Another Cheese Cake Factory within a week, can you tell I’m becoming addicted? Well this one was a lucky one since I did not know there was one in Fairfax, a town only a few minutes from where we are in Herndon. We were going shopping at the big Mall in Fairfax, when we decided to have a small meal at the Cheese Cake Factory on the ground level of the Mall. This one was much more impressive and bigger than the one in Baltimore. It looked like one of those high priced restaurants in New York. The interior was warm, clean and chic. It was early in the evening (5:00 pm) so it was not busy, save for a few people sitting outside. It was a beautiful day too with little moisture in the air, making the outside sitting the preferred sitting for all that arrived at that time. We did exactly what we did in Baltimore; ordered soup, salad and one appetizer. We did not want to get too filled up to not have our cheese cake. Mark and I ordered the soup of the day, which happened to be a delicious French mushroom soup, while Desire went for the Greek salad. To this we added 1 appetizer, a plate of mussel. The cheese cake orders changed as well; I ordered the lemon-raspberry cheese cake instead of the ultimate red velvet cake. Mark changed to the Chocolate cheese cake, while Desire had the Pinacolada instead of the mango-key lime. The portions are big. The welcome and wait staff were pleasant and polite. The lady that served us was one of the most pleasant service people I have encountered in any restaurant in the last 4 years. She knew what she was doing. She was courteous, polite and friendly; she had a conversation with us but knew not to over step her bounds, checked in with us to make sure all was going well, and wished us a great evening after our meal was done. I really did not see or experience anything negative while at the restaurant. PS: “If it looks good, eat it” – Andrew Zimmerman.

I cant stand this place -- not just this location, pretty much all the Cheesecake factories are on par with each other. Somehow, its still seen as a premium restaurants by the general population. It seems like I try to give them the benefit of the doubt like once a year, then always leave saying "im not going back there". Its overpriced, the service is spotty, the ambience/seating stinks, and the food is decent but nothing to write home about. The portions are huge at least - maybe not the best thing for Mercians, but as a busy and active person I like having leftovers for work. Last time (and this is a perfect example of any visit i have had), it took about 40 minutes to bring out our side salads. It was obvious that the main courses were coming out too, so they put those under some hidden heat lamps until we were done with the salad, then brought out the main dishes. One of the main dishes had salad with it to: NOTE to Cheesecake Staff: DO NOT place COLD Salads under a heat lamp!! This time we were seating right next to the lovely server computer where they ring everything in. This was actually better than the usual: being sitting about 3 inches from someone you dont know. There are much better, nicer, more authentic places in this area to choose from. The cheesecake is pretty good, so i get it to go :)

It usually is one of our favorite spots for brunch... But not today. Let me start by admitting my son is very picky but we have managed by getting a plain bagel there many times. This time the bagels were so old you could hardly bite them so that of course upset my son and with no alternative acceptable to him, the staff did ask, I give them that, I had to wrap up and go before we had a chance to enjoy our pancakes. After waiting a while to see if they have fresh bagels I had to call the manager, Michael. I explained to him how disappointing the experience was and gave him my credit card and told him we have to now go without really finishing our meal. He came back, no real apology or effort to make our experience any better and handed me the bill. I asked where my pancakes were, he just looked at me and clearly surprised said Oh let me check... Obviously spent no time trying to ensure our experience was at least improved. Too bad.... Not that I need $3 off for the coffee I didnt get to drink or at least the offer of a free dessert in the future, which is actually reasonable around here for a restaurant to offer when they bring you bad food - I dont need it but it would have shown some concern over our ruined brunch. Too bad because I am not sure we will return soon. Who knows what else is stale in their kitchen...

My first experience with a Cheesecake Factory was an early afternoon lunch for my birthday, and I can honestly say that my experience was beyond what I expected. Despite a busy Sunday lunch, the service was sublime throughout. My server came by numerous times, refilled my parties beverages long before they were necessary. The server memorized our orders without the use of a sheet (which is always impressive if someone pulls it off successfully). My partys food came out flawless, and quickly despite number of heads in the establishment. I have since returned to this location (as well as another Cheesecake Factory), and I have yet to be let down. Ive approached the manager each visit to compliment them on their speedy, accurate, and respectful service. My only gripe is that the atmosphere is a bit off. It aims to be an overly "classy" restaurant with less-than-appropriate seating and music that doesnt match the theme. It always happens to be too loud where I cant seem to hold conversation easily, or too quiet to the point where it becomes annoying (like a mosquito lingering around you). I recommend the Americana Burger!

Drove 40 minutes to come use a gift card. Havent been to Cheesecake Factory in about 2 years but I loved it back then. We ordered eggs benedict and a 2 egg brunch that had 2 bacon and 2 pancakes. When the meal came the pancakes were missing. We found the waiter and pancakes were brought out. Then we cut into the eggs benedict and they were solidly cooked like a hard boiled egg. Waitress came over and agreed it wasnt right so she took them back. By the time the corrected order came out, the other food was nearly gone. Cut into the eggs, and they were nearly solid in the middle, definitely no runny yolk like a poached egg should be. At this point everyone else has finished so there is no point in trying to get the meal. A manager came over a few minutes later and said he would take the meal off the check. We sat not eating (everyone done eating) for 10 minutes before the waitress came back to ask if we wanted dessert.... Im sorry that I drove this far and that someone gave me a gift card here :( and Im sorry that something has changed since I used to love this restaurant. :(

Had lunch today here for the first time in a long time. My food was good however the childs meal that I ordered was awful. First the plate for the childs meal was extremely hot. The waiter set it down in front of my toddler and if I hadnt checked it she would have burned herself on it. The grilled cheese was very bland. The fruit was horrible. They served tiny diced up cubes of apple and pineapple and there were a few mushy strawberries on top. When I asked the waiter to bring us something better he brought us another bowl of mushy strawberries. They were disgusting. I then told him this was unacceptable and he proceeded to tell me that he would eat them. Really??? So I asked to speak to the manager. The manager did not come to speak with me. Instead he showed up at our table with a fresh bowl of acceptable strawberries For the $7 meal they could have 1. spoken to me first and 2. comped the meal. I was really disappointed with the quality and service. I will not order a childs meal from there again and I will think twice when considering to dine here again.
