Absolutely terrible service on Wednesday nights, which yes, I know theyre busy, but they treat you like they hate you for wanting to eat there. The food is okay, however I can find just as good food at any other Mexican restaurants around here. Last time I went, my waiter was usually no where to be found. Had to wait 20-30 minutes in between visits, usually during those visits we had to remind him of things we ordered which were never brought out. They charged us for a soda with the dollar tacos, which we never even got the soda. I told our waiter I felt he needed to remove the soda from the bill but keep the tacos a dollar each. He said he couldnt do that. I understand the policy is we need to get a soda in order for the tacos to be a dollar each, however when you dont even bring us the soda in the first place then we shouldnt be charged for it. He said then he would charge us full price for the tacos. We argued for about 10 minutes, when finally he said it was our fault for not reminding him to get us the drink. First of all, we could barely find him to even remind him...second of all, its your job to bring us a drink if we order it. Its not our fault if you cant do your job. After realizing we werent getting anywhere with him, we asked for a drink to go and havent been back sense. I really never make a fuss over stuff at restaurants, but after having so many bad experiences there, I figure its not worth going there anymore. I gave it 2 stars instead of 1 just because the food is okay and the Wednesday dollar tacos is a great deal. Its a shame they dont let you do carryout anymore with the tacos, because having to sit in their dining is just a painful experience.

Not a friendly place and the food didnt exite. The prepackaged frozen deserts can be acquired much less expensively at your local Costco or Sams Club. And the Enchiladas Supreme were pretty small portions left me feeling pretty blasé. Then when they refused to accept my Groupon a few hours before the fine-print said it was available they lost me. Ok. I get it. Rules are rules. But really? Why the attitude? The food was mediocre at best so there needs to be a good reason to go there when there are dozens of other places to get better Mexican food nearby. I had been here a few times before but no more. Bye Bye El Cerro Azul. Thats one Groupon that wont get redeemed because I wont be back. Bad business and so-so food explains why you had almost no customers on Cinco De Mayo and why you have to offer a 50% discount in the first place.

2 Words - Dollar Tacos. On Wednesdays, with the purchase of a drink you can get tacos for a dollar each. Combine that with a salsa bar (you read that right, 5 different types of salsa on a bar) and you have an amazing Mexican restaurant experience. To me, Mexican restaurants can by alarmingly similar. They offer similar menu items and atmosphere. El Cerro Azul has the standard fare but they prepare their meats differently. I like the chicken and the pork better at El Cerro than at most Mexican restaurants. As I mentioned earlier, the Salsa bar sets this restaurant ahead of the others. And when you leave (stuffed from all of the goodness) you can pass the YouFit gym and remember that tomorrow you should get up and work all of it off. Amazing Mexican Food!

Our first time here and I was pretty impressed. At first the tables seem a bit tight together, especially when youd like to use a high chair, but we made do. Beyond that it was great. Awesome portion sizes for our food and money and a good variety of salsas. They were hit or miss tonight but tasted fresh and the variety alone was worth it. We looked at the dessert menu and they looked great (especially after seeing a fried ice cream come out for a birthday celebration) but we were able to refrain today. We will likely be back!

My husband, daughter, son in law ,15 month old grand daughter and I enjoyed our evening at ECA. The chips and dips were good along with some guacamole:) Must admit the margaritas were tasty as well. Everyone was very happy with their main course and most had some to take home. The staff there was friendly. Our grand even found some things she liked:) We will definitely be back. Good food for good price.

The food was amazing. I highly recommend the Tropical Fajitas. We went for the first time because we had a Groupon so we didnt know that kids eat for $1 on Tuesdays. I didnt expect them to allow us both discounts but they did without any problems. The manager and waiter were also very understanding and helpful with our special requests due to my sons food allergies. I cant wait to go again!

I appreciated the flexible & polite management. The cool salsa bar is fun. Its like being in Tel Aviv & you are served a bounty of lovely fresh olives with your beer. What joy. The prices were easy to pick & choose on a lean paycheck. Go when they have drink specials.

I love the food here and the atmosphere is great!! Everyone is very friendly and most of the staff speak adequate English! This is my top choice when it comes to Mexican food. I been to a lot of other places but this one is the best!

Without question, best Mexican restaurant in Midlothian. Dollar taco night, quick and friendly service, great food, salsa bar and proper drinks. Never leave unsatisfied, but be prepared for it to be crowded.

Go ahead, travel the country. Try places known for their mexican cuisine. Then come here, its better. These guys care about what they are doing and it shows. Try the Mar y Tierra or El Rancheros Fajitas.
