My wife and I live very close to this place. We found it by accident about 4 years ago. We were so happy we had what we compared to Monte Alban so close to us. The wait staff was awesome. Then about two years ago, service started to slip. The food was still good though, so we continued to be regulars. Then last year we had our first child, which many of you know means you eat out far less, so we often ordered take out. My wife loved their cheese sauce. After 6 times of ordering take-out, with them making a mistake each time and making us wait for over 45 minutes each time after we gave them half an hour after we called and placed the order (1 hr 15 minutes or so to get each order). We opted to just cook from home when we want Mexican. Fast forward to Mothers Day 2016. My wife, who is pregnant was craving cheese sauce and Santa Fe Chicken salad for her special dinner. So on our way home from Fairport, we ordered. She was also craving her salad to be in a tostada bowl. When I asked if they could upcharge me for that, I was told no and that they do not deviate from the menu. Funny, because they always have in the past for an additional $5.00, which we were always willing to pay. But ok, no worries. They told us about 25 mins. So we drove home, I dropped off the wife and son and I made my way to Wegmans to buy Tostada bowls to put her salad in. So between the drive from Fairport to Greece and a trip to Wegmans on Mt. Read (about 45 minutes), you would expect our order to be ready. I entered the restaurant and they charged me, I left a $5.00 tip. Then the waiter who took my money went in the back without a word. 10 minutes later he returned and said the order would be ready in 5. Ok? I smile and say ok (Im a bit of a push-over, because I want to be nice...and no spit in my food). 20 more minutes go by and I ask two different servers about my order. They do not even respond, they just go to the back and come out and say 5 minutes. After an hour and 20 minutes (plus the 45 minutes from the time I placed the order) I ask for my money back, nicely. The guy goes in the back, then returns with an order in a bag. He says they cannot offer me a refund because the food was cooked. I take the food and go home. When I get home, I open the order to find my food correct but my wifes is an enchilada, not a salad. We also do not have cheese sauce. I call the restaurant and I am told that I cannot have a refund because I left the store with the food. When I said I would be returning they told me to come in if I felt tough enough. Are you kidding? I quickly repackaged the uneaten food and went back. They were stunned I came back. I got the refund and I know now I (the nice guy who is a push-over) that I will do what I can to make sure I never eat there again and I will always tell others not to eat there as well. So sad, because as I left, a customer waiting to be seated saw the exchange and asked me why I was upset as I left. I said I waited for over an hour and they gave me the wrong order. Then a waitress walked up and pushed the customer forward saying I was not a regular and that I had been rude!? I am disappointed, because this used to be such a good restaurant. The place is run by thugs...AVOID THIS PLACE!!

I wanted to say that I used to like this place more than I do now!! Only because now and this is the second time this has happened to me, whenever I go to order a Nacho Supreme, I always ask if it comes with Cheese Sauce cause Im not a big fan of it at all!! I only prefer the regular shredded cheese instead!! Both times I asked them NOT to use it on my Nachos, instead I only want the Regular shredded cheese!! Well dont they use not only the shredded cheese but they put this freaken white sauce all over my order and the first time was like May of 2013 I told them about it and asked if I can get a replacement for it, and I guess they barley understood my request and they refused to replace it even with it being their mistake!! So, I havent gone their til tonight, and I got the same thing and something else which turned out okay, but this time this waiter I got said no it doesnt come with it so I sort of took his word for it, and same issue again the white sauce I dont really like!! I ended up not finishing it both times and they still have us pay the whole amount which is pushing me away as a customer!! Other than that the rest of the food seems pretty good as I love Mexican spicy foods!! And this waiter tonight was sort of interverted and didnt say too much to me not even a have a good night either, unlike most places!! So, I may not be returning now or for at least a long time if I ever do!! Now Ill just go somewhere else like Moes since their now open and they seem a bit more customer friendly too!!

Id give 0 stars if I could. I never write reviews about restaurants but after going to Los Gallos for about 5 years now I can sadly say I will not be returning to this restaurant. Im from another state and visit every couple months making los Gallos my "go-to" place when I am in New York its tradition for my family. Anyways, after being seated we were introduced to a older woman (didnt ask for her name and I regret it) who brought our chips and salsa to the table. I asked her for an extra bowl as I did not want to reach over in front of other peoples faces with a chip covered in salsa. She rudely says "Im not your waiter" and quickly walks away to stand by the counter to socialize with her co-workers. Shortly after I meet our waiter which was wonderful, I believe his name was Ricardo. I ordered a Nacho Pollo and had received it in no time the service was very quick as usual. Only to notice portions of their food has drastically changed. (Nachos Pollo and fried ice cream is what i had ordered both being significantly less quantities and yet the same price.) After getting though most of my plate I find myself pulling a chip out of my mouth wrapped in hair and simply couldnt finish my plate. Overall I had an awful experience after not being there for about 6 months since Ive moved out of state I can safely say I will be finding a new Mexican restaurant to visit when I am in New York.

First and foremost, My wife and I love this place. Its the best food of its kind in our area and we crave it regularly. However, not always can we go out to eat so we made it a regular occurrence to call into the restaurant for take-out with no problem. Until now. The food remains incredible, but lately I cant say the same about the service. Unless you dine in, youre treated like a secondary citizen if you walk in and order take-out. And for months, when you try to call in for a pick-up order their phone doesnt even ring and you get a message that says the number isnt taking any phone calls. Now, Im not a business owner, however good/great customer service trumps quality food many times over. This is a situation where I crave the food, but "now limited" service they provide without any warning keeps my wife and I away. What a shame and a waste of a good thing. All it takes is good customer service and this place would have a line out the door a mile long daily.
