We absolutely loved this place which totally blew away our expectations. We had the Smoked Gouda Mac and Cheese appetizer which was rich, creamy, and smokey. I could have licked the bowl. Then I had the Front Porch club, on a toasted Ciabatta which had roast chicken breast and a delicious blend of flavors. The wife had a Vege wrap that was big and delicious. Both came with perfectly made homemade Cole slaw. Then desert, Oh desert, save room! We had Chocolate gelato bomb and lemon sorbet. The gelato bomb had Chocolate and another flavor ice cream (we are still debating, it disappeared so fast) separated by slivered almonds and covered in a thick layer of rich delicious frozen dark chocolate. The lemon sorbet is served frozen inside a large frozen lemon. The lemon is hollowed out and replaced with the fabulous naturally flavored sorbet. Both are garnished with a variety of delicious fresh berries. BRAVO! The waitress was very nice and attentive. We had the pleasure of meeting the owner who was a delight. We will be back. I would give this place 10 stars if I could, it was that good. Note. This is an honest review. We have no association with the restaurant or anyone that works there.

F -. After waiting an hour outside, I was told by the waitress that she forgot to place the food order with the kitchen. You only have one job, take our order and give it to the kitchen. We will never be back. Manager, host and waitress were rude and incompetent. Management must of changed, this used to be a great place. We had very high hopes, but things have taken a big dive for the Front Porch in The Plains. F- To Johns review: The F word is the only word that adequately describes a situation where we had been waiting patiently for an hour outside in the cold and our waitress casually mentions; with no apology that our food order was not given to the kitchen. In the span of an hour she did not check in on us once. When we arrived she was handling a total of three tables, not exactly bursting at the seems. Had she merely come back to our table after 15 min, she would have realized her error and could of corrected it. Now to your point as to her having other duties? What exactly were her other responsibilities? She had write our order, then give it to the kitchen. Was it my job to check with the kitchen to ensure properly delivery of the ticket?

While they are definitely experiencing "catastrophic success" in the six weeks they have been open, and could use some help with better wait staff, the management and chef seem to be committed to serving up a great experience and fabulous food. We were there at the same time as the other rater whose food order wasnt placed by the server after an hour, and while that isnt acceptable at all, his reaction was completely and utterly inhuman - no one should be treated the way he treated the hard working people in this cozy little place. Placing the order is NOT the only thing a server has to do as a job. He screamed the F word in front of 8 year old children with an unnecessary rage and acted like he owned the joint - which he didnt. Calm down, people. If you dont like the service, just vote with your feet and walk away. We, on the other hand, cannot wait to go back and experience the warmth and good food this establishment has to offer...

Horrible service tonight from a very passive aggressive waitress who was very inattentive to our minimal requests. My wife asked for extra jalapenos for her drink and never got them. We were left on the front porch waiting for over 30 minutes for our food which then came out at the wrong time. Then asked me if I was finished after telling her I was not she took my plate and said Ill get you a box. I ended up leaving without my food due to an excessive wait. The food was decent as far as fine dining goes the price didnt match the entree. I have been here for lunch and it was the absolute opposite with great service and food.

We sat outside, and the view is wonderfully quaint and romantic. I ordered the striped bass, cooked to perfection with a garlic, cilantro, lime butter sauce. Paired with a warm lentil salad and pan-roasted garlic summer squash. It was delicious and well worth the wait. My husband had "the best scallops hes ever tasted" on a bed of penne pasta with toasted garlic bread. We enjoyed a drink together and the wait staff was amazing. We will definitely be back again! Awful awful awful from bartenders & staff dissing their management (guess they thought the customers at the bar were deaf )- one salad no dressing another the wrong dressing to an upchaege of $3.00 to "prep" a kettle one martini - must be more difficilt To open the bottle??????? Then the rudest least customer sensitive manager ever! Not sure who owns this but if it wrre me there would be a major staff overhaul and training - unless of course you do not care

I have never been so comfortable at a restaurant! I came with my daughter, we sat outside on the porch and I loved that you provided blankets over the chairs because it was a wee bit chilly and it was lovely to be able to get cozy. The food was outstanding! The service was amazing and we wouldnt hesitate to tell everyone we know to come and hang out awhile. Charm factor . . . 10+

The food and drinks are excellent! The staff has been consistently friendly and provides prompt and professional service, whether we were seated on the back deck, upstairs, or downstairs when we have eaten there. Beverages from the bar are excellent too!

A great hidden gem off the main road going to Shenandoah National Park. The creamy chicken and wild rice soup was fabulous. Also had the Rueben and Roasted Turkey Wrap, with coleslaw. Everything was excellent and the atmosphere is nice and relaxing.

Did not get any entrees, however all of the ones we saw looked amazing. Tried several if there appetizers and were very impressed by all of them (try the Crab and Brie Quesadilla). Lots of local touches throughout the menu if youre into that.

Wow! Grilled Caesar salads, creme brûlée, looking for celebrities ; its the place to be. Judging by the BMW motorcycles and European cars, this place pulls in some DC foodies. Been 4x, and always pleased.

The service was so-so. It was a bit slow and the waitress gave me an IPA when I asked for a good non-hoppy beer. I also thought it was expensive for the location / quality.

Extremely slow service when it wasnt busy. Had to find seevee to pay bill and it still took 20 minutes to pay and leave. A bit pricey for what you get too. Not going back.
