I would give this a solid "ok." We ordered delivery and got a little bit of everything. Fried dumplings, salt and pepper wings, pad thai, spring rolls, wonton soup, and orange chicken. Food: ok. Its definitely not authentic anything, but it was hit or miss. The salt and pepper wings were great, the spring rolls were a little doughy tasting and overly greasy, the orange chicken sauce tasted like fake oranges, but the chicken itself was white meat and tempura battered and solid. The fried dumplings were great. The pad thai was delicious, but I would not call it pad thai... it had jalapenos and some sort of sweet sauce on it that is definitely not even close to traditional, but it was tasty nonetheless. The wonton soup was actually really good and the most authentic thing there. I would order the wings, the dumplings, the wonton soup, and the pad thai again, but dont recommend the pad thai if you want something actually thai. Service: Really fast delivery- just more than half an hour, so we appreciated that because we were super hungry. However, the phone/customer service is AWFUL. We called once because my friend had a question about her food and the person answering the phone spoke no English at all and couldnt answer her and hung up. Then we called again after ordering online to make sure my pad thai didnt have any peanuts because Im allergic, and the same thing happened again. Needless to say, my pad thai showed up with peanuts and I had to scrape the whole top layer off and hope for the best. It was really frustrating to not be able to communicate with the person on the phone, so dont expect much if you need to speak with someone. Overall, its hit or miss per dish here and the customer service is awful, but if youre going for happy hour/dine in or you just want some ok non-traditional speedy Asian food, you might like it.

I ordered 7 things from this place though Uber ears. I shouldve just lit my money on fire. Miso Soup: Didnt even make it in the bag... Teriyaki Tofu: Really sticky and gross, it was hard to work through Hot and Sour Soup: Sour in a bad way....it tasted oddly sweet and tangy like it was spoiled Kung Pao Tofu: Literally just a bunch of tofu and a small dash of peanuts....No veggies whatsoever. Kung Pao is supposed to be full of celery, onions, and peppers. I had originally ordered eggplant in garlic sauce but they were out of eggplant and had to call me to switch it out. Vegetable Tempura: THE WORST. It was like veggies were soaked in thick gross batter and happened to fall into the fryer at Mcdonalds. Then someone reached down and scraped them up after a couple of hours of being at the bottom. I took a few bites and stopped forcing myself. Dan Dan Cold Noodle Salad: This was ok. It could use more peanut sauce but it came with slices of cucumber with sesame seeds sprinkled on top. Fried Bananas: Just ok. Whatever batter theyre using isnt great but at least this was edible. Also who charges for hot oil? Dont give me the little sauce packets for free and then charge me for that. A $1 each? What a rip off.

Horrible Customer Service. I ordered food from this restaurant this past Saturday 6/24 and never received the food. I was meaning to call them the day after 6/25 but I got caught up and I could not get around to it. So I called on Monday at 5 pm since on Mondays they do not open until 4 pm. I spoke with the manager and asked if I could receive a refund because I never received the food, he stated that I didnt call earlier that it was not his problem. So, I told him that I would of loved to settle this without having to get my bank involved but with the lack of customer service and lack of willingness to accommodation me I told him that I would be making a dispute with my bank. I really did not want to have to go through my bank but the manager gave me no option. I would not go this restaurant on the lack of customer service. A lot of businesses dont understand that customer service goes a long way.

Man, the owner/manager (older Asian gentleman) is an A$$. After waiting for over an hour, he came to our table after we told the waitress we missed the happy hour for about 10 minutes and we wanted at least the food at h/r price. We were all polite but he started screaming at us because we wanted to order the food before the drinks (I mean petty stuff). It didnt end there, he started screaming at the waitresses as well, and they all seemed like it wasnt the first time. Just a horrible experience. Horribly organized, even worse customer service, and the food... well Ill never know. We went across the street to the Mexican food place. Go there instead, trust me.

Hunan Number One has excellent Chinese food and a decent sushi menu. Thats about all the compliment I can give. The service is terrible. Flat out disgusting in how I was treated. When I ordered food in April, they forgot my sushi. In addition to being nearly 40 minutes late, I calmly spoke to Michelle who was very helpful with my order. I tried to get them to give me a refund on an order THEY screwed up, and they would not do it. I tried to call back and place an order today and the MANAGER" says they dont deliver to my address anymore. Whatever the reason is, they are a worthless company stripping the chefs of their glory by rude inconsiderate service.

Went by Hunan One for happy hour on a Friday afternoon. My husband got one of their ginormous beers for $4.75 and I got a sushi roll. The sushi was fabulous. Honestly one of the better sushi rolls Ive ever had and definitely the best Ive had in DC/NOVA. The atmosphere is decent, not somewhere you would go for a nice evening out, more just tables & chairs. And unless you like to be around a little bit of rowdiness, I recommend going to happy hour early, because after everyone has two of those large beers the noise level rises and the lights get turned down & the club-like music starts around 10pm.

Truly one of the worst experiences Ive ever had at an establishment. My sober friend had her beer ripped from her hand at 1:50am while asking if she could have a minute to finish her drink simply because the employees were impatient and wanted to close early. I have both served and bartended and could not imagine ripping a drink from a patrons hand especially when they were being polite. My friends nor I will ever be returning. Save yourself the time and go somewhere where you are valued as a customer and treated with respect.

From their menu, "All entrees are served with steamed white rice..." I was charged an additional $2 for steamed white rice for a $7.95 entree that was advertised as being served with white rice. When I brought it up to my server he was extremely rude and directed me to the owner who was even more belligerent. This place makes money on underage kids who want cheap drinks. Food is terrible and overpriced. Drinks are cheap and so is the service. Stay away from this unsanitary nightmare.
