My boyfriend and I stopped by this place for the first time a couple days ago! The only disappointment that we had was that we didnt go sooner. They were very clean, the environment had a cute little old school diner vibe and we were seated promptly. Our server was Emily and she was so amazing youd never know that she was new. She was so sweet and friendly and she was very efficient. My boyfriend and I go out to eat frequently and she was the best server we have had in a very long time. She offered the promotions, answered all of our questions and even told us about FREE PIE WEDNESDAYS! To top it off, the manager was out there cleaning tables too, (which earned even more respect) so that we could tell her how amazing Emily was. As for the food, the prices are great. We both had meals, added extra sides and the bill never passed $30. It got to our table quickly and still warm. The good was good, pancakes could use a little more fluff, but everything else made up for it. Portions were perfect. They have that huge selection of pies, all looking amazing, so we decided to take one home. 8.99 for an entire coconut cream pie! We will definitely be returning, hopefully on a regular basis. Definitely on a Wednesday and were definitely asking for Emily.

One of the reasons I have always enjoyed going to VI is because of their loaded potato soup. I dont go here often, however, because our local VI closed down and the nearest one is over 20 minutes from where I live. Last night I had the opportunity to go to this latter VI. I wasnt very hungry so I figured I would just order a bowl of soup and have a small slice of pie. When I ordered my potato soup the waitress said they no longer had it on the menu....and hadnt for over a year or more. What??? Well, to think the time span in which I had not visited had been that long since I last had their potato soup made no sense to me and I was quite upset that it is no longer offered on the menu - it should be added back on. I mean, who really wants either chicken noodle or some other kind of vegetable soup choice? These two additional soup choices were all I was given and I was very, very disappointed and dismayed. This was worse than when I went to Taco Bell earlier in the day and asked for the Verde Sauce and was told they discontinued it.........grrrrrrrrr.

A man in a red shirt seated my husband and I. We had waited more than 5 minutes for service and I said to him no one has come by yet. He got huffy and ugly yelling I just sat you 30 seconds ago. I said no its been more than 5minutes. He grew angrier. He sent someone over and whispered to him before he came. Matt however came with a smile a positive attitude and willingness to serve and help. I was pleasantly surprised. Throughout the rest of our time he was so nice and pleasant and eager to please. I did try to speak pleasantly to the man again and tried to expect to him why I asked about service. You see he had seated several other customers that already had their drinks that came in substantially later than we had. I gave them a little extra time since they sat so many but .... well he told me that he was the district manager/owner. I received this within minutes of our departure. So my advice AVOID this place!! No deserves that kind of treatment and I told him so.

Not sure why we torture ourselves by coming back here, but we wont be making that mistake again. We waited 45 minutes for our food to come and we only got our food after I asked the manager to check on our food. Then I received a large salad and told the our server it was supposed to be a small salad that came with the 1/2 sandwich. She said it was correct and proceeded to bring us a check with a $8 charge for 1/2 a sandwich and a $9 for the large salad. The manager took care of the double charge. Then as we ate, we saw a bug crawling on the wall behind us, which turned my son off his dinner and he couldnt finish eating. Very disappointing as we were out for a family dinner to celebrate my husbands birthday. We were so aggravated that we left without the pie we intended on ordering. If I could leave less than 1 star I would.

It must have been an off night , I did not see the sign however to that effect. 1) Service was terrible slow, 2) my omelet was terribly over cooked even though I specifically requested it be left soft, my pancakes had been left on the grill until the omelet was cooked or was it necessary to hold everything until the hash browns which were served white and barely warm, were prepared. A very unsatisfactory offering. My wife had a 1/2 Turkey sandwich with a cup of soup was tasty. After 10 years of experience as a restaurant owner/ operator I believe I am qualified to judge this episode as totally unsatisfactory. Perhaps I would have returned everything had it not taken so long to be served.

This is a good place to go for late night coffee and pie or if you want breakfast for dinner. Their omelets are good, and so are the hash browns. The prices are reasonable. There is a large window across the front, so you can watch the traffic go by. The service is always slow...always sloooow. It has been for years, and shows no sign of speeding up any time soon. Village Inn is good for finishing off a late night with friends, but not for a meal when you have anywhere you have to be. The cleanliness of the bathrooms is pretty hit and miss. The place does have a cozy feel. There is plenty of parking, and a traffic light to get back onto the highway if you go out of the north entrance.

I love their wheat bread toasted. Nice and cozy place if you go at the right time. Can be a long wait if you go on Saturday or Sunday morning as it is a popular destination on those days. For me, the food has always been pretty consistent and decent. As for the wait staff, some are pros and know how to make a guest feel like a guest. Some start off great but get sidetracked. My recommendation for them is to have the newer wait staff work with the much more seasoned ones to see and learn what they do. I go here pretty often and its one of my favorite local spots. I like to go when they arent packed. Try the wheat toast. Youll thank me later.

Had been there many times in the past and had had positive experiences but todays visit was one of the worst we have ever had. Restaurant was not crowded, we were seated imediately but still waited about twenty minutes to order. Our wait time after ordering to receive our food was another thirty minutes. Orders were delivered incomplete requiring repeated requests to fill them. Several plates were delivered so carelessly that food was spilled onto the table and the waitress never cleaned it up. This experience was so bad that we may not ever return!
