We were the first 2 people in the restaurant when it opened at 11am. We were seated immediately & given chips & salsa...the whole time were being stared at by the staff. We ordered & when my food arrived, I didnt like the taste of the sauce on the enchiladas so I asked if I could order a different dish in its place. The waiter didnt say much, kinda looked pissed off about the whole situation then he asked me what I wanted to replace what I had. I told him the lunch chicken fajitas without the guacamole salad. A few minutes later, he brings that out & I tell him Im so sorry about the mishap...he didnt say one word to make me feel welcomed or wanted there, like he had an attitude because I didnt like what I had the first time. Then when he brings me the beans & rice on the plate, guess whats on there with it!? SALAD!...when I specifically asked for none. So I wave him down again & told him that I didnt want any salad, just the beans & rice, he takes the plate to the back & doesnt return with anything else. So I didnt eat any of what I ordered & didnt plan on paying for none of the food either since my order was wrong not once, but twice & the whole time we were there we were stared at. Such an uncomfortable environment & definitely my last time there. Luckily my coworker was nice enough to take the check before me & go to the counter & pay because they werent t gonna get it from me...especially when I didnt eat any of the messed up order!

No beuno!! Recently moved down the road from the place, so for my husbands birthday we thought we would try it. Plate/dish descriptions are very minimal on the menu, and do not include any sort of description of ingredients, and the waitress didnt understand the simple questions my husband had about the ingredients. He ordered the beef nachos and I ordered the chicken chimichangas. My chimichanga was bland and used typical store bought canned shredded chicken with green chile added (which had no taste). The nachos were far worse. There was no actual ground beef in the beef nachos, but rather more canned meat. I tried a bite, and I would suggest that the dish be renamed Alpo nachos... I presume dog food would taste better. We lived in New Mexico for 6 years, and nothing about the place is authentic, and is the worst Mexican place weve been to in Richmond. The food was tasteless and uninspired. We wont be back.

I went in to pick up my order the young man at the front told me my total. I said ok well let me make sure my food is right then as I was going through my order . I said this is what extra meat looks like now note I paid extra for extra meat so the young man turns around and says if your going to complain then you shouldnt have order from here. First Im not from here so I was trying your restaurant out, second I am spending $30 on my food , and last why did you find it the necessary to have an attitude and speak to a customer that way not only that I seen roaches inside the restaurant and it was just overall a very bad experience. I will never eat there again and I will be contacting the health department so for anyone trying this restaurant not only are they very disrespectful to their customers but they also do have a insect problem

Let me start by saying that I love Mexican food. Let me also add that I find most Mexican restaurants (on the east coast) to be pretty indistinguishable. Original Mexico had pretty much the same menu youll find at any other Mexican restaurant. But you know those times you go to a Mexican restaurant and it just isnt that good... Like the salsa is lacking in flavor or the rice is undercooked or it just wasnt all that good?... Youll never have that experience here. The salsa is excellent and everything Ive had had been enjoyable. Margaritas are cheap and service is wonderful... And did I mention the salsa?

The place stunk when we walked in. The glasses had a foul smell, so the drinks tasted so bad and we left our beers half drunk. The waiter was very fast and hovering constantly. I am not usually happy to be finished our evening out after only 15 minutes, but with all the screaming babies and foul smells, it was very nice to leave this s***hole.

As far as the menu goes, its not so different from most Mexican restaurants, but they do it all well. I havent had anything here I havent liked (my favorite being the California Burrito). The best salsa Ive had at a Mexican place and the chips are never stale. Great (powerful) margaritas too. The service is always fast and friendly.

Good food with friendly service! I had the Quesadilla Texana, and it was both tasty and HUGE, which I like. We were seated immediately and got chips and salsa seconds after we sat down. The menu and look of the place was just classy enough to not break a budget, and I would easily find this place again to have some good Mexican food!

This is literally the best Mexican food I have ever had. Who knew youd find it in Richmond Virginia? I recommend the pollo asado. The guac is out of this world. I dont know how Ill ever eat anything else and be satisfied. May have ruined my life in that sense? Oh well it was worth it.

My usual Mexican restaurant was jammed, so decided to try a new one. Original Mexican Restaurant delivered! What I would expect from a traditional Mexican (American) restaurant. Extensive menu, good prices, attentive service. Will definitely be back.

Dont be fooled by the nondescript name, this Mexican Restaurant is a real diamond in the rough. The service was muy rapido and the food hot and delicious. If youre looking for a fast, hot, authentic meal, then Mexico Restaurant is the place to be.
