The space inside is certainly big, and the subtle aroma of burning incense greets you when you walk in. They have cocktails, beer, and wine, as well as your traditional pho dishes and hot plates. One of their walls boasts a collection of autographs from famous politicians which is pretty cool. The two sizes for the pho are "cup" and "bowl" as opposed to regular and large. I expected the bowl to be the large size but it was actually pretty small. The garden roll was good but it was $5.00 when its normally like $3.95 at most other places. The pho was $8 (or $8.50, cant remember). I got the pho tai and the meat was pretty thickly sliced. Eye of round steak is usually pretty thin. Sriracha isnt even in bottles. You have to spoon the sauce. There was also some gnats and a fly that wouldnt stop bugging me (pun intended) while I was eating. I was eating with one hand and bathing them away with the other. It was annoying. The service was good and friendly, though, which is why I give it two stars and not one. Not sure what the other person is talking about--I didnt get a hot towel after my meal!

A MUST TRY if you are just visiting, and for those who live here and love Viet food! BAM This place by far has the best Pho in the DMV area. I have made it a mission to hit every Vietnamese restaurants after being introduced to it 25 years ago right here in DC. Well, I have and this place is it. There is a big teddy bear Manger guy named Tai, he has kept us coming back. He knows what I drink! He knows our fav appetizers! At 1st I was like.. hummm , well I do come here a lot, but then a few other customers came in and the same thing!! Like whatttt? He gets to know his customers!! I love that, and the veg crispy rolls - YUM, when I want fried this is the best fried veg spring roll EVER. I have tried just about everything on the menu. You really cant go wrong here.

I was visiting a friend in DC and arrived early evening. It was not very crowded and we were placed in the front by the window. More people began arriving. The waiter finally came to take our order, and he never came to our table again. He did, however, go to the booth right next to us many times! The only person that did anything was the woman who gave us more water. The pho was average and a small bowl for the price. Honestly, the service was lousy. I had to go back to the bar to get the bill and even then there was a delay. Dont sit at the front of this restaurant and be sure you give the waiter payment when you get the bill. It took 1 1/2 hours to get out of that place!

Came to this place with some coworkers one day. They were telling me about this place where they got pho and had amazing spring rolls. Well, they where correct. The spring rolls here are pretty damn good. The best Ive ever had, hands down. The pho wasnt anything special. The pho played 2nd fiddle to the spring rolls, as far as Im concerned. The service was fast, and friendly. The decor wasnt anything special. Id recommend this place for a quick bite thats in the neighborhood.

Dining in here is perfectly fine, but the you should be careful when carrying out. I ordered the beef soup, no.17, and I got home to find out that they gave me raw beef that I would have to cook myself. I dont know about you, but paying $10+ to have to cook myself doesnt really make sense. I called back and the guy said that people order it this way... which is fine if I had said to him yes ill cook everything myself, but I didnt do that. I will not be going back here after this.

My husband and I love Namviet. They have the best crispy spring rolls, and wonton noodle soup. My husband loves their Namviet Stir Fry noodles with roasted pork, chicken and shrimp. They also have yummy soft shells crabs mmm... The only thing we dont like about Namviet is that its extremely hard to find a parking and most of the time, we would spend about half hour to find a spot. But if you know what to expect, you can drive around the corner to wait for a car to leave lol

This place is a small, family owned restaurant that offers great service. They even provide you with a hot towel at the end of your meal! The prices are very reasonable, especially for the DC metro area, and the portions are generous. The food is authentic, and so is the decor. I would recommend this place to anyone whos sick of the chains and who wants to add a new hole in the wall restaurant to their favorites list.

From the outside of this restaurant, I expected a tiny hole in the wall restaurant. Was I in for a treat! For a light dinner I had a garden roll with one of the BEST soups I have ever tasted, which I finished with a hot towel from the friendly staff. Clean, reasonably priced, and excellent food. Go.

Very solid Vietnamese food and the service is very good. The cha gio is good, (I think I had vegetarian cha gio once and it was surprisingly good), spring rolls are tasty, pho is solid but not great, pork skewers over vermicelli are delicious, fish in clay pot only ok. Definitely worth a try.

Amazing Vietnamese food. Ive been here a couple of times in the past few months. Everything I eat here is good. The chicken pho is delicious and very clean feeling. The number 27 is my go to. The portion sizes are just right and the prices are good. Excellent service and plenty of seating.

This 4-star restaurant has 5-star service. All of the servers were extremely kind and attentive. They have an extensive menu with lots of traditional Vietnamese dishes. They served large portions of food at a very reasonable price. I cant wait to go back and try something new.

I loved Nam Viet, they know what their customer want and catering to them in a professional manner. Their food is awesome with traditional southern Viet origin. Order one of their favorite fish fried dish and youre set for whole day.

Tried the #17 beef pho. Herbs and veggies were fresh and flavorful and the noodles were perfectly cooked. The broth wasnt quite as seasoned as Id like, but was solid overall. Definitely going back.

The decor is dated, and it is not the cleanest restaurant Ive been to; but the food is very good, especially the sea bass and sweet & sour salmon soup. Prices are also very good for Clarendon.

Great place! Ive liked everything I have tried. I like the spring rolls, the crispy rolls, and their take on orange chicken is SO good. Plus they have Buddha beer! Rub the belly! :)

Very quiet restaurant. Cheap food for DC, decent portions. My dish (lemongrass tofu) was syrupy sweet, but my husbands salt and pepper chicken was good according to him.
