first time eating there and I must say I wont be back.....MPs and Montego, here I come. I ordered the curry chicken lunch special for me, my mom and my daughter. We all wanted different sides:daughter wanted Mac n chesse with yellow rice; mom wanted rice and peas with collard greens and I wanted white rice and cabbage. The young lady is ringing up our order and walks away to play with a little baby, so I am waiting for her to put my order in and tell me my total so we can pay for it. So Im looking around to see whats going on, she comes around the corner after going to the back with the baby and says the lunch special only comes with the sides steamed rice and cabbage. So Im asking why didnt someone say that earlier and the cashier is like I didnt know and then I proceeded to say there is no sign up for the lunch special saying that, there was another young lady beside the cashier and told her to go to the back and ask the cook if they would make an exception, the cashier then proceeded to say he already said just the cabbage and steamed rice, my mom and daughter cancelled their order but I kept mine since those were the sides I wanted. I wish I would have cancelled my order as well....the rice was hard, there was hardly any sauce, and I had to add salt and pepper to my food, which I never have to do for Jamaican food....I will be sticking with MPs and montego, you can get any sides you want regardless of its a lunch special or not and the food taste good

Absolutely the best Caribbean restaurant in Hampton roads. Im qualified to sit in judgement because I am Jamaican and a great cook myself. Not everyone can please my palate. Ive eaten there every day of the week. Their cuisine has been fresh , well seasoned , plated superbly and above all consistent. The owners and staff are really really nice people. Customer service is excellent. I am proud of this establishment and highly recommended Jam Cafe. You have done the Caribbean community well. Best of wishes and much success.

Instantly fell in love! The service was incredible. Woman who took my order was so sweet and very attentive. She said the jerk chicken was spicy and she wasnt lying!! It was so delicious and they had it ready to go in the crockpot so there was no wait time. Great place to grab lunch if youre in a hurry! Cream soda is also delicious. Inexpensive menu and I cant wait to go back and try the curry chicken.

Pleasant experience. Great service staff I was convinced I couldnt find great Caribbean food in Virgina beach since Id already experienced the lackluster restaurants in my area. Blown away by the quality of seasoning and it reminds me of back home. I will be back with friends

Absolutely amazing food. Giant portions... fantastic service. Only downside is the wait to get in and you may eat way too much. Once you are in food is pretty quick. We had a party of seven. All ordered different things. Everything was phenomenal.
