This is not a bad place to get your coffee and snack. It is always busy and when an event is ongoing, it is always crowded. Plan accordingly. They make an Irish coffee that is very good and you can get it with Bailys or Jameson. They make a frozen version that is perfect for those time when it is hot out and you want to sit outside. Great choice of snacks or deserts. The outside sitting area could be larger. They have a bowl of water out for dogs on warm days so that is a nice touch. When busy it gets very loud. So if you are trying to have a conversation with friends, keep that in mind. Most time it isnt too bad. During the fall and winter, the college students tend to camp at a table with their laptops and take over an entire table. This is a bit annoying if you come with friends and they only have tables for two available. The coffee is very good and they have multiple versions of coffee drinks. Some are very strong. My orders here have been very ocnsistent so I feel comfortable that when I order something I liked in the past that it will come out this time the same way.

We found Aromas when we wanted to stop for a good cup of coffee after dinner while on vacation in Williamsburg. The fact that they were open until 10 PM was an immediate plus for us since we had a bit of a late dinner. We were greeted by two friendly young ladies immediately upon walking in and went up to order lattes (4 of them). They made them promptly and while doing so gave us some great information about the area. The lattes were perfect and made with great quality, one of the best lattes we have enjoyed in a long time! However, the icing on the cake was when the barista informed us of a personal creation/favorite of hers, after which she proceeded to quickly make one for us simply to try and enjoy. Along with our lattes, we also ordered a piece of their homemade pecan pie and had to fight over who got the crumbs off the plate. I would highly recommend anyone who is in the area, whether for vacation or permanent residents, to stop by here and enjoy all of their amazing drinks and food. We are going to make it a point to stop here again before the end of our vacation!

My wife and I just ate at Aromas tonight. There was live music playing when we arrived and the whole room pulsed with an upbeat, fun atmosphere. The staff was engaging and helpful as soon as we came in. I had grilled Ahi tuna with black bean and corn salsa on spinach. (It was a daily special which Im told the chef never repeats) It was probably the best seafood I have ever eaten! My wife had blackened salmon over mixed grains which was also exceptional. Each was under $15 and, based on their quality, were worth 3 times that price. We took a Snickers latte and slice of chocolate overload cake to go as well. The cake was very good, but not quite to the level of the entrees. The latte, though, had us planning to return for a morning start. Our only regret is that we dont live close enough to become regulars!

The coffee was tasty and the pecan pie was tasty but... The pecan pie was hot when I asked for it cold, I didnt complain, it was still nice. The milk in my cappuccino was scorched - 140F maximum please! I didnt complain because, usually, places that scorch the milk dont understand what youre talking about when you complain or they say something like, "but people complain its not hot enough otherwise". And the hot pecan pie arrived a short eternity before the scorched coffee so I had to stand at the counter looking at it thinking they had forgotten my coffee. Seeing as I am complaining now, Ill just add that its a shame they serve the coffee in paper cups and food on disposable Styrofoam plates, even when youre having it in.

Probably one of the best cafés Ive ever been to so far. The atmosphere was most unique; very homey, eclectic art pieces, and a playful interior design. The food was PHENOMENAL! I ordered their traditional french toast with a side of eggs and it was design. There was a slight crisp around the french toast and a soft middle. My boyfriend ordered their breakfast burrito and it was delicious. The tortilla was crispy and cooked perfectly. I had to restrain myself from ordering anything else. I still ordered a second coffee but after that I regained my self control haha! Yes this place CAN be crowded, but can you blame them? Everyone wants their food and service! Theyre fast, kind, food is perfect and overall amazing!

I have a love/hate relationship with Aromas. While the food can be good (Im a huge fan of the Curried chicken salad sandwich) the layout is just absolutely chaotic. You order everything at once but have to go to two separate locations to pick up your drinks and food. The drink orders take forever, so if youre getting something beyond a standard cup of coffee be sure you dont have anywhere you need to get to quickly. Nice place to go to study but if youre having an intimate lunch/dinner date/meet-up youre going to spend too much time running around the restaurant to get everything.

Terrible staff! I have never been treated so rudely. Staff were not that young considering most customers were college students therefore ignorance and age were not factors of their attitudes- they were truly ungrateful to their customers. Rude. Arragant. Management obviously needs some direction on training their staff to better serve the public! With so many places to go in Williamsburg I wouldnt waste your money here where the drinks and food is mediocre and the staff are anything but plesant or helpful.

Weve vacationed in Williamsburg since the 1980s and discovered Aromas a few years ago. We make it our business to return every summer. Weve never expreienced any service issue, like other revieiwers. They serve more than coffee. The daily specials are the best deal in Merchant Square and the desserts are outstanding! The coffee is great, and if youre in the mood for something stronger, you can have that too! This is a diamond in the rough that many visitors overlook.

Very trendy and fun coffee place. Its a great place to go meet friends or hang outside at on a nice day. Their coffee and other drinks are great and their breakfast food is decent. I have never been for dinner. It can be very crowded due to proximity to the college. Lots of students will study there even though it gets a little noisy inside inside at times. Occasionally they have live music in the evenings. If youre visiting Williamsburg, you should definitely stop in.

Ive never had such abysmal service in my life. They took our order and then the five employees stood around staring at the wall for fifteen minutes until we went to ask if they were going to make our coffee. There were no other people who had ordered after us, no reasonable distractions, just a bunch of dumbfounded people who seemed incapable of realizing that after taking our money they had to... do something.

Ok drinks and they allow dogs, but very vapid and rude college age blonde woman that worked there. I asked a question and she didnt answer me to where I could here, and when I asked again, gave me a strange look and seemed like she wished she could just disappear at that moment and teleport somewhere else. Somewhere like this needs staff with a bit more personality and charm.
