My brother, his girlfriend and I live in South Florida. We took a trip out to Bristol for about two weeks this past July. I was the trip planner and I checked out some local places online for us to visit while we were staying in a nearby vacation home in the beautiful city of Bristol. We were amazed by the reviews and hours of Blackbird Bakery, so we checked it out. Our first visit was absolutely wonderful!! We were first of all blown away by the business being mostly open 24h- with the exception of Sundays- and how friendly the staff was and how kindly they greeted us. Secondly, we were very impressed with the crowd!! They were super busy- and the line moved quickly!! Thirdly- the coffee and the treats... My brother and I are coffee maniacs!! We were so excited to see the prices and selection of coffee flavors- not to mention, the taste... The coffee was phenomenal!!!! And the treats... I went to school for Baking and Pastry and specialized in doughnuts. So when I saw all the goodies and - lol the doughnuts - I got way too happy... They were ABSOLUTELY delicious!! And kind of huge... Totally worth your money, and your taste buds will thank you later! We returned to Blackbird several times during our visit, and we were not the slightest bit disappointed any time!! (We even took treats home!) Until next time...

This place is absolutely as good as youve heard it is, so I wont go much into the baked goods, of which there are a nice variety. What they do, they do well, and that goes for anything on the bakery menu. You will want to give them all your money and implore them to let you live there forever. And its open, like, basically always? And theres free wifi? A dream world. Too good to be true. Im convinced I enter an alternate reality every time I visit. Specific remarks on doughnuts: they have batter and cake doughnuts. Both are delish. I recommend the Pink Almond off the top of my head. (Incidentally, if youre looking for something as close as possible to a Krispy Kreme chocolate glazed Kreme-filled doughnut without driving to Kingsport, they have a doughnut that is more similar that anything you could get elsewhere in Bristol.) For those who have a picky/well-developed taste for caffeinated beverages: the coffee is good. Not great, nothing special, but far from bad, and locally roasted is always a plus.

Busy bakery, huge selection of cakes, desserts, pastries, and donuts. They also have ice cream. I went on a Saturday morning at 10. There was a substantial line, about 15 ahead of us. It was worth the wait (about 15-20 minutes), the line moved pretty quickly. I had donuts-- strawberry cake and chocolate covered bavarian cream and a cup of coffee. You can buy special coffees as well. I just got the serve yourself--they had dark roast and house blend. I tried the dark roast and it was very good. There were lots of people taking out, but there were lots of people enjoying their treats there. Inside three seating areas seat 50-75 people. Pleasant dining areas are decorated with local art and photography. Fun outing on Saturday morning, there were lots of of parents with kids making memories. Also the staff are very friendly and efficient.

OMG, shut yo mouth this place is the best! If you havent been then you are missing out. Those apple fritters are a must try and if you need something chocolate, get the Smores Bar. I have never had a bad dessert here. I love the homemade ice cream as well, but the pies, cakes, brownies, and the numerous other items never disappoint either. If you like rich get the pink almond anything and my best friend says the Lemon Bars will change your life. They just remodeled the place in Sept 2014 and the cute décor and homey atmosphere will have you wanting not to ever leave. Order ahead for work events and you will be the favorite. Everybody loves some Blackbird!

I was surprised to find several people who didnt like this place at all. Its all depending on taste. I love it here. The smell when you enter through the door is the best. Most people absolutely love their pink almond cake, to me it tastes as if Im eating cake made with Jergens cherry almond lotion. The crème tarte with blackberries was always my favorite. I enjoyed the cheesecake with whole berries. Everything is always fresh. My biggest complaint is when I really like an item, then go back to get it again and they no longer make it. During those times, when all else fails the chocolate glazed doughnut with sprinkles is always there for me :)

Me and my son have been loyal customers of this bakery for the last 9 months (ever since we 1st moved to Bristol), and gave them a lot of business (just about every day since we have lived in Bristol), and the 1 time when my son was unhappy with a desert item (the Baklava) that he had never tried before, he told the manager (that knows us very well) that he was unhappy with the Baklava (because it was way too sweet), she refused to give a very loyal customer an exchange for something else (when he was unhappy with it after taking 1 very small bite of it). They do not care if a customer is unhappy. Blackbird Bakery has lost our business forever.

The Two cakes we ordered tasted terrible and were over priced the chai lattes tasted like soap and when i complained that the cakes tasted so bad and asked if i could perhaps try a different one and pay the difference on whatever cake i chose, the cashier said sure and tossed our old cakes in the trash. When the cashier returned with our new cakes she attempted to charge me full price and said they were not allowed to take food back or give discounts after she had agreed to do just that for me and had thrown my cakes in the trash. Obviously i was furious and will never be back.

Never had a bad experience with this place. Ive gone there two or three times for donuts. They always taste fresh and delicious. Really friendly staff, too! I dont know his name, but theres this one heavy weight man who is very courteous, he offered me a free complimentary water without me needing to even ask! Even visited my table to ask me how everything was. The only bad thing about eating here is finding a parking space; its typically packed and theres no dedicated parking lot. Still -- well-worth the effort of walking.

Ive gone here for a little over two years now. The bakery has grown more popular than ever and I feel like they just keep getting better. The cheesecakes and brownies are great. Most definitely my favourites. I like the environment and the staff/owners. Theyre always interested in the customers and make it a point to ensure a comfortable location. If you like sweets, coffee, and relaxing drop by and give them a chance. Youll come back!

The display case is reason enough. The decadent offerings are neutrality to behold and fantastic to eat. There are good coffee drinks available, and the staff is very friendly. The building is charming and cozy for being as spacious as it is. Plan to eat a small snack and enjoy the view of people bustling in and out, strapped like pack mules with expertly made sweets and goodies. This place is no good for my bloodsugar.

Best doughnuts and pastry in the area. Everything here is fabulous. I also love the cool and kitschy atmosphere of the place. They have really stepped up their game with their coffee as its always fresh and strong. Only downside is that sometimes it is so crowded you can hardly get inside. But, hey, its worth the wait especially if your heart and stomach are set on a warm sticky bun and coffee. Truly excellent!
