I was headed to Thai Box because it was close to Fort Belvoir on Memorial Day, but when we arrived to Thai Box, it was closed unfortunately. Hunan Deli was opened next door though, so out of desperation and hunger, we decided to eat here. I was strongly opposing it at first because before I eat anywhere, I always read reviews of restaurants beforehand, so I can get a general idea of what to expect. Once we entered inside, it looked exactly what you might expect from any Chinese take out delivery restaurant; poor decor and run down honestly. Also, there was a possible newborn crying in the back. The atmosphere was plain awkward. I felt regret already once stepping inside. But, things started to turn around when the food was ordered and arrived. I cant speak if the food is real Korean because I never ate real Korean food, but the food was delicious in my opinion. The prices are very cheap and you get way more than what you pay for. Overall, would I eat here again? Maybe out of sheer desperation and conveniences, yes, but with so many other restaurants around, I likely doubt I will be returning.

1. The customer service was absolutely horrible. When my family and I asked about the menu, they told us that if we didnt know the food, then why were we here? They then continued to laugh and talk to each other in Korean. Rude, unprofessional, and judgmental. 2. We ordered bulgogi, galbi, and jjambong. The bulgogi and galbi were the WORST I have EVER had in my entire life. They were chewy, overcooked, and bland. The jjambbong was also not spicy, and the seafood in it was overcooked. Overall, my family was unable to finish any of this poorly prepared food, and I completely regret stepping foot into this establishment. I will NEVER be coming here again, and I have warned all my friends to stay away from this horrible place.

Stopped in but didnt eat; wanted to provide some context. This is apparently a jjajang myun place of the old style. My take on the prices didnt suggest that it was inexpensive. Seafood pancake (haemul pajun) is $14.00; and so on. So normal Korean food prices. Extensive menu. Location is an industrial strip between a hispanic corner restaurant (sopa, sandwiches, fried fish, etc) and ThaiBox. I dont think Hunan Deli is to be actively avoided, but without menus available outside or on the web, some information is needed before planning a trip.

Weve had Korean food from here many times now. Nothing short from AMAZING! Delicious Korean food, Ive yet to try thier Chinese offerings, Im sure theyre just as good. Dont expect the place to be fancy or big. Small mom and pop restaurant, with succulent dishes.

Quant place with a nice menu. Ive had dinner here once which was really good, so I came back today for lunch. Lunch portion was large and a great value. I asked them to make my jjaeyuk bokum extra spicy which they were happy to accommodate.

Its a hole in the wall eatery but their jjampong and jajangmyun is darn good. Korean restaurants in general dont focus on service but run more like a factory so dont get turned off if they dont want to accommodate every special request.

I have liked everything I ever ate here. It is a cafe, not a restaurant, so if you want a dining experience, go elsewhere. If you want great food at a reasonable price, Hunan Deli is the place for Korean-Chinese food.

Ordered the bibimbap to go (#41, $10.59 total) It was delicious; 2nd time here. Ordered hot stone bibimbap on 1st visit, let it cool down, then enjoy! My kids loved it. Small indoor seating, but the food is worth it!

The best bulgolgi & japchae Ive had in years. And their Naengmyeon is a perfect dish on a hot summer day. So close to Fort Belvoir. Never had a bad experience!
