A no frills, NYC style joint. Good pizza at a great price (cash only though, which sucks). EDIT: Been going here for a long time, and can no longer get over the shady ATM machines and the constant clashes between owner/management and customer. The broken old-school CRT televisions arent charming, but rather a reflection of this place (fix your TVs!!). Done being a customer at this place. Hope the owner gets with the times or sells it.

What I say, I love this place. This place has by far the best NYC style pizza Ive ever had but if you need to have "fluff and frills" or are looking for some"hipster"joint.. this its definitely not the place. The guy who runs it had the true New Yorker attitude so be quick about it. Ive since moved of state but I come by whenever Im in town... and yes the pizza is what brings me back every time.

As a Chicagoan in VA Im hard pressed to find a decent pizza out here. This place has the best pizza hands down. The place looks like a hole and the people there slightly rough around the edges, but I will deal with that for a quality slice of pizza. Little advice, buy a whole pizza, not just a slice. The slices are not always fresh out of the oven, especially in off hours.

If I could give this place zero stars I would. The first time I ate here I thought it was the best thing ever. But I was drunk. I tried it again sober and it was horrible. The pizza greasy, bland, and just disappointing. The sauce didnt have any flavor either. I tried it once more just to see if it was a bad day, no it was horrible again.

What a trip! This place is authentic NYC! From the typical non-PC NYC attitude and friendliness to the decor. Nothing RVA about it. I mean seriously.. I glanced over toward the door to make sure that I was still on E Main. The pizza is not bad. Its not great but it does beat some similar pizza joints in NYC. Certainly worth a try.

I go about once a week. The pizza is excellent quality, and is in my opinion better warmed up. Healthy sized slices starting at $2.50 means I can get a meal that fills me up for 5 bucks. Try getting that anywhere else. Also, 5 garlic knots for a dollar is an awesome deal. Only problem with this place is that they only take cash.

one of the best slices of pizza you can get in richmond. the guy that used to run this place was really cranky back in the day, if you didnt know what you wanted he would kick you out of the store until you knew. that was back in the 90s he has really mellowed out a lot over the years, nice guy, great pie!

Went because it was highly recommended. Ordered a large pie, was kinda bland and looked like it was just slapped together. Large looked like a medium, Sauce tasted like ketchup. Place was rather run down. It looked like a bodega that just happened to have pizza too. Would not recommend.

Best pizza in the state hands down. Dont listen to the people giving this place bad reviews they dont know what theyre talking about. The service is awesome and the pizza is to die for! Its true New York style pizza and so is the service. Its all part of the experience and its the best!

Do not go here! Horrible customer service. We called and ordered a pizza only to get there and learn that the guy had forgotten to put our order in. He offered no apology, and was extremely rude. Needless to say we took our business elsewhere, and will not be returning.

the pizza is ok, but unfortunately the cook had mine in the oven reheating for too long, came out too crisp and bottom burnt. i might try the place again, and specifically ask them to not burn my slices. also pretty expensive for what it is (my two slices came to $6).

They are by far the BEST pizza place in all of VA and NYC for that matter! I will agree with the other comment that they do have a soup nazi type approach but its so worth it. The crust is unreal, so perfectly thin yet still soft. They have everything on point here.

Great for a casual bite. Conveniently right by the train station on Main Street, very fast service with tasty pizza by the pie or by the slice. Inexpensive, you can get a full belly on a little pocket money. I now know where Im eating when I have a train to catch!

Cash only... But they have 2 ATMs go figure, restaurant is dirty, pizza crust is on the ground and the employees walk around like its not there. They forgot about my slice.. Waited 15kins until I figured out they forgot. Would not eat here again

Horrible Horrible service. My friends and I went last night the men were rude to us.. And kicked paying customers out due to someone else there being rude. They need to work in customer service and politeness... Will not be going back

The man behind the register was a complete ass, and might have been racist as well. He insisted on calling a would be patron lier before they could buy anything, all because she asked did they have Samsung pay and used the bathroom.

Best New York pizza in Richmond!!! Served with NY attitude (good). If you dont know New Yorkers or are easily offended with your southern gentility keep eating the Dominos crap your used to. Look forward to getting a slice now!!!!!

The first place in Virginia that Ive tasted pizza like I was growing up in NY. It does the pizza justice even though it doesnt have fresh mushrooms or sauce, this will be the only place Ill grab a slice and maybe some garlic knots.

AVOID! AVOID! We tried this because my husband wanted "New York style" but they forgot to add TASTE! I am seriously disappointed they even mention New York in their ads, we have nothing this bad back home, not even in Jersey!

Haters went to the wrong place. You call in and within 30 seconds your off the phone. 15 minutes later youve arrived and the pizza is finished. Your pizza is thin, doughy, and cheesy. Been my favorite for 4 years now.

This is the best pizza you will find in Richmond. Its like they just moved a pizza place straight from NYC to Shockoe Bottom. You can only pay cash, but theres an ATM inside. This place is fantastic, Im addicted

This is a Richmond icon. The Pizza Place is the best place to be at all hours of the day. I walked in at 3 am and I was greeted by the most delicious slice of pepperoni Ive ever had.

Closest thing to a REAL NYC slice you will find and it even has the New York attitude. Just like in NYC, order , pay (cash only) , eat and leave.

The pizza is good, but they randomly close on days that they are supposed to be open. Today they were closed and its 2:30 pm on a Monday.
