Placed an order for pick up. First, they tried to charge me separately for the pancake that came with my meal. Then I get all the way home and the hash browns are not there. So we call back, they say five minutes. So I go back five minutes later, or so, and no member of the staff is anywhere to be seen. I wait at least another 5-10 minutes before they bring out my hashbrowns. Meanwhile my eggs, pancake, and gravy are getting cold. When I mentioned that, I got a "yeah, we should have made the whole meal over", but no actual offer to do so. The cook gave a vague promise of my next meal being on the house, but made no effort to document the promise and made no offer of money being returned. I have been a semi-regular there, and have learned to tolerate slow service, but this was plain bad service. I am not rich, and this 30 dollar meal was meant to be a treat. Instead I had a horrible dinner and, being unable to afford to waste it, I was stuck with it. I am unlikely to return. They only had two other customers at the time, there really was no excuse.

I have never written a review on Google because I have not felt compelled to. My experience at the Wallace Falls cafe in Gold Bar has changed that. I have traveled Hwy 2 for many decades enjoying the long established eateries but the Wallace Falls Cafe offers every type of food served along Hwy 2 and many other dishes exotic to the Monroe-Sultan-Gold Bar-Startup-Index metropolis. It has Vietnamese food as good as found in Seattles international district.and Greek Gryros as good as good as the Turkish Delight in the Pike Place Market. Plus burgers and fries or steak or fish and chips or Jambalaya! The proprietor aims to please and doesnt hesitate at special requests. This is a great new choice for eating along Hwy 2 (great breakfast menu too). Next time I drive Hwy 2 I have eating at the Wallace Falls Cafe on my itinerary.

My husband and I were heading up to Index a few weeks ago and were looking for a cup of coffee. We drove by this cafe and decided we would stop here next time we came up for lunch or dinner as they advertised a special on steak. When we did stop yesterday, we were pleasantly surprised (as the exterior makes it seem like the same old diner spot you find in every small town) to find out they had a Vietnamese menu. We decided on the house special, Mi Quang Pho and it was amazing. We lived in Southeast Asia for a half year, and this really brought us back to those authentic style soups. We just bought a cabin up there, so you can count on us being regulars here on the weekend! The happy hour menu looked pretty wonderful, so that will be our next try at this spot. Thanks for such a wonderful experience!

Vietnamese food. Neither the name nor the store front suggests that theres a diverse menu at this place. I was initially planning on grabbing some breakfast, but since they had an entire page of vietnamese options I figured I should take the opportunity to try something new. The Bahn mi (vietnamese sandwich) was made of THE best french roll; everything inside tasted fresh and it had a nice spicy zip. Luckily I split that with my friend and had a bowl of Mi Quang Pho as well....excellent. The place was nice (clean) and warm inside (just came from a winter hike) and judging by the conversations overheard the locals are happy to have this new business in town. Ill be back.

Great breakfast! Stopped here with my 12 yr old son for a late breakfast after skiing. I had the Eggs Benedict, which I have almost given up ordering in restaurants because it is almost never good. It was fantastic. My son had a side order of one pancake. They put the PAN back in PANCAKE. It is larger than a big plate, fluffy and delicious with warmed up maple syrup for $2.00 (yes $2.00) . Service was also good. I would recommend this place and will be coming back again.

Really nice place and has regular pricing. The owner is extremely sweet and nice and asks about all dietary concerns while you place your order and ensures your order is made to how you like it. She has an ample amount of vegetarian choices ranging from a veg burger to cheese grill sandwich to fried rice to fries as well. I really liked the ambience. Its really nice and relaxed and calm with a lot of natural light. It reminds you of your old American kinda rest stop.

Cute as heck, great staff, the biscuits were perfect, but mostly I have to rave over the sausage gravy ON the biscuits. One of the best Ive ever had!! Might even be the best. And I have tried much of the dish. Biscuits & gravy are one of 3 things Ill stop for if the setting is right. And so very glad I was able to stop for them here. Bravo to this place. Was an appreciated surprise after a hike up the road. I will be frequenting!! Thank You!! Extra Yum!!

When we stopped at this place for lunch on our way from Seattle to Lake Chelan, we were warmly greeted and seated in a comfortable booth. My hamburger and my companions Thai sandwich werent great examples of their kind, but we enjoyed ourselves because the place reeks of good will and good cheer. The chicken fried steak looked yummy. We will try other items on the menu the next time we drive through Gold Bar at meal time.

Best waffles I have EVER had. Cute little small town feel and the staff was so dang sweet and helpful when it comes to the menu. Others in my party had the corned beef hash and the turkey melt and were very impressed. Home style cooking for excellent prices. Thoroughly enjoyed my visit and will be coming back any time we are in the area!

Rating on service and atmosphere alone. We left after sitting down for five minutes without service. Upon entry we were sat by an unfriendly server. We noticed at least four other tables waiting for service before or at the end of their meal. Can say it smelled good, but the place was eerie and didnt seem worth the wait.

Great Food, Always in the need to try something different, but I always go back to my Vietnamese Favorites. Never did I think lettuce would be good in soup, what a interesting surprise. Billy Is an Awesome waiter who builds a FANTASTIC Shake & Root Beer Float. Hugs Are Always Free here too!

Atmosphere is great, food was delicious and the best biscuits and gravy weve had in a long time. Plan to come and take your time; the service isnt fast but its quite friendly, making it a wonderful place to stop and unwind. And theyre kind enough to make sure you know that coming in, too!

I was shocked that a Vietnamese/classic American cafe fusion existed. They have a very interesting menu and incredible food. And yes, Billy is awesome. Im pretty sure I saw him write the ticket and then pass it to himself to fill the order.
