This is where the Mexican people go to get their Mexican food. Not only a restaurant, but also doubles as a Mexican grocery store. A no frills restaurant, you order your food, pick your own drink from the fridge, pick up your food when its ready, and clear your own table when youre done. The food was good, but more expensive than other places I have been. I found it interesting that the tacos had peas in them and the burritos had onions and carrots in the meat. Not sure if thats how they do it in Mexico, but the taste was good nonetheless. Not good enough, however, to dethrone my current favorite Mexican spot, Don Papa Grande. Don Papa has food that tastes just as good, is cheaper and they have better customer service. They also provide free chips and salsa while you wait for your meal.

I will no longer dine in this restaurant. I frequented this place for many years, several times a month with friends family, Customers and co-workers. I have also recommended and introduced many people to it, but I will no longer recommend it. Businesses will learn the hard way about protesting, forcing their opinion and beleifs down peoples throat is not good business. In response I will now protest this dining establishment and bring my Business elsewhere to an establishment that understands people go out to eat to dine and relax. Keep your political views and beleifs at home on your own time, not out in public where it offends your Customers. Goodbye La Milpa, many more Customers will follow your poor decision.

Repeated my order to the cashier 3 times. Never got it right. The last time I went and asked for my receipt an older woman called me "altanera". She was very rude, disrespectful, and she answers the phone before giving me a receipt. When she finished her phone conversation she decided to ask what was my order. Thats when I decided to walk out and tell her to forget she was awfully disrespectful. Never will I recommend this place to anyone.

En la milpa todos comemos comida mexicana y el estar ahí es como regresar a México en unos pequeños minutos y disfrutar lo que antes hacíamos !!! Les recomiendo visitar la milpa agan lo por favor !!!!

La comida si es buena,lo más parecido a la auténtica comida mexicana acá en Virginia,pero cuando ordenas o pides para llevar no echan todo completo me a sucedido en 2 ocasiones.

If you are looking for REAL mexican, or Hispanic/Latino flavor, this the place you want to go to. The place is quite small since they use half of it as a "hispanic mini market". Dont let the place fool you because the food is great. From all the places in the Richmond area this is the ONLY ONE that truly gets close to real Hispanic flavor.

LaMilpas food is the most authentic Mexican food Ive had in Richmond! I love their food so much that I had them cater my wedding last month. The staff was very professional and responsive to my needs and the guests loved the fajita bar! I would recommend this place to anyone, plus theyre open 27/7!!!

We loved this place! Food was freshly prepared. With plenty menu selection you really cant go wrong with your order. I recommend tacos de pastor (pork marinated tacos), pupusas (fresh corn tortilla stuffed with meat & cheese with cabbage & salsa on top) and their sweet drink Agua de Tamarindo. ;)

Two reasons I go there: their "torta especial" and its open 24/7. If I am feeling like tacos, pupusas or soups (during business hours) Ill go somewhere else. They keep forgetting my order, well it had happened the last three times, maybe, my bad luck or a bad costumer service, who knows?

Solid tacos and tortas of all kinds. Dont miss the large selection of homemade hot sauces along the back wall. The little store isnt as great as youd hope, but they do have an excellent selection of dried chiles.

Excellent food and friendly service. I get the shrimp, rice and plantain dish, absolutely delicious. You just need to add whatever appropriate level of spice you need for your personal palate.
