Mediocre at best. We went there a while ago, but I had a fish special - Wasabi Tempura Tuna (I think it was tuna at least... its been a while). It had neither heat nor flavor like a Wasabi dish should, and was completely disappointing. It wasnt served with any kind of sauce either, which could have turned this into something that was at least palatable. I expressed my concerns to our waitress and she brought out a cup of some Raspberry Chipolte sauce in an effort to give the dish some spice, which was just revolting. It didnt go with the dish and didnt taste very good on its own, either. My husband had steak and while it was perfectly fine, it certainly didnt wow him for the price. Both of our dishes were under-seasoned and lacking flavor. I admit that since we only went once, we could very well have just made bad menu choices, but under-seasoning and no flavor isnt necessarily specific to one dish. We havent gone back, though, and have no intention of doing so. Since we live in Carlisle, wed rather make the drive elsewhere.

If you live in the area and havent eaten at Cafe Magnolia yet, then you should make it a priority. My fiancee and I stopped in for lunch earlier today and Im really glad we did - the food here is phenomenal. Coupled with the excellent service and great ambience, this has easily become a top contender for our go-to restaurant in the area. I had "Jess favorite salad in the whole world" which is an amazing combination of coconut crusted chicken (or shrimp if you prefer) with fresh strawberries, field greens, and nuts in a poppy dressing (pictures). My fiancee had the chicken salad sandwich with a side of sweet potato fries; both of our meals were excellent and well definitely be coming back here again, most likely soon. Highly recommended.

We have not been to Cafe Magnolia in several years and were eager to go back. It was disappointing to say the least. One of our party got trout. She said it was good but was put off by it being served skin side up. Perhaps we are not as refined as some but she did not care to eat fish skin. Along with another review, stay away from the risotto. It was a tasteless paste. The food service was slow but the wait staff was friendly. My lobster soup was Ok. It actually contain two small pieces of something that my have been lobster. I doubt if we will return any time soon.

We like coming here from our office out of Rossmoyne Business Park for an occasional lunch out on the deck. The food is always great but the service is typically a little slow, especially if you need to get back to work. Today I enjoyed The "Noah" Sandwich. Its a turkey sandwich which was nice and juicy and full of flavor. The pricing is good about $10 for the sandwich along with tasty chips a, deli pickle and a water. They give you a nice size lemon to go with your water. When you get your check they always give you a chocolate mint Andes.

A cute little out of the way place! Nice homey decor. Food was good. Crab cakes with coconut risotto was very good. Siracha burger was notable. Ravioli with the portbella balsamic is a bit strong on the balsamic, but if you really balsamic it may be right up your alley. Staff was good. Attentive and efficient. Food arrive reasonably promptly. Nice little place for a meal. Deck area looks nice but not open yet as it is very early spring still. Good place. Worth trying it out.

My favorite power lunch spot by far. The food is awesome and the service is spectacular. I am never disappointed with the quality fresh ingredients. They make me look like a hero with my friends and clients. I am now a regular and can honestly say that I have NEVER had a bad meal. Awesome salads, sandwiches and great dinner entrees too. Be sure to bring your own wine for a romantic evening out. Thanks for being the best kept secret in Mechanicsburg!!!!!

I was excited at the prospect of receiving a nice sized lemon to go with my water. Ultimately, I was disappointed to find the lemon accompanying my water was cut down to the standard serving size. However, the day was saved by the crab cake. All lump with no filler just like momma used to make. Strange that sweet potato fries were the side though. I will be back.

Ordered the three bacon lobster risotto EPIC FAIL. The risotto was not fully cook and I was very dissatisfied. The lobster bisque was flavorless. For the cost I expected extremely good food and was totally let down. I would not recommend this place to anyone. My husbands salmon was soggy but like always he never complained.

I absolutely love Cafe Magnolia...their food is sensational and their service is speedy and exceptional. I love the variety of choices & my favorite thing to get is Jesss Favorite Salad. I would go there for every meal out if I could...Great for special occasions and better for lunch if just casual dining.

This is, hands down, my favorite restaurant in the camp hill & mechanicsburg area. Its not a chain and it has a good selection of delicious food. It has healthy options, its nice and quiet, and the staff is very friendly. You can also reserve a table online, which is very convenient.

Consistency here is lacking. Quality is always at least good, but you can order the same dish on multiple different occasions, and youll get vastly different portion sizes. Food is good, selection doesnt change much over time. BYOB, and make reservations if its a weekend!

Huge portions (you pay for it), but the food isnt that tasty. I got lasagna and the sauce was a basic, unsalted, chunky red sauce. I was definitely the youngest by 30 years. Not a con; just a measure of the clientele. Service was good and the staff was friendly.

Today at lunch we had the Shrimp & Corn Soup, Citrus Spinach Salad, & Turkey Club Wrap... great food. Sarah M was our server. She was quick and very friendly. We always enjoy having her serve us. If you havent tried Café Magnolia, youre missing out on a true gem!

The ambience of the place is nice enough. And that they have an outdoor option is very nice. Service is just fine. Generally, the food is okay, though I would avoid the risotto. It comes out more like mush.

Always a delicious, well cooked meal at Cafe Magnolia. This is our favorite restaurant for special occasions or for date night. BYOB is an extra perk which saves a lot of money on special occasions.
