I had an excellent lunch here recently. The restsurant is close to work so it was just a quick walk over. The first thing youll notice is that the decor inside. A lot of work has been put into the design and its very appealing. Immediately upon walking in through the large wooden doors youll see the sushi bar straight ahead with a small waiting area on the right. To the left is dining area with the hibachi grills. Which is where we went. I ended up ordering Sirloin Strips & Shrimp for lunch. My co-worker ordered Volcano Rolls from the sushi area. Heres were the fun began. When our chef came out he put on a heck a show, in fact one of the best Ive seen in some time. Also there was a lady with two small children at the table. When the chef lit the fire one started screaming while the other was enraptured. Pretty funny. All the usually tricks were employed while the meal was prepared. Fire, check, balancing an egg and doing some acrobatics before cracking, check, onion volcano, check. Lots of flair indeed. Right about the time the chef was finishing with my dish my co-workers food arrived from the sushi bar. They take presentation to a whole new level here. The volcano rolls and additional sushi on the plate looked awesome. I dont think any other places like this in Greenbrier take to this level. My meal was also as delicious as it looked and there was nothing left in short order. I didnt hear any complaints from my co-worker either. All in all an outstanding visit. It was a little pricy but not to bad. Great food & very friendly staff. Geisha is definitely a great place for a date or youre looking for a good place to go with a group of friends. No doubt about it. Check them out.

Have you ever had a restaurant owner/manager tell you, and I quote from Geisha in Greenbrier, "I dont care if you ever come back. I have thousands of customers. If you dont come back, it wont matter. You should have complained about your food being too cold before you touched it! I will give you 20% off." So, flabbergasted and unable to finish a sentence without being interrupted by him, I say, "Sir, I am in customer service and the way you are handling this is the most appalling service I have ever received. How are you going to charge me full price ($21 for shrimp!) when I ate half of my luke warm soup, my salad, 2 shrimp (which he cuts me off again to say 2 shrimp are free appetizers) and 2 pieces of vegetables? And you took the remainder of my meal back to the kitchen so I cant even heat it properly at home?!" He then proceeds to tell me that he will get it back from the kitchen! ARE YOU KIDDING ME!? The story gets better...I said I was happy to pay for my soup and salad (which came out with my meal btw instead of an appetizer) then he doesnt charge my friends for their entries...not at all our intention bc their food was great. A nice woman comes to the table, quite owner-like, we tell her the billing mistake about my friends and the man proceeds to YELL at me from the bar about 30 ft away on a Friday night with tons of customers around!!! The lady apologizes profusely and tries to convince us to come back someday. Not happening. But here is the kicker...as we are leaving...another employee says, "have a great night, ladies. I am really sorry about all that. HES DRUNK!" WOW!!???

Hibachi filet-mignon smelled and tasted like broiled hamburger. The meat did not appear to have been cooked in any sauce or seasonings and was well-done despite having requesting medium-rare when asked. The rice was fine and the vegetables were okay. The white sauce was really soupy and had a more zesty flavor than what I normally get and like at better hibachi places, this was a disappointment since I needed it to eat the terrible meat. We sat at a table and ordered from the kitchen since were not into the "show" and dont like waiting around for a group to fill in the hibachi table. This was a mistake because our waitress hardly ever visited the tables and did not take any of our used dishes away. The two of us were sitting at a 4 person table with 2 salads, 2 soups, and edamame bowls piled on one side while trying to eat our hamburger-like main plates on the other. The restaurant was about 3/4 full and really warm, I had to take my button-up off. There were fans all over the place but when I asked the staff to turn them on, they just said they didnt know how to turn them on so they just stay off. Were not going to return, there are plenty of other Hibachi places to try. Weve had our best luck at small places so far, these bigger Hibachi places tend to be lower quality than the hole-in-the-wall places.

Yesterdays Mothers Day can be a challenge at many restaurants, this one is no different. There were quite a few families who made reservation based on the info listed on their website. Two issues arose. 1st was heat. A/C was Not working in the location we were seated at and requesting to move was not an option with a party of 8. This caliber of restaurant should have backup fans given the heat generated when cooking. 2nd was the reservation - Website listed hours of ops as 1100am - 2:00pm and 5:00 to 10:00pm. I asked if they have 5pm opening for 8? Yes they do and so I booked it, as did others as I found out once there. Additionally, on the outside door was a white sheet of paper stating they would be open from 11 to 10 with no closure. no wonder people were seated upon arrival and all I got was sorry the person did not tell you over the phone. Also, because of the heat, water had to be asked for repeatedly and the chef had to ask for a steak knife no less than 4 times for one person in the party. This rating is strictly addressing their customer service. Word to the wise, be more specific when making reservation; ask if A/C is working, have a backup restuarant moving forward. Food was very good albeit expensive. and the reason no prices are listed. I really should no better.

Weve been coming here for years and they have always been on point and the food has been great. This last time not so much. We waiting about 20 for the chef to wheel the main course out after finishing our salads which had never been the case before. During this extra time I started to look around and took notice of a few things I have never noticed before: the place is actually pretty run down. There are stains and spills on the walls and water spots on the ceiling tiles. There is what looks like black mold on the air registers, the vent hoods are caked with grease, the cook tops are really beat up with shotty repair work and cracked welds, the table top had what looked like wood putty in the joints. Didnt use the bathroom so I cant comment on that. The cook was still entertaining and put on a good show, But the food taste burnt. Im not sure if the heat was too high or what, but everything had a burnt taste to it. It still had the same flavor as before, just a burnt taste to it. Not sure we will be coming back.
