I was pretty excited to get a table on Mothers day 5/8/2016 at Wild Ginger, even though we had to go to Bellevue. We always go to the Wild Ginger in Seattle and we have always had fabulous experiences. I just couldnt get a table in Seattle. That should have been my first clue to the worst service I have ever had at a high end restaurant. The food, as usual, was excellent. However, service can really ruin ones experience or make it the best. The service (or lack of)started when we requested to order a bottle of wine, and the server never go back to us, until after the food had arrived, approximately 20 minutes later. He was able to decrease the price of the bottle of wine. So we were able to move forward and take the comp . However, that isnt where poor service stopped. He forgot beers for the men, and basically flat out ignored us. We ordered a dessert wine with the dessert, (when we finally caught him) which never came. We were getting ready to go and he brought it! I refused the wine, but he said that he would comp that so we all shared it as I had lost ay taste for more wine. He, as I am accustomed to with high end restaurants, failed to check in with us, unless we caught him as he was walking by, we would not be able to order or request anything. I will not return there again, It really dampened my mothers day.We spent well over $275 for this meal for my husband and 3 adult children. Not acceptable service! Very sad…

Wild Ginger does not have as tasty of Thai/Chinese food as you could get from a more authentic restaurant, but it elevates the food with a downtown Bellevue ambience and service that you wouldnt get at a more authentic place. No paper napkins and wooden chopsticks here! Sub a location next to Jimmy Choo with validated parking and dim mood lighting. The prices are inflated to match, so a decision has to be made -- do you want better food or ambiance? (Though, Bai Tong has both for Thai food.) We had the: Pad Thai -- Very subtle sweet flavor. Definitely not "ketchupy" like some American Pad Thai can be, but almost too subtle in flavor. Sichuan Green Beans -- like gan bian si ji dou. Delicious. Great bite to the beans still left. Green Curry Chicken -- Chicken was tender and flavorful. Seven Flavor Beef -- when I saw how drenched in sauce this beef was, it did make me think of a fancier orange chicken. Very sweet, but a guilty pleasure. Mango Sorbet -- now, this was good! Mango with twists of lime on top. Ive had better food elsewhere, but I think Wild Ginger is good for a fancier dinner if youre craving Asian food

I had a wonderful experience at the downtown Wild Ginger, so I had high hopes. The service and staff here were good (10/13/09 - these reviews should be ephermal), and the food was really good, but not spectacular. But the main problem I had was that I got stood up. I spent two hours sitting in the bar at a table for two, obviously some chump who got stood up. What has this to do with a review of the restaurant? Quite a bit. Meantime, in the UPSTAIRS BAR (who would ever think a restaurant has TWO ENTRANCES, TWO FLOORS, TWO BARS), a rather beautiful French lady was sitting there, obviously stood-up, bewailing her fortune. The upstairs staff consoled her; the downstairs staff consoled me. The staff knew they had two floors, two entrances, two bars... sigh. This is still hot off the presses: I dont yet know if I can repair this damage...

The food is very pricey and on the small side. The atmosphere is relaxing, but the other locations and decor were more intimate and in keeping with the food theme. A group sitting across the room from our booth asked to be re-seated after about 30 minutes of appetizers and drinks where they were. They were re-seated in the booth behind us. One of the ladies in the group must have doused herself with an entire bottle of perfume. The smell was overwhelming and ruined the taste of our food (while also causing coughing, sneezing, watering eyes in all of our party). I love light perfumes and colognes, but I was in a huge hurry to leave and breathe fresh air. It ruined our dinner.

We went to the Seattle location for dinner. Their vegan menu options were great. I had the lemon grilled tofu and the vegan Thai noodles (so good) for around $12 and my husband had the pad Thai with prawns for around $14. I dont usually like pad Thai but that was delicious. Their lunch prices were 2-3 dollars cheaper per entree. The plates of noodles were HUGE and we definitely did not need an appetizer. The atmosphere was fun and classy, the staff was attentive even while busy (a bit of lag time but nothing ridiculous--their friendliness and eSe made up for it). You could definitely spend some serious money there but it is not necessary in order to enjoy quality food.

The food was good. However, when a group of my friends and I came in, we were treated rudely. Our server lackadaisically took our order. Then they must have heard us talk about the bad service or something as the chicken plate came out 15 minutes before the rest of our food. who does that?! The chicken plate was the one my friend ordered who was talking about the service. In the rice of the dish, there was a piece of hair! We spoke to the manager about the service and he said that we would be taken care of . But there was no apology or complimentary off the bill. We did notice a big difference in our servers attitude but it seemed like a slap in the hand....

New Location; AVOID, Hair in Food/No Happy Hour After years of going to the Seattle and Bellevue Wild Ginger, decided to try the new place. First off, there was no longer a happy hour menu for food! Secondly, no more duck sliders(their specialty) and no more Buddha Rolls. Menu was much different. Ordered Phad Thai, which was OK, but half way through eating discovered hair in the food! Got a substitute dish, which also wasnt good. In other words, dont bother with the new location, its gone downhill. Avoided 1 star because the service was friendly/good.

Love Wild Ginger. This was my first time at the Bellevue location. Started with Green Dragon and Spicy Pineapple Margarita cocktails. GD was excellent and the Pineapple Marg was good, but a bit too spicy. Kobe beef satay was awesome and wish we wouldve ordered more. Fragrant duck with buns and Hanoi tuna were exactly as expected and delicious. Sichuan green beans are always a must when eating here. Was given a free slice of Rich Chocolate Torte as is was my birthday, but wouldve gladly paid for it as it was fantastic, perfect for sharing. Will be back.

Its one of the good Thai restaurant Ive visited. Starters: Definitely try Thai Chicken Satay and Lemongrass Chicken Satay , its just too yummy to resist. Might want to avoid Buddha Veggie Roll, its tasteless and spice less. For the main dish: if you plan to get Angkor Wat Chicken, its Yummy but doesnt have too much sauce in it. The Monks Curry is too bland, so if you looking for something spicy, this is not the dish Ambiance is great, service is a little slow but it’s understandable for such a huge restaurant.
