The first time my family ate here, everything was wonderful, service, food made to our specifications, everything. We came back for Mothers day and everything was horrible!! There was only one waitress/hostess for the entire Resturant and there was a good bit of people there, our food was made way too hot, we ordered mild and medium, we couldnt even eat our food, our mouths Burt so badly! my husband never got his food, it was sitting in the back(The manager told us this) neither did my nephew until an hour later, the other tables that arrived after us about 30 mins after we were there got their food, when we brought it to the attention to the waitress/hostess the manager came out, she told us that she was only allowed to comp the hummus that we ordered, and made excuses about the cook being new!!! Because we ate a piece of the chicken!! How else are you to try your food if you dont taste it!! We should have been compensated for the meals that we couldnt eat, instead we paid for them and left!!!! We will not be back.

If I could give this restaurant more than five stars, I would. Coastal Spice has easily become my favorite place to eat in Virginia Beach. The minute you walk in the door, you are met with the most amazing smell of spices coming from the kitchen. The owner and employees are the kindest, most genuine people I have ever met and they will truly go above and beyond to provide you with an enjoyable experience. You wont find food and service as good as it is here in any of the surrounding restaurants nearby. I have dined in, as well as ordered take-out many times, and every time my order has been made perfectly. Before Coastal Spice, I had never tried Indian food, but now I consider it something I cant live without! As a vegan, I was so excited to find a restaurant that is more than accommodating, and that even has vegan items clearly marked on the menu. I cant recommend this place enough- it is absolutely wonderful!

I love this place. And before you read my review, let me tell youb that I am very high on critqe if Indian restaurant do not carry authentic Indian food. Having said that I am a die hard fan of Indian food. Anywhere I go in states and the first place I look for is authentic Indian restaurants. We recently moved to VA Beach and during my internet search I found Coastal Spice. We tried their buffet and it was delicious, not to mention the services were good too. Surag , one of the guys there is very humble and helping. I remember we were driving from NY to VA and our arrival time was right after their buffet closing time. Surag went extra miles to pack and make it a TO Go buffet for us, I mean I have never seen that ever in my life. If you are in VA Beach, this is a must try place for Indian food. Enjoy!!

First thing you should know is if youre looking for an authentic Indian cuisine experience you will not find it here. This restaurant was as westernized as they come. Now I will admit that the curry itself was good, but the overall experience was not worth the trip. The papad, which we had to pay for unlike all other Indian restaurants Ive been to, tasted like pure pepper for some reason. And the chutney was just flavorless. The water was clearly unfiltered tapwater. And then the waiter actually raised his voice to my wife when she asked him to take back a dish. It was all just a misunderstanding, but a professional waiter should know better.

My girlfriend and I went here for lunch and was pleasantly surprised to find it so appetizing. We chose to both have the buffet and it was great because it had a great choice of vegetarian options since Im a pescatarian. One of the things we both were beyond pleased with was the coffee. It was amazing and absolutely delightful. The atmosphere was very nice, peaceful and calm. The decor was modern and very clean with an older selection of music. The staff was very attentive and our waiter was spot on with refills and answering any questions about anything on the menu.

Coastal Spices food isnt great. It is bland, and is made poorly. For all vegetarians: do NOT go here! The buffet has little selection, and less than half of the items are veg. Also, do not look at your bill while you are eating, as the price is ludicrous. For a family of 4 buffet: $60!!! Do yourself a favor and go to Masala Bites instead, as it is cheaper and the food is much tastier. However, the service is good and the servers are efficient and polite. Overall, there are just much better options if you are looking for an Indian restaurant in VA Beach.

My wife recently introduced me to this place and Ive really taken to it. Ive never had Indian food prior to eating here, but this place gave me a great first impression. We went there for lunch once and there was a buffet available for us to try various curries - which was really great for someone like me whose never had Indian food before. We just recently went there again for dinner and the food was awesome once again. I wasnt too crazy about the fact that we had to pay for bread though - something that was included in the lunch buffet.

“as indian i would say -go for Indian food” we were craving for Indian food and I desperately wanted dal tadka (yellow lentil). We chose this over Nawab because of this only. We settled and I told server my preferences and asked him to prepare like my way. But the server was not at all aware of Indian food, guess he was American. at least you should know what you are serving. Anyway, we ordered dal tadka/bhindi fry/paneer and all were good in taste. We finished the food just in minutes. service was little slow but overall good food.

Nice looking place, but issues with food. Samosas were apparently a frozen food as they still had chunks of ice in them. Told the waitress and they brought more cooked through. Biryani was also served with a raw dough top. When we brought this to the waitresses attention, she had the cook come out and he said that was how it was supposed to be. Sorry, but raw dough is not sage to serve. They did not remove any of the undercooked food from our bill. Not a great experience.

We were served Malai Kofta which has Raisin and Tutti Frutti ( where in the world do you see Malai Kofta prepared with that), just not done there; one we were served on 22nd Feb was the mixture from Valentines day special, do you believe it. Very pricy menu for bland and tasteless food. We were given a fresh order again as to-go, trust me, I cant dare to eat food from this restaurant never again

Perfect Indian Fine Dining and the best I visited so far in Virginia beach area. Centrally located, clean, great ambiance & nice staff. The owner is always present and he is very friendly and makes amazing cocktails if you want to hang out by the bar on a quiet evening. Good spread in the lunch buffet. Strongly recommend if youre looking for authentic Indian Cuisine in Virginia beach
