Wow, surprisingly pleasant experience; Been looking for a go-to place and this might be it. Great service and plentifully good food & drinks. I ordered my usual tacos & enchiladas as a test. They use commercial hard shells, not fresh fried authentic style tortillas but they paid attention to quality. The tacos were NOT soggy and baked crunchy with fresh ingredients. The chicken enchiladas were good. The tortillas used were surprisingly good, maintained its structure and best of the ensemble. Yes, I do agree by several reviews that the meat was on the bland/dry side. I used a little pepper, topped w/ their nice tasty (medium) salsa and pico made it complete. The pico appears to have been prepd early-daily and although not unusual, was not as fresh as it should be. As a rule, the pico SHOULD BE as fresh as possible. The pico is served sparingly. Some attention to (additional?) seasoning prep w/ the meat would improve the meal. They do cater to the masses but this is where authenticity and goodness is compromised. They sacrificed true flavor. Service is really a 4.5 here but food is not up to snuff (3.5). We will visit again to try out other dishes. Well done Las Espuelas but I would recommend to be daring to be authentic and provide flavors, freshness and spice to improve your food and balance your excellent service. - EF

Excellent and prompt service. All employees have a smile on their face and are very attentive. My water glass has not been empty since I got it. The food is amazing. I had the Chile colorado that bursts with flavor. The plate was garnished with an orange slice, which makes a surprisingly delicious addition! The owner or manager came over to make sure everything was good. The decor is detail oriented, as even the salt/pepper holders are a piece of art. Everything here is detailed and clean. Truly an outstanding place to eat. Kid friendly for those with little ones. Im from arizona and love Mexican food - this place is up to snuff.

This was one of the worst Mexican meals Ive ever had. I ordered the sirloin tacos and what I found inside the soggy tortillas were bits of meal that actually tasted like some kind of soy product. The bits were covered in some reddish sauce that tasted really awful. Thank goodness my lunch came with whole beans and rice, because thats all I could eat from my plate. My lunch companion had a chicken tostada...hard to screw up, right? It was a mound of not so fresh iceberg lettuce, a few shreds of chicken, and generally a very tasteless plate of food. So much for trying new places. We will not be back.

First experience dining here, walked in and interior was nice and clean. Service was slow, and should have known by the salsa and pico that is was not going to be great. The food was served hot and that was the only redeeming factor as I have had better mexican in a school lunch. Who makes a chile relleno and puts tomato sauce out of a can on it? An enchilada with ground beef that is barely seasoned? if you have given this restaurant anything over 2 stars, then you dont know what Mexican food can be, No flavor, no spice, no soul...I wont be back, see you at any taco wagon over this!

Great little place. Me and my girlfriend eat here on a regular occasion. First time there the server was kinda rude but the food was good and the pico de gallo that comes with the chips is amazing. I am guessing the server we had was having a bad day that day because we went back and she was very friendly and kind. The best item to order there in my opinion is the veggie chile rellano. One of the best I have had in a long time.

Food was delicious, and the atmosphere was nice, but quite noisy. I had to drop a star due to the fact that the manager appeared to be doing a lot of the work, as they did not appear to be sufficiently staffed to keep up with capacity. The waitresses all looked very flustered every time they came to check on us. It was a Wednesday night, so maybe it was an unexpected rush. Great experience otherwise!

This is the first Mexican restaurant Ive ever gone to in Washington it was high rated so I decided to go here when I order my food I did not like it. A few minutes later the manger came to me and asked me why I didnt like the food I told him the reasons he got mad and demanded that I pay for it . This place here is run by some rude people if your ever really had Mexican food do not go here

Have been here twice before and enjoyed the meal. Not sure if they have changed the chef, but this time a little disappointed. Great service as usual, very quick with getting drinks and getting meal to the table but the meal was bland. I usually have the arroz con pollo which in other Mexican restaurants has flavor and a lovely sauce, not this time, very dry and very bland.

Went here for the first time a couple weeks ago. And just came back again. For once a Mexican place that delivers! Their food is high quality... soooo delicious. And not only that, but the restaurant is beautiful and clean. Probably the nicest place Ive been in a long time. The staff are the friendliest. They really make you feel welcome.

Owner truly cares about his customers! Ive been here several times and have always seen him in a great mood! The service is exceptional and the food is amazing! Not super greasy and quality ingredients. A little more expensive but well worth it. I will be back here and highly recommend this restaurant!

Fairly good food but the place is packed. It would probably be a good idea to make reservations. Service was a little slow and the atmosphere is quite noisy. It was difficult to have a conversation with the person sitting across from you. All likely due to how full the place was.

The food here is delicious, the service is wonderful, the menu is large and there are lunch/half dish specials. Also my children love the kids menu, they arent huge fans of Mexican food (yet) and there are options that match their tastes.

Had a late lunch here with my cousin. Amazing atmosphere. Friendly and attentive staff. The food was outstanding, the only downside was the time it took to get refills on our drinks. Definitely will be visiting again.

This food is mediocre and bland. My wife and I were highly disappointed. Steak Fajitas were boring. The guacamole tasted old. Enchiladas were dry and bland. Overall, I wouldnt go here to eat even in a pinch.

This little restaurant is adorable, I love there decor. The food is fantastic. The service is amazing, they are genuine and welcoming and on top of everything. Would definitely recommend and would go back.
