my friends, family and i use to go to this restaurant quit a bit when they first opened up in sunnyvale in 2007 or so and we know the food would be quit good because we had tried their other restaurant in the city of Richmond CA. The food and service was excellent back then with the old crew. Like every business, it has its rise and fall. This restaurant has fallen so hard the last couple of years, it has hit rock bottom with todays dinner. it was my moms birthday, my family went to celebrate her birthday and thinking it was still the old crew from a few years back that it probably hasnt change a lot and were we in for a rude awakening. The service was quit rude, one of the head waiter, the one with a mold on his face and a crew haircut is a thief in a clown suit, he puts on a phony smile, he would only acknowledge and serve you if he remembers and knows you are a good tipper from past visits. im not always a good tipper, but i tip according to level of service, ive occasionally tipped 30-40% from time to time because i recognized great and excellent services. this place has become a joke the last year or so. dont take my word or experience, i encourage all of you go try cooking papa or jade cathay on first st. before or after you go to this place. please do yourself a favor go compare and you will understand the qualify of food and level of service that im discussing in this review.

Ok, I am a Caucasian so I know nothing about real Chinese food but I know comfort food when I taste it and for about $10 bucks you can get a generous order of chow mein with a combination of real nice shrimp, bbq duck slices, real scallops and a few other things all with a perfectly prepared chow mein noodle with soy sauce sauce. Leftovers freeze well and I just cannot get tired of this comfort food. Note: I suggest you order the chow mein extra spicy as it just gets better and better. Finally I ordered something besides the Chow Mein; I ordered the Salt & Pepper Scallops with a side of veggie fried rice and I cannot say anything except YUMMMMM. Even my Asian dinner-mate said it was surprisingly good. Check out the tanks of huge fresh lobsters, fish and believe it or not they keep tanks of their own LIVE shrimp;, just fantastic sales tool as my mouth just waters looking at that fresh seafood. I have never been to a restaurant which keeps it shrimp alive in tanks. Cool Crustaceans! As for the service; well lets just say that they take great care in preparing your food but they dont give a hoot what you think polite service should be like. No biggie; if the place was perfect it would cost more!

Ive only come here for morning weekend dim sum. Pro tips: 1. Come early, preferably before 11 AM. 2. Come with your entire party, or theyll skip to the next group. 3. Try to bring 4-10 people, since dim sum is all about groups. 4. Be assertive. Get to the front of the line to the woman with the list. 5. Be prepared to wait. Food: 5 The food is fantastic. I always get the cha siu bao (bbq pork buns), the green onion dumplings, the soup dumplings (at least two orders of those), and the taro buns. The taro buns are the things on trays that you might see coming out of the kitchen occasionally. Flag the guy carrying them, and get at least one plate of those! Theyre delicious. Also, get the taro dumplings with crispy coating. Oh, and the coconut gelatin thing. Service: 2 If you go here, its because you know the food is delicious and you want to spend time with people you care about. If you wanted good service, go to a different restaurant.

I can never pass up a good dim sum place. Forget good, cuz this place is GREAT! HK saigon is dominted by biiiig asian families ranging from canto to mainland to viets! The service was amazing: the managers helped pick up dirty plates, refill tea, and bring out hot+fresh orders for customers. 6 starts out of 5 for the management! Onto the food, you musttt get the EVER-FAMOUS "dessert" that is cotton-light and fluffy dough encircling the inner delights of taro goodness! Get it ordered to your table, because its best when straight outta the oven! Enjoyed scarfing down other delights like the traditional siu mai, dan ta (egg tart dessert), various tofu mini plates, xian sui jiao (shaped like deep fried footballs), and tsa sao su! Will def come here again--worth the wait of about 20 mins (dont be discouraged by the throngs of waiting customers outside)!!

Im tired of making excuses for the poor quality of restaurants in this area; very few of them would last a minute on the east coast. Including this one -- Saigon Harbor. Flavor in their dim sum is amped up by the liberal application of salt, which hides the fact that there isnt much else going on. All that salt means you need water. But surprise! This restaurant is literally the first I have been to that *charges you* $0.75 for a glass of tap water. Which means one of two things: Theyre so cheap that theyre cutting corners everywhere to save money, or they just figure they can overcharge because theyre popular. I dont like either. Makes me wonder what else theyre doing to "save water": Proper washing of dishes? Who knows. Ill try to find another, somewhat less crappy dim sum restaurant in the area. Not getting my hopes up, though.

We were here for dinner . Unfortunately our server wasnt helpful at all . Firstly his body language suggested that we shouldnt be there coz its expensive . He didnt tell us that none of the dishes we ordered came along or not with rice . When we enquired about the crab he kept telling us its expensive . Dude we know the place is expensive remeber we came here and we are looking at your menu . The moment we asked him about what all is the sea food thats in the chow mein he kept his hand on his hip, took his pen and randomly started pointing at stuff on the menu . Its was a sad experience. Why would you keep a server thats not an asset to your reataurant. Zhou liang. Iam sorry but all the other staff was great and helpful. The food was ok.

The dim sum was great, but the bad service spoiled the experience. The place offers certain items -- like tarot buns and pork belly soup -- that are not commonly found in other places. The items arrive in carts, so customers can pick what they want -- a setup thats especially useful for those who do not read Chinese. There is usually a wait to be seated, a clear sign of the restaurants popularity. However, a couple of dim sum cart-pushers with really awful attitude marred our experience. My moms simple inquiry into the availability of chicken feet was met with an incredibly rude response. (Essentially, "I have only one. If youll take it, take it. If not, I dont care.") Even though I like the dim sums taste, I probably wouldnt go back.

Dim Sum. The reason to come visit is for a wide variety of affordable but delicious dim sum platters. Come early to avoid longer lines or pick up a number, hang out at the nearby Quickly, then come on back. You should, however, brace yourself for functional and efficient, but cold service. The place is famous the Bay Area round for its taro buns, but the restaurant curiously refuses to meet demand with supply. If you come too early, they wont have started making them yet. If you come too late, they will stop baking any more. When a tray of fresh buns come out, I recommend walking over and personally requesting a plate before they all run out. Despite these known issues, this is my goto place for dim sum. Give it a try!
