We decided to give this place a try as it had fairly good reviews online. The dish I ordered was decent, but there were issues with some of the other items that my party had ordered. The Triple Delight, which has beef, chicken, and shrimp looked really good, but when you ate it, all you could taste was the very salty sauce that they used. I tried a piece of it and all you could taste was salt. The beef was also kind of old. Several people in our party ordered some of their sushi rolls. These were pretty inconsistent as some of the rice in them was too dry, others the rice was too wet, rolls were falling apart, pieces were all different lengths. Some of the “Vegetarian” rolls we ordered had pieces of what appeared to be smoked salmon stuck to the outside of them. It appears that the chef did not properly clean the surface where the food was being prepared. It seemed like the chefs were all amateurs at this place as this typically would not happen in a place with properly trained chefs. Won’t be coming back to this place.

It smells like a bait shop when you walk in. I was hoping that wasnt a sign of things to come, but the sushi was barely edible. Poorly put together (the rice kept sticking to the plate, rather than the fish; the California rolls were the worst Ive ever had) and tasted like, well, bait. My daughter and I were only able to eat a couple of pieces before crying uncle and leaving the rest untouched. The only edible thing was the unagi. It was also grossly overpriced for what you get - putting aside the freshness issues. I guess that was a $30 lesson in where NOT to get sushi. Shiro up the street is much better. We wont be back to Eastgate.

I placed my order at 6:20pm and had to call after 45 minutes to ask for a status. I called 2 more times after to check again since I had not received the order. By the third time I called, they thought it might be out for delivery because it wasnt in the kitchen. 30 minutes after the 3rd call, they delivery shows up. If it hasnt been in the kitchen for 30 minutes, where has it been? I refused the order and asked for a refund. Im disappointed since this place got such good reviews.

This has quickly become our favorite sushi restaurant. We are never disappointed by Mocas food quality, presentation and friendly service. The quality and presentation does not diminish with takeout or delivery either. All of the dishes that I have had, Chinese, Japanese or Thai have all been very good to excellent. I am a big fan of the spicy tuna rolls, perfect spiciness and a little extra crunch from some tempura flakes. The Bento Box is a great value.

My husband and I have been to Moca 3 times now (including 1 takeout) and it has been excellent every time. It is definitely more pricey than a typical Chinese takeout but its worth it. Their sushi is excellent! Try the yummy roll. And again though it"s pricey it is worth it. Their proportions are very generous. We are very excited to have such a great addition to South Riding. Try it out! You wont be disappointed.

I have been to Moca a number of times, and the food is phenomenal! Service is great and gracious. They even made a special roll for me when I asked them to try to do a "sashimi" roll....it was beyond expectations! I recommend this restaurant highly, find the price point is reasonable for the quality and service you receive. My husband is not a sushi fan, so the other offerings on the menu he thoroughly enjoyed!

This was the worst sushi Ive ever had. I ordered a take-out lunch special which includes any 2 rolls and salad for $8.95. I got back to work to find that the spicy salmon rolls were filled mostly with panko bread crumbs and barely any salmon. They tasted like bready rice rolls, hardly any flavor of salmon, so I threw them out. Definitely will not be going here again.

Everybody should go to this restaurant!!!! I took a Google virtual tour of this restaurant before hand and found it very elegant and inviting. The food is even more elegant and each dish looked like a great piece of art. I didnt even want to ruin the beauty of the dishes when they were brought to me. Absolutely love the restaurant and will definitely go back!!!

The entre I ordered was beautiful as alway, but I delivered. Seeing as I live far from the restaurant I tip a generous 25% to my drivers to all drivers, and the driver has the audacity to tell me my tip is not up to par, and complains that he spent $5 in gas to get here, which is not possible! So I give East Gate Asian Bistro one star!

Husband and I have become frequent clients here in the past couple of weeks. The sushi is fresh and beautifully presented. We also ventured to their hot dishes, and that was also a great surprise. Totally recommend! The restaurant, however, is small like in the city. But other than that, we also like the decor and service.

This place is fantastic!! Everything I ordered so far tasted soooo good and their plates are very beautiful, too! Both sushi and their Asian fusion dishes (mainly Thai and Chinese influence) are great. No other really good sushi place nearby. This is it!! I am really grateful that this restaurant opened up near our house.

We moved to VA from CT in November of 09 -- and have been searching tirelessly for good chinese food since our arrival. After 9 months of searching we FINALLY happened into Moca... an answer to our prayers. Everything is excellent! Like the last poster wrote, its a little pricy, but portions are great. THANK YOU!!!

Friendly service and fantastic food. Both dine-in and take-out. I love the unique sushi rolls and the standards, like Broccoli Beef and fried rice. I live in South Riding and I keep forgetting that this excellent restaurant is so close by. Just tried it again and they remain excellent.

Their Queen sushi roll is amazing! I also like their Thai Curry Chicken dish. The best part is they deliver! Smart move on their end. Weve ordered from them a lot for stay in date nights after baby :) Convenient for random late night sushi cravings, they are open till 10 weeknights.

I eat here often (at least a couple of times a month) and Ive never been disappointed. The food is great and theres plenty on the menu for those who dont care for sushi. The service here has been top notch every time Ive dined in. This is a great restaurant!

Weve been getting takeout sushi from Moca regularly ever since they first opened, and have never had a bad experience. The food is excellent. I cant comment on the service since we only do takeout there, but weve always found the sushi to be quite good.

The food is not only the best sushi Ive ever had, its displayed so beautifully! Its a special event when we come here because we buy about 4 of the special rolls. Absolutely love this place, been coming here for over a year. Worth every penny.
