Avenue Cafe, at 427 Capitola Ave. in the Capitola village, is a delightful, gleaming restaurant set in a 100-year-old house. Its located about two blocks from the Capitola Beach. The owner keeps Avenue Cafe spotless, and the shiny yellow walls and charming paned windows give a cheery, inviting appearance. Credit cards are accepted; there is no outdoor seating. Luci N. & I arrived before 9am on a Sunday morning, and before long the little cafe was nearly full. We enjoyed a small bowl of surprisingly appealing fruit, freshly cut, compliments of the owner. We ordered the smoked salmon avocado & eggs benedict ($15), poached eggs on English muffin, with smoked salmon, avocado, Hollandaise sauce. Standard ingredients and assembly, perfectly executed. Id recommend the Avenue Cafe to anyone interested in a breakfast/brunch spot while in Capitola, and while youre at it, take a walk around and check out the village!

I eat, i overHeat, im a Guy, so i really really appreciated the screened open windows. Really. The old famous Mex burrito place has been very tastefully remodeled. The waitress was certainly a cut above; Hard to find that kind of warmth and positive maturity. The menu does not specify, but yes, you do get 2 eggs benedict. I tried the florentine with spinach, tomato chunks and soft ripe avocado slices. Dont you just hate hard sliced avocado? The place was busy! At almost 2pm on a Saturday, that is a Good Sign, for a 2yr old young-an biz. And free un-metered parking on California, by the old corner dive market. Still Happy ;)

Perhaps the best neighborhood cafe in Capitola Village for breakfast. Good food, freshly prepared. While their dining area is small and has a limited number of tables, they are efficient with service, and the wait is never long (benches are available on the patio while you wait for a table during peak hours) And when you are finished, you can walk to the beach, or browse shops in the rest of the village. The perfect stroll on a weekday or weekend morning :)

Small, family run atmosphere. Always a long wait on weekend mornings and almost full on weekday mornings too. Busy busy. Worth the wait? Come check it out first! Gave it a 4 because of their lack of vegan options! Havent tried lunch yet. That will be tomorrow! Everyone is always friendly

Great breakfast menu and friendly staff. Love the burritos and quesadillas. Rather busy and theres often a wait, but it moves quickly. The only negative is that Ive felt rushed to order, rushed to eat and pay.
