Needless to say I am impressed with the food flavor of the stained glass pub. Ever since I was introduced earlier this year and informed that EVERYTHING in the place was good, I stand behind that statement. With that being said, my last few encounters with the customer service has not been pleasing. I feel that there is a need for some type of customer service training class for quite a few employees there, as well as management. To put it simply, I feel as though they may treat patrons who are of a different culture other than Caucasian with disinterest. I ordered two sandwiches for pick up, all while introducing a friend to the restaurant. Once we arrive, we decide to eat in and order another meal while waiting for the pick up order. I informed one of the employees and let him know where we were sitting. Our sit in meal came first as we wondered where our pick up meal was. The place was NOT packed. Upon inquiring about the pick up order, I noticed that it was an hour after the order was placed only to find that one of the sandwiches was incorrect. When I notified one of the servers of the mistake (it was supposed to have cheese and the sandwich was cold by then). The server LITERAALY turned to the chef, the chef put two slices of cheese on it and the server gave the sandwich back to me. I asked for a new sandwich and was told I would have to pay for another one. I asked for the manager and was informed that the manager would say the same about me paying for another. When I explained everything that I just witnessed to the manager, he took the sandwich to the back, had the fish RESTEAMED and had the cheese melted on THE SAME FISH. NO NEW sandwich. Needless to say I am thoroughly displeased with this. I will inform people in the area about the service I received as I feel they need to know.

I stopped here on a whim and was hoping for a good, cold pint. Despite having "pub" in the name of the restaurant, all they have on draft is cheap domestic beer. I was expecting at least a Guinness, but settled for a Sierra Nevada. I noticed right away that my female companion was getting lots of "attention" from the predominantly middle-aged male clientele that filled the bar area. Of course by "attention" I mean they were ogling her from the moment we walked through the door. Anyways, our waiter seemed friendly enough, and after a couple beers we decided to order a medium pie - half pepperoni & mushroom, half chicken & olives. When it arrived I noticed that it was that greasy, wet, skin-flap pizza where the cheese slides off every time you take a bite. The crust, despite being thin, was not crispy, just soggy from all the grease. Yuck! And just when I thought the meal couldnt get worse, the check arrived and we were billed for 3 toppings, instead of 2... Just to recap: we ordered a pizza with two different toppings on each half of the pizza. When I pointed out the mistake my waiter looked at me like I was crazy and said it was "only fair" that they charge for 3 toppings, and that "were lucky" theyre not charging us for 4 toppings! Boy, thats some logic! Needless to say, I would never go back there. But at least Ive been able to warn off my friends before they make the same mistake I did!

Consistently 3 1/2 to 4 Stars. Have visited SGP with friends 5-6 times in approx last 2 months and have always enjoyed it. The most recent about a week before Christmas. A little noisier around the holidays. Clean, well lit, service is pretty fast, and the prices are fairly good. The energy of the place is great--especially around the bar. They have multiple TVs if you wish to keep up with your fav team. Unlike some restaurants Ive been to lately--you wont have to beg staff for help. Wait staff are courteous, personable, and regularly check on your table. Good standard pub-type food. Weve tried 5 of the starters but seem to migrate toward the Jalapeño poppers and Zucchini sticks. The burgers have been very good and multiple toppings are available. If you like blue cheese youll certainly enjoy their Blue Cheese Burger. Their white pizza and regular pizzas are good as well. And the Smothered Steak was perfect comfort food on a cold day. Lots of different/good varieties of beer available. The only problems are not enough parking. And the green beans--ditch the green beans--they were over cooked and mushy. Lastly--bathrooms are very clean.

Long time Silver Spring pub where nostalgia sometimes bridges the gap in service and quality. SGP feels and looks like your neighborhood bar. The decor inside and outside havent been updated in years, and the clientele had the exact same feel. This is a good thing. A place where every one knows youre name is a good thing. Food if affordable and delicious, but can be uneven at times (Ive had wings cooked perfectly as well as fried to within an inch of their lives). SGP does trade in a Maryland style of pan pizza that is most excellent and half priced on Mondays and Tuesdays (there also half priced burgers and a happy hour that starts at 1500, both great deals) Service is also friendly and polite but at times can be inattentive. Dont feel bad about having to flag down a server if theyve forgotten you. If you live nearby make this your watering hole.

This restaurant is located in the Glenmont area of Silver Spring, MD. The Stained Glass Pub is known for their half-price pizza on Mondays. The restaurant is separated into two sections - a family section and a bar section. The pizza is exceptional and always comes to the table piping hot. Wait staff are generally very helpful and friendly with a few exceptions here and there. Outdoor seating is available during appropriate seasons. Parking, however is horrendous and only a handful of cars can fit into the poorly placed lot. An alternate option is parking in the Staples lot across the street and crossing a busy street. The parking situation, coupled with the slightly crammed quarters of the restaurant are what earned this only a 3-star rating. The food = delicious, however...good prices as well. KL

My third time eating here. Waiter almost completely ignored me, no smiles or pleasantries whatsoever. My iced tea remained without refill until a group of ladies sat near me and the waiter brought a trainee over to meet them. She (the trainee) looked over and inquired if I were ok and brought me a refill. When he finally remembered I was there, smile totally disappeared. I had to turn my body around several time to get his attention. I dont get it, the only things this place has going for it are the varied menu and personable staff. Why would you erase one of those for any customer?
