Although Hing Ta in Rocky Mount offers a sumptuous oriental buffet from Wednesday through Saturday, I actually prefer going on a day when there is no buffet. Hing Ta must have a real chef as the meals are quite exquisite. The wonton soup contains the wontons along with shrimp, crab, mushrooms, onions and other assorted taste tantalizers. My latest entrée was parmesan crusted shrimp, scallops and chicken in an exceptional sauce, bordered with steamed broccoli over rice cooked to perfection. You can eat Chinese food a lot of places. But Manager Lien Truong and her reliable associate James try to insure that customers can actually dine. The atmosphere is very eye appealing with oriental décor, an entertaining fish tank and Hing Ta is very comfortable with nice seating accompanied by soothing music. We had not been in a while as we do not live in Rocky Mount, but I shall remember that when I want to dine as opposed to merely eating, I will make the journey again to the delectable destination of Hing Ta.

This is as close to true Chinese food as you can get in Eastern North Carolina. And I know because Ive been all over China! The food is very fresh and the staff could not be more helpful or friendly. No this is not a "super buffet" with as much American food as (what some claim) Chinese. And no the decor is not cutting edge but thats not why we come. We come for the fantastic food and service. The restaurant is very clean and the price is good.

Hing Ta has always been one of my favorite places to eat in Rocky Mount. I compare every Chinese restaurant to Hing Ta, so they have set the bar (and the bar is high). The food is excellent and the staff is even better. I am always greeted with such a warm feeling when I walk through the door.

The food was okay...not great. The atmosphere was that of a little worn shop. The artwork was dated and even the tables were a bit beat. The food, like said before, okay. It just didnt taste all that great. Im told the buffet is okay but the sit-down dinner was lackluster.

This place is delicious. It doesnt offer gluten-free options, though its possible to navigate safely, even the buffet. The food is old school Chinese American. No bottled sauces or pre-fab packaged food. Everything was fresh, tasty, and hard to stop eating.

Note: The buffet is only open for lunch. We had dinner there and were very happy with our selections. Also had a very pleasant discussion with the owner who was extremely pleasant and entertaining. Overall a very nice dining experience.

The food is amazing the staff is wonderful and very nice. Did not rush you to finish your food even suggested you eat more. It is a small place but very inviting and relaxing. If I ever come back to this area I would come back again.

The food is great and the staff are friendly. Maybe a dollar or two more for typical Chinese meals compared to other places but really worth it. The buffet is also fantastic, featuring some side dishes you just cant get anywhere else.

Typical buffet, clean and friendly. Small selection of food and two kind of sushi. If you want a truly great Chinese buffet experience go to Atlanta Ga an try Pacific-Buffet-Sushi-and-Grill these guys know how to do it.

So so tasting food, Not much flavor in the food. Buffet never changes. If early, buffet is barely warm and kitchen can not keep up with buffet if it gets busy. Same items served every Friday and Sat. Price too high

Perhaps the most impressive Chinese restaurant my wife and I have eaten at in quite some time. If you enjoy a quiet atmosphere, superb service and splendid Chinese taste then this is the place for you!

Walked in to see buffet before eating and could NOT believe the dried up food lack of selection and a server making excuses of food coming out. Guess our face said it all. Hope they step it up soon!!
