First off, Id like to say to Mr. X, shut your mouth, and stop being a troll. You obviously have the palate of a sewer rat, and your opinion is being taken seriously by nobody. Secondly, to those of you who insist on comparing Romas to Olive Garden, you havent a clue as to the meaning of good food. Olive Garden is nothing more than a chain, that whips up frozen crap, and pawns it off as "real Italian". Not even close. That being said, Romas isnt the absolute best Italian restaurant on Earth, but it is very good. I would recommend it to anyone looking for an above average meal, wonderful drinks, and a cozy atmosphere. Does it get a little loud in the dining area? Yes. Have you ever sat down to dinner with an Italian family? I have. Its typically loud and boisterous, because thats just how they do it! Unfortunately, the news about Romas isnt all good. Until tonight, Id say that they were one of my top 10 favorite restaurants of all time. After tonight, they are going to have to step aside. Upon walking in, we were greeted with "How many?" We said 2 and a highchair. "Oh. Well, ummmm... lets see what we have available... oh yes, I see a spot." The restaurant was practically empty, but they wanted to seat us in the rear of the restaurant, because we had our 2 year old daughter with us. Im going to be sure and let them know of my displeasure, and I will not be returning for a while. Not every parent is clueless as to how to eat in public, when toting a child along.

To the idiot who advised people to go to the Olive Garden verses Roma, I say, you are a moron. First off, Ive spent a lot of time in restaurants, and I purposely try to avoid chains like the plague. Chain restaurants are mass produced garbage. Who wants the same type of food whether you stop at a location in Charlotte, DC, Houston, St. Louis, Birmingham, etc. etc.??! Chains are clearly for those who want to feel like theyre simply not getting "fast food." In all reality, chains are only a slight cut above fast food places. Places like Roma, on the other hand, are independently owned, therefore pride of ownership in the food and atmosphere is clearly evident. I love Roma, and anyone I have taken there loves it as well. People are often saying to me "I plan on stopping by Stephens City on my way to such and such...can we go to that one place you took us to?" Theyre talking about Roma :)

Twenty years Ive enjoyed Romas. Not North End of Boston quality but tolerable Italian good enough if someone is willing to add the proper amount of garlic. Never enough garlic but staff like Mary are super helpful in making sure I get more garlic. New staffing and manager of 9 yrs has this place turned upside down. New decor is awful. Manager is rude and cant make eye contact. For someone who eats there regularly Im done. I was charged $2 for extra garlic (first time in 20 years) and treated horribly once again because I wanted more garlic. This is No Italian restaurant!!!! Its an American restaurant trying to be Italian. I cant wait for the Real Italian restaurant to open in Berryville, where the owner has to come out to meet the lady who loves garlic as much as him, a NY Italian man. Sorry Ben. You lost my business!

this comment is for Mr. X who is afraid to leave his name...........You are totally FULL OF IT!!!! Romas is by far the cleanist and the best food around in the Winchester area. Everyone around in this area speaks very highly of this restaurant. Its great! The food is execellent and its appeal, and it s cleanliness. Ive even been in the kitchen, and it is the cleanist kitchen that Ive ever been in.. So you Mr. X dont know apples from oranges. So who ever reads this please know that I have been a residence of this area for 46 years and I have never had a bad meal from Romas. So to the owner and the staff @ Roma Restaurant, KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK!!!!! Robbie (who is not afraid to leave my name)

Romas is a hometown favorite because the food is delightful, the restaurant is warm and inviting, and the staff is friendly. You will know youre in for an enjoyable meal when they start you off with a fresh basket of home made rolls. Youll have a tough time picking something to eat between the Italian and Greek variety. I do suggest at some time you make it a point to try their pizza. The wine and beer selection is also worth the trip. They also have a location on the downtown walking mall in Winchester that I suggest you visit as well for all the same reasons.

I have only eaten at Roma a handful of times, but I have been pleased every time I have been. The food is excellent and from what I have experienced, their staff is always friendly. Not to mention that the restaurant always appears to be very clean. I ate there today with some friends and had the greek pizza minus the sun dried tomatoes and it was fabulous. The crust was perfectly crisp on the bottom, the flavors were well balanced and the ingredients were all very fresh. Everyone else I was with enjoyed their meal as well. I highly recommend this restaurant.

There is no comparison to the quality of a long-standing, successful independent versus a national chain with a "feed at the trough" setting. If you want gut-busting unlimited feeding at fair prices and "fair" quality - go to a national chain. If you want quality food, prepared to order with reasonable portions - pick Roma. There is quality and time put into this food. And the owner lives and dies by the business - unlike even franchised national chains.

This a great little Italian place to eat. The menu seemed to be mainly pizza and pasta but I was also offered a different menu for there subs and sandwiches. I personally dont drink but they seemed to have a decent selection of wines, vodkas, and beers. I thank the only thing that was a little off was the wait, we waiting about 20min for a party of four but it was a Sunday so I cant complain much. Other than that, a good place for some good pizza.

Very Pleasant. I had Calamari which was good. Chicken soup over lemond and Veal Picante was over cooked and over lemond on the sauce. Tiramisu was not made there but was just OK. We were recommended this restaurant and wished we went to Caracaras. Sorry this is just mediocre. Gordon Ramsey come help this place. The advertising is great! Too bad the food did not live up to the advertising. 2.5 from me.. Cost $100 including tip.

No waiting in cafeteria lines; no serving myself; no cooking in plain sight; no need to babysit the servers; no shouting to make myself heard over the din of other diners, music and TV programs... Add roomy, comfortable seating with high quality food in ample portions for a fair price? Such a dining experience is limited to maybe three "Top-Of-Virginia" restaurants. Try the Stephens City Roma; treat yourself: you wont be disappointed.
