I ordered delivery from this place quite a few times. Here is my take on it. The Good: The Best Fried Rice in Town- I ordered Chicken Fried Rice (my favorite). It was delicious. They add eggs and bean sprouts in their rice. The chicken was actual 100% authentic white meat chicken. No mystery meat there. Going the Extra Mile- If you order delivery, the delivery person will add plates, condiments and utensils in the bag. Cons: The Constantly Changing Delivery Minimum- At one point in time, the delivery minimum was $20. I believe now it is $10. On top of there being a delivery minimum, they charge a $2.00 delivery fee and expect a tip on top of it. Questionable Customer Service- If you happen to talk to the woman over the phone and ask to place separate orders, she will claim that they are unable to do that. If you are able to talk to one of the men who answer the phone, they will gladly do it even though their English is very limited. Taste of Other Dishes- While I loved the Chicken Fried Rice, I was not so impressed with the Chicken Wings, Won Ton Soup, Spare Ribs, Chicken and Broccili or Sweet and Sour Chicken. From my last Peking experience, the Chicken Wings were undercooked and Won Ton Soup had a funny after taste. The Prices- The prices on the menu are expensive. You are essentially paying PF Chang prices for food that is a slight upgrade from your regular run of the mill Chinese takeout place. Overall- If you like Chicken Fried Rice and can get one of the male employees to answer the phone, this is the best place in town. If you are looking to order other items, you may want to save your money and time with this place. TWO STARS. My passion is Chicken Fried Rice so I would order out again, but it would be once in a blue moon.

I was very displeased with my experience here. I ordered the chicken wings, which states you get 6 of them, and a shanghai roll. It was a combined order with a co-worker, upon ordering we were advised the delivery minimum was $20. So I added another shanghai roll to my order. Paid about $10 total. When I received my order, there were 6 party wings (separated wings). In all my life, I have never gone to ANY chinese restaurant where they did not sell whole chicken wings. I called them and explained my disdain. The online menu plainly says chicken wings, not wing portions, not party wings. The manager was not willing to give me more wings, but yet was willing to pick up the food and refund me. Really?! So you would throw the food away and refund me, which is wasting money, rather than appease the customer and provide additional wings to compensate, especially considering the printing on the menu? On top of being over priced, essentially I will never order from there again. How you treat your customers is very important in my opinion.

Do you like MSG? You know the flavoring chemical that the CDC says causes the following symptoms? * Burning sensation on the torso, thighs, shoulders, neck and arms * Chest pain or palpitations * Sub-sternal discomfort * Numbness near the mouth * Sensation of facial pressure * Sensation of facial swelling * Nausea and vomiting * Flushing and sweating * Headache * Wheezing Well the food this place serves is LOADED with it! How exciting to wake up in the middle of the night after eating this mediocre-poor "Chinese" food and feel like youre having a heart attack at age 26! Awesome! And 12 hours later, my chest is still beating hard! All because these people have no idea how to cook a F-ing Chinese dish! If you like feeling like you were poisoned at dinner the night before, go to Peking restaurant!

Peking does a great job catering to the business lunch crowd and moves the masses in and out fairly efficiently. That said, in order to do this it does seem that the "fast food" focus has taken precedence over the years... the greeting staff at the front desk seems to have been at this too long (especially the older lady) and seems less receptive and more pushy/grumpy each year. The food is consistently acceptable, while spiced middle of the road and thoroughly cooked (sometimes over cooked in my humble opinion). General Tsos Chicken, my favorite dish, just does not have the firepower or depth that I expect. The Hot & Sour soup is excellent still though. Lunchtime specials are a value and you can get in & out within an allotted lunch hour if you need to, like we do. A good value, just seemingly not quite as special as it once was.

Ive been going to the Richmond Peking restaurants for years. They used to be the go-to place for quality Chinese food, a step above the strip mall fare I see all over the place. Unfortunately, that has changed. I recently went to the Mechanicsville and downtown Richmond locations and was VERY disappointed. At Mechanicsville, I got the General Tsos chicken and downtown Richmond, the sesame beef. Both dishes tasted like they had been sitting in the buffet all day and they just slopped it into a to-go container. The sauce was watery, the quality of chicken and beef was poor. Grey meat and overly battered. Im giving up on Chinese in Richmond for a little while, at least until I can find a decent place.

Best Chinese in Richmond. No Questions. Very classey, white tablecloth, great selection of different foods, great service and not too pricey. I have never herd a complaint about this place from all the people I have taken over the years. I have used it for every occasion you can think of. All locations are just as good as the other. I like the one downtown just becasue it gives me an excuse to go down there but the one near grove and libbie and the west end are just as great.

This used to be the best chinese restaurant in Richmond. The owners held it to a very high standard and it was clean and wait staff polite. Went there for lunch 06/02/2016 and the wait staff was rude and the restaurant had not been taken care of and was very dirty and the floor was sticky. The food was okay but overall disappointed to see how a richmond icon has fallen. Will not be eating there again, not when Peter Changs is open.

Really good chinese food and convenient if you live downtown. The menu is huge and different from the other run of the mill chinese places in town. The hot and sour soup is the best in town, and Ive had them all. It has an assortment of bamboo, meat, mushrooms, and isnt just broth and corn syrup with tofu that you get elsewhere. The staff is really friendly and theyve been around before most of the other businesses in the slip.

I actually did a delivery on this one but the food got here quickly and it was excellent. A lot of chinese food is greasy and contains some of the worst cuts of meat and vegetables imaginable, covered by sugary, oily sauces. This food was fresh, crisp, the meats were excellent. I was very happy with the food. It was slightly higher priced but Ill take that for real food any day.
