Best Indian food I had so far in Virginia. I tried 3 other Indian restaurants in Charlottesville area, they are all bland and tasted nothing like Indian food. We travelled all the way to Richmond area and tried Hyderabad Biryani House. The food is full of flavour and the buffet has many options to choose from. I personally love their Biryani, Naan, Goat Curry and Fruit Custard. The only thing lacking in their buffet for a full meal is Papad/Appadam but now, I am just being too picky. The waitress is very nice and helpful. I read the other reviews and I think people shouldnt be too critical of the owner, he doesnt seem to be fluent in English and sounds rude because of his lack of good communication skills. The only thing I do not like about the restaurant is they were using disposable plasticware, which is the only big flaw I did not like. I really wish they wont use plasticware for everyday buffet and I wish we lived closer to the restaurant so that we can eat there more often.

After my son discovered a roach crawling on the table near his food, the waiter came over and apologized so nervously. Then killing the roach with a napkin as if hes used to this. The food was OK for a buffet but that doesnt make up for there being roaches. We then got charged $26, prematurely leaving the restaurant because roaches are a n immediate turn off. Upon leaving, my boyfriend needed to use the bathroom (against my better judgement) and comes back to ask me how I missed the cans of raid walking back when I went to the bathroom when we first arrived. It smelled like pee and it was definitely a hole in the wall type bathroom, but I chucked it up as such. Im hungry and disgusted. They were the German roaches that multiply and carry disease. The health department should be on this!!!

We go to the Hyderabad Biryani House occasionally and specially on Eid. Thats our family tradition to have Eid feast over there. Let me tell, our family loves the food here. Great food, from delicious and authentic hyderbadi goat biryani to pays/nihari, double ka mitha, gulab jaman, to real authentic hyderabadi Haleem....yum yum. We felt that we were actually in Hyderabad Deccan in India. OMG....the Chicken 65 was heavenly. Dont let the poor decor stop you from tasting and experiencing the authentic hyderabadi cuisine. The staff is dedicated and use pure and high quality ingredients. I cant wait to go back there again and again

Amazing Indian Hyderabadi taste!!! It is unbelievable to get an Indian taste in USA. We went with two families and enjoyed the taste to the CORE as they didnt compromise Hyderabadi taste at all. We took our dinner (Biriyani, Haleem and Chicken 65) which still feels great and good. We are eager to visit again as I am far away (Philadelphia) but hoping they will open in PA/NJ soon. On a side note, it took 15-20 minutes to find this page to write my review and I am happy about it. I usually never give feedback but this shop, taste & owner deserves it. If you have guts to taste Spicy, please visit and enjoy it.

Authentic authentic authentic Hyderabadi dishes. One of their specialties stands out - Chicken 65. Their bhuna gosht curry is absolutely amazing. Hyderabadi biryani one of the best in USA, but does not compare to the original in Hyderabad. Update: I asked for a dish (Goat Paya) which was not being made in the summer season. The staff ensured they would find all the ingredients by touring around Richmond and made by dish (four of them) and readied them for me. They have gone out of the way in giving their customers this sort of an experience which is unseen nowadays.

I dont really know where to go with this review. The chicken jalfrezi was pretty terrible, not the worst I have had (hello Farouks and the place in Chicago that used cauliflower instead of chilies), but it was pretty terrible as for some reason it was made with cream and was more korma than jalfrezi. But I had the Chicken 65 as an appetizer and it was delicious. Really, really good. I mean fantastically good. Next time I go I think that will be my entree, although I would rather there was a little more sauce to scrape up with my naan bread.

Everything was amazing. The food was delicious. Price was affordable. Atmosphere was communal and welcoming. This is a "must try" hole-in-the-wall Richmond restaurant! We got the buffet. Everything on the buffet was delectable: my mouth is watering now as I type this. Tandoori Chicken, 3 or 4 types of curry, chicken and vegetable biryani, and tons more. When we were there, the dishwasher had apparently broken down and we got to eat with disposable plates and plastic ware. It made the experience like a picnic. Loved everything.

Im constantly on the search for a good source for decent Indian style food. This restaurant is a decent choice ...not great, but good. The property is in a run down strip mall and is dark and dingy, but the staff seem to be enthusiastic about offering authentic food. There seems to be a strong presence of native Indian and Pakistani clientèle, so that seems to be a vote for the authenticity. I wouldnt take anyone I was trying to impress or who is not adventurous to this restaurant, but I might go back myself.

I have tried more than 50 Indian restaurants in 14 different states of USA. Believe me, THIS ONE IS THE BEST I EVER TRIED. We were group of 5 people and we tried 7 different dishes. Everything was awesome. Another amazing thing is Cricket Trophies of Owner/Manager. Another reason why Cricket Crazy Indians should go there. Simply loved the restaurant. I will stop again, next time I drive that way.

4 parties and takeout overwhelmed staff. No Chicken Tikka Masala unless prepared to wait 45 min. We settled for appetizer, curry and biryani. The latter was quite good but arrived 15 minutes after guest entree. Some takeout guests arguing and complaining loudly about delays. Muscular cook called from kitchen to tranquilize! 90 minutes later, we paid and escaped.

Crap food and ambience.. the kitchen was so dirty and stinky..food was not fresh, lot of left over food from refrigerator is used to cook... This place has no taste close to hyderab.. at best I can say this as tomato rice with few rotten chicken inside.. not to mention the arrogant attitude of the owner and service ??? good luck if u non muslim.

I and my friend came to virgina for a visit from atlanta and we had a great time here. Food was very tasty especially haleem and chicken biryani is very delicious. We felt like we were experiencing hyderabadi style and their hospitality is real good. Hope we come back to taste their haleem and chicken biryani soon ! Loved it ...

those reviews are fake. In my time in the us this is worst food I have had... Though the service was good the back looked super ghetto and very dirty. If you are looking for cold bad tasting buffet this is the place for you. All in all just dont go its not worth it. Plus its 13.65! Per person
