A few minutes away from both Seattle and Bellevue, this Island Broiler on Mercer Island is worth the drive. It was reopened in October 2014 with a new owner and the name “Phat 12” was added. Seahawks Photos hang on the walls and each category on the menu has 12 items so the new name is a fun nod to the Seahawks and the 12th man! Their food is amazing, everyone I have introduced to this restaurant has LOVED it! Chef T puts his own unique twist on all the dishes and the result are incredible. I would describe the food as American with Caribbean flair. Hard to fit the food into just one category though as he has a great overall selection, including Asian dishes. His BBQ is so good and I learned that he is a certified BBQ Pit Master and has even competed on the television show “Pit Masters”. We were lucky enough to be there on Seahawks Game Day this past Sunday where they not only showed the game on a giant projector screen, but Chef T had made up some incredible hot wings using his own blend of spices. They were wonderful, such a unique flavor. I don’t care for spicy food and even though these wings had heat, the flavor was so remarkable, I ate several of them! He uses different blends of spices on his meats and fish dishes, all of his own making. I hope he starts bottling and selling this stuff…I will be first in line to buy it! And don’t get me started on his aioli sauce, I can’t get enough of it. The blackened fish sandwich is the BOMB! They have an excellent drink menu- I recommend their “Rum Punch” and “Island Margarita” which are both very unique and delicious! Their coconut fried ice cream comes with a table side show with fire, the kids were especially excited about this. I loved their Peach Cobbler, it was perfection on a plate. All of the staff are very personable and friendly and I noticed that Chef T makes tableside visits with all of his restaurant guests every time I am there. I recently learned that they provide a wide variety of catering options, personalized to your needs and budget and have boxed lunch options for meetings as well. I will definitely be using these services in the future for work and personal! They serve breakfast all day and although I havent made it for breakfast yet, but their menu looks great. I heard their grits with shrimp is beyond delicious. Cant wait to try it. If you haven’t yet tried this place…you are missing out!

First of all, I thought this place is just burger and steakhouse but they have more to offer than traditional American cuisine. My family and I been here at least 4 times for lunch and dinner this week. We have tried the Pineapple, ultimate I.B burger. They are bomb, big half pound Angus beef and large portion of fries. If you are a big eater, you will love it. Perfect taste, juicy, with combination of their secret house sauce make a perfect burger. Love the Chicken, Mango, Papaya salads. These items are also our favorite. We had tried many other places but the salads from here are so awesome, flavorful, yum yum ah. Other items like Pad-Thai, Chefs special grilled Salmon, steak rice, special vermicelli, pho. All are so good. You must try this place out. I think the price is not bad compare to other places on the Island. The noodle soup Pho is $1 or $2 more compare to other Pho places on the island which we had tried before. Honestly, the noodle soup pho at Island Broiler are bomb, good portion of meat and noodle, the herbs flavor from the broth make it taste so good. The place is clean, relax, nice service and very respectful. Very warm welcoming, the manager always shows her smile and profession. They care about their customers a lot, they knows when to engage their customers in a respectful manner. Definitely our new favorite spot on the Island.

Surprisingly good food, perhaps even great; exterior does not hint at this level, and Mercer Island overall tends to have mediocre food (not bad, usually, just "meh") all over. I have visited this place three times so far, and have been pleasantly surprised each time, from caprese sandwich to roasted vegetable salad & ribs+fries. Everything in food is professionally done: technically flawless, taste & seasoning spot on. And even looks good. If more widely known, or under name-recognized chef, they could charge significantly more; as things are, prices are decent too. I have had no problems with service either; the only odd thing is that the place has not been bursting with customers. Good for me, as its easy to find room, but I really hope the current incarnation of this restaurant makes it and stays in business. MI is a tough place; another good place (Deli near book store) called it quits in 2 years. So best of luck to Phat 12s. Keep up the good work.

Best Restaurant in Mercer Island, #bestrestaurant, #mercerisland, #seattle, #bellevue #vicinity If you guys havent check out this restaurant yet, you gotta do it. You guys are lucky to have this restaurant serving the best foods on the island. Im from Bellevue, but often come here with friends and family. Havent found a place like this for long long time. The smoked ribs, the grits and some of the southern recipes will Satisfied you. Thats all I have to say for now. Check it out and prove me wrong. I know there are alot of lovers and haters out there. But be honest, doesnt matter what, Im rooting for the Phat 12. Hope to meet some of the Seahawks players here sometime. #RusselWilson, #PeteCarol, #EarlThomas, #seagals, #12manfan, #RichardSherman, #KamChancellor,

Excellent. The service was great and fast, they are so nice, the food was excellent. Tried the special pho and spring rolls is highly recommended in the food critics review, and I definitely have a new favorite. The crispy calamari and grilled squids were light and crispy, not very oily at all. The yellow curry was rich and thick, love it. Awesome burgers, had this for several times. 5 star spicy chicken Pad-Thai did not overwhelm the flavor of the dish, with the spicy coming as a slow burn after the flavor. Definitely will go back again. Beside the foods, the place is so nice, beautiful and fun sports bar blend in with the water fall themes calm and relax.
