We were looking for some Pacific Northwest seafood while in town for a friends wedding, and decided to try FiveSpice. We were not disappointed. The restaurant is located above a lovely neighborhood in downtown Lake Oswego. Parking is easy to find and the area is nice for a pre- or post-dinner stroll. There is a nice walking trail along the lake and a small park-like square with fountains and benches. We opted for a outside table on the balcony overlooking the lake and the square. We were glad we had arrived early because by the time we finished our meal all of the patio tables were occupied. The inside atmosphere is also very nice, but the views from the balcony are really fantastic. The menu is limited, but my wife and I each found something that sounded good, and an appetizer to share. We passed on wine, but did peruse the list and fount it to be extensive, with a lot of options in a wide range of prices. We started with the Fried Five Spice Squid. It is very lightly breaded and fried, served with garlic aioli and a sweet soy based sauce. The spiced breading was a nice touch and really brought out the flavor of the squid. For dinner I had the Grilled Ahi Tuna and my wife ordered the Prawns. Both were delicious. Portion sizes were on the small side, but with the shared appetizer we both left pleasantly full. Throughout the entire meal the service was outstanding. We would gladly recommend this restaurant to our friends. The price was reasonable for the quality of food and service we received, with dinner for two coming in about $65 before tip.

The atmosphere was nice. Ive been to Five Spice many times over the years and have had the same experience. The food is good, the atmosphere is nice but the service is fair at best. We sat in the bar for Happy Hour and were given dirty menus. We asked for clean menus as ours had finger prints and food on them. We were give more dirty menus. I took them back to the hostess and got clean ones. My disappointment was relayed to the other staff and manager. The manager never came over to our table to express his disappointment or concern but stood from afar and looked at us. Ive lived in Lake Oswego for 30 years and have eaten at all the local restaurants. Good food is important but good service is most important when Im out spending money in the community.

This restaurant is a great location, just a stone throw away from the lake. They have a decent set of wines and the best item in the menu is their duet of chicken. Those however, are the only nice things I can say. The culture here has a touch of arrogance, as if they were a top rated restaurant, catering to the rich and famous and service is spotty at best. On our last attempt to eat here we didnt even get served. After bring seated outside, on wet seats, we were given a napkin to stop the wetness and a menu. After watching the waiters walk past and serve other tables for 20 mins and not once stop at our table, we left and went somewhere that wanted our business. As a local, its sad to have such a disappointing option for food.

Five Spice is good for a nice dinner out. The food is well cooked and they have a list of creative cocktails to accompany the menu. While Im not much of a wine person, they do have an extensive wine list. Their happy hour features mainly wine and a couple of cocktails, with some reduced price appetizers to accompany them. It is a little expensive, but thats to be expected with the class of restaurant. Service is usually prompt and courteous.

Ive been here a few times but each time service was terrible, everything was overpriced for the quality that you get, (Im all about spending money on a nice restaurant but not on something worse than a chain restaurant where you could get everything for less than half these prices), I was not impressed with the wine and I doubt many true wine drinkers would be. Go to Nicolettas table or make your own food at home instead!

My experience started with an excellent wine list presented on an iPad. The cheese plate came first, followed by sea scallops and lentils. The food was very good, and the bartenders Blake and Michael were friendly. The restaurant was full and people seemed to be having a good time... lots of laughter. The restaurant is on the waterfront, and they have a great deck to sit on when the weather is good.

We had a very nice dinner and enjoyed the view of Lake Oswego from their outdoor deck overlooking Millenium Park. My wife had scallops and I had the halibut. They were cooked perfectly and the style was very creative. We also were surprised by so many wines by the glass. She likes pinot gris and I like pinot noir so we never order by the bottle. Well definitely return. A great spot for couples of groups.

I was excited to order the Dungeness Crab Benedict but very disappointed when it arrived at the table. Its like wheres the crab! $20.00 for Dungeness Crab Benedict and a $5.00 Cappuccino, ouch. It should be named the Asparagus and Tomato Benedict. Our waitress could hardly crack a smile. Nice atmosphere and beautiful view is about all I can talk away from our visit.

Excellent salad, sturgeon & chocolate cake..service also excellent with Tony and Emily. Adrianne, sommelier, tended to push no-name high profit wines on half price night. Chowder was runny and needed smaller serving. We will be back and hope they increase their clientelle as they closed the kitchen before 8 pm. They need and deserve more business.

Food was not bad. Our daughter supposedly gave us a $150 gift card, the server said there was only $100 on the card. Understanding the waiter would not have the details, I left my name and email for management to check on the card and to get back to me. They never did. That seems to be extremely unprofessional and non-responsive.

My new favorite date night spot with my husband! Great quality plates along with genuinely wonderful service! Romantic outdoor setting is most enjoyable as you sit and enjoy the evening beside the warmth of the fire pit overlooking Lake Oswego.

Nice place with great service. Food is pretty good: Mahi Mahi was very good but the brussel sprouts were boring (boiled and mushy). Also, the red wine was served at room temperature rather than being served from cellar.

Great restaurant with lovely view of River. Be prepared to whip out your wallet though. Its speedy, but worth it for that special night out. Cant afford to go here more than once or twice per year though.

Zeppo was a joke. I was craving seafood paand really expected an amazing dinner. Bread was blah, pasta was cold and something tasted spoiled. Water tasted funny too but the waitress didnt believe me.

I spent my holiday with the kids at Lake Oswego and we went to this restaurant quite a few times. It was amazing. The food was amazing, wine and service were fantastic. Loved the place
