The Back Deck is a little bit hidden but the determined will find it easily enough behind a fish shop. The bar overlooks a small fueling dock and pier for boats to pull up. The vibe is dockside laid back with a sprinkle of trendy. The view is particularly good during sunset. There is no official server (meaning 2 or 3 will come by) and tables and bar spaces are claimed via hovering over a vacated spot before the table is turned over. Service, quality, and location grants 3 stars. The drinks are weak, had 4 hurricanes each slightly different and left disappointed. Recommend spiking your own drinks, at least they use real juice. No live music on Saturday, maybe too small a place for a band. -2 stars, there are better options in Va Beach.

If it wasnt for the festive occassion of our family celebrating a graduation i would have had a terrible culinary and food service experience. One of our patrons asked for a water without a lemon and the server chose to snatch the lemon off the rim of the cup and says "there ya go!" The food was dry and if it wasnt for me walking to the down to earth and nice bartender i would have never received a refill on my cup of water. We are a 10 top for christ sake and im the only one who currently has a full cup of water. Because i got it myself. Thanks bartender

Service was slow and terribly unorganized, though not unfriendly. A waitress took our drink orders and went to bring us menus, and then another came and offered to do the same. I declined, as I thought we were being taken care of, but the original waitress had forgotten us entirely and we waited half an hour before getting her attention and asking for the drinks and menus. The food was pretty good, but not good enough for the price. Would not recommend.

Are you looking for a place where you can drink beer and stare out on the water without having to valet park your car and wait in line to get drinks? This is definitely it and you dont need to worry about someone spilling their drink on you because they arent mature enough to know when they have had too much. The selection is pretty good and you are very close to the water.

This is a hidden TREASURE!!!!!! The market has awesome gifts and seafood to purchase. If you go around back on the deck theres a great bar and menu with excellent food! All the seafood is fresh from the water right there! Between that & the views, it doesnt get any better. :)

Great view and great menu and drink selection. I had a pale ale and fish tacos. The tacos were fresh and delicious. Afterwards I ordered a Summer Breeze cocktail. Please visit this little spot on the water. The staff is nice and the service is prompt.

Excellent place to grab a drink or a casual meal. Food is good, waterfront atmosphere and views are excellent, and the staff is awesome. Major shout out to Wes, Sam, Mel, and all the rest of the staff. Also best happy hour around any day of the week.

The Back Deck is a great place to have a drink and or some great seafood on the deck right on the Lynnhaven Inlet. Great view, great staff and the Scallop Sliders will knock your socks off. Also great are nachos, and Shrimp, and Salads etc.

Best atmosphere of the seafood places in the area. Food is good although nothing is fried. I wanted fried that day, but settled for a shrimp salad which I enjoyed and was later happier to have avoided the grease. The wife liked it!

Its an absolutely gorgeous location with excellent seafood. Fresh and no frills, literally on the water. Service is a bit poor, so dont come in a hurry. Great place to sit back, relax, and enjoy yourself.
