I went in today to get a chai latte. There were 2 orders ahead of me, no one in line when I ordered. There were 2 men and 1 woman on staff at the time. The two guys chatted for some time before one of them could be bothered to take my order. He took my order as a latte, and put my name as Toby, even though Im obviously a woman, and spelled my name for him. 15 min later the wrong drink order is finally ready. I inform them that its wrong, that I wanted a Chai latte and not a latte, it takes another 5 min for them to make a Chai latte. Even then they put one shot of Chai in to a luke warm cup of milk. Why it would take that long to make a drink from a pre-mix is beyond me, and then to make it wrong on top of that for the 2nd time. It was so awful I tossed it in the trash less than a block later. Absolutely useless staff, with horrible customer service, and a waste of money. I wanted to like this place. Were in the library all of the time. Guess Ill walk a little further next time.

The coffee was not good, and the inexperienced barista made it worse. I ordered a quad latte, barista pulled 2 of the shots and put them in the cup, then left them sitting there while she went to take someone elses order, causing the coffee to quickly turn bitter. This is coffee 101, a big no-no. Then another employee came out of the back a couple minutes later and finished the drink. When I took a sip was thoroughly disappointed and how ruined my drink was. Definitely go elsewhere if you want quality coffee.

St. James Espresso is my favorite place to go to for great coffee, pastry, service, and excellent Internet resources and conversation...and for doing virtual work. The retail parking underneath the building is nice too. Ron and his staff are always friendly and helpful and Ron is always coming up with new offerings - e.g. beer and wine, and gourmet chocolates.... and ways to serve his customers as well as the surrounding community. I highly recommend St. James Espresso in downtown Kirkland.

The place went from a nice coffee place to incredibly overpriced, with lousy service most of the time, lacking or mediocre pastries and did I mention overpriced... well, Ill mention it again - its way overpriced for what you get. They have a silly welcome sign where almost everyone is welcome, except for white males, Christians, Hindus, Mayans... you get it, Im sure. One of those PC outfits. Ill never step into the place again, there are plenty of far better choices around.

Ever watched the south park episode with all the crazy old people killing everyone because of their bad driving. Well, St James has been invaded! A once quiet coffee shop, where a phone call could be held on occasion is now gone. Thanks to the development of a few senior centers in kirkland, come 8AM they emerge from their dorms to and occupy 1/3 of the shop. I cant hear myself think. Im off to find a replacement.

Atrocious: This is VERY possibly the worst cafe of all time. Their wifi is absolutely horrible and they dont even try and help. They get their pastries once a week. Their coffee and pastries are bad and overpriced. I got sick, as in a stomach ache, after both times. Their service is horrible. They are only inclusive of certain people, shown on their sign. Overall, a horrible place.

I like St. James Expresso because the vibe is very relaxed and mellow, unlike noisy, sometimes stressed Starbucks. I like to go with a friend and just sit and talk. There are comfortable seating options, from tables to couches and chairs. The barristas always make a good espresso drink. I also like supporting a local small business.

I truly enjoy going to St. James. I meet there once a week with a group of people. I have found the staff to be very attentive and work quickly to fill orders. A true test for the quality of the coffee that is served is to drink it black. St. James passed that test with flying colors.

This is a great place if you need a quiet place to study, do your work, meetings or just hangout with friends or colleagues. The service, coffee & smoothies and bites are good. For those who like playing boardgames theres a whole 20 wall full of games.

This is such a great local coffee shop. They have a wide selection of both coffees and other drinks as well as food. Theres also a great library of board games on site. Perfect place to hang out with friends, relax, study, or even conduct a meeting.

Comfortable, relaxing. Good place to sit and read with your coffee. They have wifi. Only thing I would suggest is more food options, especially around lunch time. The coffee is great and the owner and employees are very pleasant.

Excellent coffees, good breakfast/lunch sandwiches, nice location close to the Kirkland library and pool. The addition of dozens? hundreds? of board games that are available for checkout is a really nice touch on a rainy day!

This is one of the best places in town to get some work done. They have a good internet connection and the service is always friendly. Ive never been keen on Coffee shop food, so I would rate this par for the course.

Almost too popular now. Hard to find a spot to visit or work.Coffee is great as well as service, but it is too small for the amount of people that hang out there.

It was nice that they tried twice to make my coffee while the coffee tasted horrible both times that was also very wasteful.
