If there was a symbol for a half star, they would get a 3 1/2 Star. Since I am retired, I enjoy eating out a lot. The one thing, I like in the small places like Gogi is Good Hot Quality food, and Most of all... Great Service... I can have great food, and the service or the people who work in the place can be lousy and it does ruin my Restaurant Experience with them..... This is the case with Gogi Bibimbap. I have been here several times, and the quality of the food has been top notch and good. I thought the dishes had a unique flavor which I enjoyed for a small place. However, after 5 times going in there, it all seems the same... The people who work behind the line to fix your dish, come across as though they do not care if you are there are not. While eating, not once do they come over to ask you about the dish, or even Thank you for coming into their place. After all, I did not have to come. The final straw which broke the Camels back for me was when I asked for some additional rice. A young girl was sitting at a table with friends and she asked for some additional rice and the young man behind the line quickly accommodated her. So, I went up to the line and asked if I could have additional rice and he said, it will cost a $1. more. I guess he didnt see me watching him given rice away to the other customers when asked. I do not like this. Personally, I can buy a 25 lb of rice at Costco for $8. and Gogi want to charge you a $1. for one serving of rice. I have yet to go to ANY Asian Restaurant and they charge you additional for rice. So, because of these, and even though I liked their food... I do not find their Service to be friendly... So, I have driven by many times, to find a better place to enjoy my Lunch. Sorry Gogi Bibimbap; Customer Service is #1.

The build your own bowl is wonderful and the ingredients always taste fresh. I have tried the various rices, frequently mix up my veggie routine, and have tried all the added proteins (Tip: the seafood is so fun and they cook it fresh right then for you, because its not as popular). My preference is the cold bowl, but the "dol sot" style that crisps the rice in a cast iron bowl is also delicious. The kimbap is very tasty. I tried the japchae and it was also good, but not remarkable. Get the Gogi app! They can prep the order for you ahead of time and building up points gets you free appetizers and even a free entree. Plus theres always k-pop countdowns on TV!

Absolutely fantastic. Went there with work for lunch and got the dol sot, sizzling bowl, and it was awesome. A ton of food, the meat is delicious and the vegetables are very fresh. Went there again and got what is essentially a bibimbap wrap, imagine the sizzling bowl but in a wrap instead, and once again it was fantastic. The people who work there are super nice and friendly, but not in that "Im trying to seem friendly"-way, but in the honest good people way. Price is good too, lots of value. I absolutely recommend this place

Wonderful to please those Korean tastebuds. Download the "Gogi Bibimbop" app to preorder or see prices and the menu. Kimbop is excellent. I love this as a healthy place for my kids to eat. Sodas, cold unsweetened teas, aloe drink, sac sac juices and I believe I saw cold beer. Quality vegatables that look chosen with care. Check out the latest Kpop songs while you eat! Very kind and friendly staff. Clean.

The staff here is quite friendly and accommodating. This is not a valet and dine restaurant, so do not come in expecting a private wait staff. That being said, the food portions are generous and the flavor is sizzling, glistening, and has a great kick if you want it. Extraordinary quality for the price you pay and is one of the top Korean bites in Richmond hands down!

Dont use the restroom without ordering food first! Went here to meet some friends, they hadnt arrived and I went in to use the bathroom. Came back outside and was yelled at by two "owners" for making them get up. The one proceeded to taunt me, asked if I needed a "tip" and then smacked me in the back of the head. Physical assault for using the restroom, classy!

Bibimbap isnt something youll find in a lot of places around Richmond. Its basically a bowl of rice, veggies, and meat. Its served in a bowl so hot that you can crack an egg on top and the egg cooks as you mix it around in the bowl. Its sort of like making your own bowl of fried rice. Its fun and tasty, and I would eat here again.

Johnny, the owner is the man and never fails at making us laugh. The food is unreal and kicks anything else like it in Richmond in the pants. I highly recommend the Dol Sot (whatever ingredients you want, its all good) and the Mandoo (pork). This is our tenth visit and its always perfect.

What a special treat this place is! I started off with the pork dumplings and had the hot bowl as my main dish. Both were fantastic. I cannot wait to come back for more. Gigi Biibimbop is the place to be. Doesnt hurt that Gelati Celesti is right next door either!

Ive been here four or five times and its always good. All of the ingredients (tons of options) are fresh and the meat is delicious. The staff is friendly and personable, its always clean inside, and they hook up the food quickly.

Im so glad I found this place! The owners and staff are very nice and friendly, and the foods are authentic and delicious. I only tried bulgogi bibimbap, but next time Im going to try my favorite bunsik, ddeokbokki.
