I was so excited to hear that Shake Shack was opening in Tysons Corner. This area is just boomin with new developments and this outdoor plaza feature of the Tysons Corner Mall is awesome. Props to Shake Shack for jumping on this location. My single shack burger with everything (except they forgot onions) was good, maybe even better than a few other Shake Shack burgers Ive had in their DC locations. I attribute that to them being a little less busy at the time than their DC counterparts, but well see how they hold up to increasing demand and popularity. I sat outside in their patio section, which is completely covered with umbrellas so no one needs to be fighting over shade during the hot months. Napkins are readily available on each table. When I came, the patio was fairly empty and completely clean - no food or wrappers or trash on the floor. Yes, some tables are squeezed snugly but that can be easily fixed by moving them apart. To be fair, I actually saw more families place tables together than break them apart. I also didnt see a lot of trouble with folks walking through the patio area, although I can imagine it being a bigger challenge when its more crowded. Nothing, however, that warrants less in the rating. The service was top notch. One server came around and asked if we wanted waters, which he promptly fetched for us. I never experienced that in any other Shake Shack locations. The only very minor downside to this location (if it even counts as one) is that this new outdoor plaza has two ping pong tables located right next to the outdoor patio of Shake Shack, so players often lose the ping pong balls in the patio and will either go around looking for it while youre eating or youll have to lend a hand and throw it back to them. I can see this being varying degrees of annoyance for folks. The new outdoor plaza is really cool. Aside from the ping pong tables, theres cornhole, a giant chess set, and plenty of benches and other seating. A new Hyatt Regency is being built, as well as a new apartment building called Vita - both which rise above and overlook the plaza. In addition to free Tysons Corner Mall wifi, Shake Shack also offers free wifi!

I hate to give bad ratings but I dont get all the hype behind Shake Shack and its supposed following. I guess people have never been to the Cherry Cricket in Denver, CO. The burger was decent but certainly not worth $9+ after tax (double Shack burger). The value is not good considering you are paying sit down restaurant prices for a fast casual experience and have no guarantee of even getting a table when theyre busy, especially in winter when you are not sitting outside. Fries were mediocre at best and not even fresh. To give a comparison you can have the best burger in Denver at the Cherry Cricket which is a full service restaurant and bar including fries for $8-12 depending on what burger you chose and its leaps and bounds bigger and better than Shake Shacks minuscule excuse for a burger. The people at this location were miserable and the cashier couldnt even answer my question I had about the menu (Mon. night 2/13/17). Go here if you want but realize that your paying $15-20 for a double, fries and soda or beer and getting quality that tastes at par with In-n-Out for double to triple the price!

The burgers and really good. I gobbled mine down and wanted more. Customer service could use some help. Everyone (that I encountered) there acts annoyed with you except for one gentleman. His name is Michael, and he will be 61 soon (saying that in case he reads this. I want him to know Im talking about him). He was amazing. I was erroneously charged for an extra hamburger. My mom was going to order chicken, and I showed her the extra hamburger on my receipt so she said she would just eat that. Michael overheard this and instead of taking the easy route and letting her just eat mine, he insisted that she get the chicken because its awesome. Then he immediately took my receipt and fixed it with no complaint or problem. Not only that, but he took the time with us to explain how their lemonade is made, as well as talk to us about their hamburger. Hes the reason I gave this spot a 4. Yall need to hire more like Michael!

This establishment has great seating during good weather because many of the seats are outside but the inside seating is quite small. My friend and I both had strollers with us it was very windy and cold. We had just been asked to leave our strollers outside of a different establishment and did not feel comfortable doing that - just leaving them inside the mall outside of the restaurant so we went to Shake shack instead and thought for sure they wouldnt let us bring our strollers and since it was such a small space. Every person working was extremely kind helpful and accommodating. We put our names in for our orders but they remembered our names and called us by our names while helping us rearrange chairs and tables to accommodate us and our strollers. I would definitely recommend this Shake shack to anyone not only because of the food but because of the wonderful staff.

04/04/2017: These guys are such jerks. I walked 45 minutes to get here and to be told that they are closed for a private party since 6pm. The website says nothing about it. Told the server abt that and she didnt even care and asked me to come back tomorrow. Went back 4/6/2017 and they gave me the wrong burger, When I complained, the server had no regrets, took the partially eaten burger from my plate without even asking, and threw it away. I waited another 10 minutes to get the right one but by then, the rest of my food was cold. The manager also came to check on me while I was waiting but didnt even wait for my answer, said nothing, and left. I ended up throwing most of my food and promised myself to never come back to this location. This location has 0.000 customer service skills and bringing the brand name down.

I brought my 4 year old here. Her critique was, "its good, I like it. I like 5 guys better." To me, that is the obvious comparison. I would say that the burger is marginally better here, with higher end ingredients and somewhat refined sauces. Moreover, they also serve chicken, and a good vegetarian mushroom burger. The shakes are also richer, and there are definitely more dessert options. So, all things being equal, shake shack wins. However, this location is crazy busy whenever I am here, and there is not enough indoor, air conditioned, seating. Moreover, five guys fries beat every contender by far. So, I would go to 5 guys more often, and here any time I knew it was not so busy.

I love burgers and everyone in the area always hypes up Shake Shack, so I decided to finally try it. I do not recommend this place, the burgers and fries are definitely sub par. I had a Shake Shack burger, I could barely taste anything, Five Guys is better than this place. The burger was dry and bland, the cheese and shack sauce had no flavor, the bun is a cold potato roll. I ordered cheese & bacon fries and they barely put either of the two on there, the fries were crunchy luckily and there were around 20 fries, and they charge you $5, it was not worth it at all. If you in Tysons and you want a quality delicious burger I would recommend for you to go to Gordon Biersch.
