hadnt been waited on at all. She told her and her group that they could leave and not come back!......come to find out we were talking to the owner!! Awesome way to run your business and treat current and potential customers!!

I used to frequent the Oyster House whenever I was in Olympia, usually 2 or 3 times a year. Always with a large group, 8 or more people. Service and food was always great... Sadly, though, the fire which gutted the place a few years ago, apparently gutted the service and food as well. During the rebuild, service was left out. My first time back was about a year ago and unfortunately I dont remember specifics, but it was bad enough that I didnt want to return. 5/7/16, in Oly with friends, we decided to give it one more try. We took the only available booth in the bar, which happened to be dirty. It was busy, ok... We carefully pushed all the items left into a neat pile near the edge of the table and waited. 2 more groups sat at high top tables in the bar. The server greeted them with waters and silverware, we still waited. The busser stopped by, noticed us, gave us new settings, didnt clear dirty silverware and glasses or wipe the table. The server watched this, paused, considered the scene, then walked away. We waited... a total of 20 minutes (wanting to give enough time since they were busy) sadly though, we left, never to return. Sad that a once great place has lost its greatness...
