This place used to serve fantastic food. They used fresh ingredients and wonderful spices. Now, they seem to have moved to some frozen ingredients and SUGAR. Steamed rice is no linger complimentary and their fried rice tastes like instant rice and grease. If you ever thought you might like to sprinkle sugar on your Chinese food, or you like the taste of grease-soaked fried rice, this is your place! I understand that different recipes are different recipes, but I prefer to eat Chinese recipes with no sugar. Will not return.

Whats "happy" --funny really, in an ironic way-- about this restaurant is the sourness of the waiter and waitress we experienced. The first time we ate here we experienced grumpy waitpeople who are eating when they should be waiting on their customers! "Ah, excuse me, could we have more rice please?" Nevertheless, we gave them a second chance another night. Same story. Never went back. Typical Chinese flavorings.

Maybe I was just unlucky but I decided to try this place out, unfortunately my first experience was sub-par. I ordered the lunch special and the portions they gave me I feel didnt reflect the price point. I was still hungry afterwards, and the waiter gave me my bill before I was done eating. Giving someone their bill before they are done is poor etiquette, its like telling a customer to hurry up.

The Happy Garden is your next favorite Chinese restaurant. It has a wide variety of dishes made with top quality ingredients in an authentic style. The atmosphere is informal, but the staff is attentive and treats customers like family. Be sure to check out the specials on the whiteboard as you enter and dont be afraid to ask for recommendations when you order.

I have been there many many many times and always have great service. Today the waiter took my order and as hes walking away he asked me which type of rice I wanted, still walking away. I had to shout my answer He never asked for a drink order. I finally had to ask for something to drink with my meal. Ive never had a bad experience there until today.

My favorite place to get Chinese in Chico. One thing you may not know is that they have the best Pho in Chico also, more flavor than you get at other places. The five stars are for service, food consistency, and price. Another dish you can get specially made is Shanghai noodles (YUMMY). You really cannot beat this place for the area.

first time visiting this place. Service was definitely 5 stars. The food was 4, everything was really good but Expected more from the fried rice. Definitely recommend their chow mein, dry braised chicken, and cream cheese crab won tons. Price was also 5 stars. Hope this place is consistent.

Firstly, I really like that they bring you tea without having to be asked. They were also very friendly, and the prices are very reasonable (I had a special, at less than $10) and the portion was enormous! Overall, very good cheap Chinese food!

Best hot and sour soup ever!!! Crab wantons... Staff are so nice and friendly; one even came to our table to help show us how to properly do our egg foo yung. Food is not greasy. Cant say enough nice things about this place.
