My husband and I drive by this restaurant every single day and have never seen it until we purchased the entertainment book with coupons. We had a coupon for buy one entree get one free, so we decided to use it because we enjoy a good curry. When we walked in, I immediately asked how long it would take to get our food because they were busy, and we had a movie to get to. He told me that the things we were going to order were only 10-15 min, which would have given us a little time to eat something. So , we ordered our food. 25 min. later, we asked if they could just box it up because we had to make it to the movie. They said of course, and they boxed our food. Normal- no biggie. Then, he mentioned that since we were using the coupon, he wasnt going to give us the rice that went with the second (free) entree. I replied that the menu says each curry comes with rice. He told me since we had the free meal, they werent going to give me the rice, but we could buy it. :( sad. The lamb was cooked well, but the curry (we ordered one mild), was very very mild (almost bland), had no salt at all, and my husband ordered spicy, and went to the register to make sure he understood which one was spicy since im pregnant, and he still got mild and saltless. We didnt have time to taste the food before we left because we were in a hurry. Its sad because they could have had us as future customers being so close, but I wont return to a place that would treat their customers like this :(

Saffron Valley does have variety. After checking their reviews out, we headed out for dinner there. Being true-blue Indians (pun intended) we tried the chaat first. Its funny how puris are called poppers, but they were tasty. The golguppe fancily termed as pani poppers were nice, though we thought the meetha sauce lacked a bit of zing. The lovely chicken-65 was cooked in typical Chennai fashion- no regrets there either. The clear winners were the Kebabs. The Salmon kebab tasted fabulous while the chicken kebab was at its best. For mains we had the Three pepper kadai Lamb, Chicken tikka curry, naans and Hyderabadi biryanis. The biryanis could have been more flavorful - but catering to a wide range of Americans as well, we thought they kept the spice down consciously in order to not burn the western tongue. We werent too keen on the Indian desserts, but did end up having a glass of Mango Lassi each -now these, are to die for. Creamy yoghurt and mangoes blended with some sugar and saffron were the perfect end to a good indian meal. Service is ok, good in fact if you want to be left undisturbed and have a good time !

We went there for lunch yesterday for the first time. It was amazing!!!! I am not a huge fan of being experimental with food, but this was absolutely delicious. My favorite was the chicken tikka marsala. Though I didnt quite understand what I was eating the whole time because there were so many new names and flavors, it was all good. I also loved the orange curry with chicken, and the red chicken dish. I didnt try them, but my family all loved the various chutneys as well. Apparently, the mint one was superb. The flavors and blends of spices in every dish are indescribably good. So much flavor, so much variety, it was great. We got the lunch buffet for about $10 per person, and it was well worth every penny. I would highly recommend this for anyone, and I am positive that we will be returning soon.

I went to this place twice with my family. First time the guy who was taking our order giving us additude for no reason. No customer service at all. No greeting nothing at all. Then second time i went there with my whole family and no one cared at all. People sitting next to us. who was American all they care about them and not us. We went there at 9 pm and they told us. they gonna close at 10pm and while i am still eating my food server took my food away ,saying we are closeing in 10 mins.very bad service I will never go there again ,worst food and worst service. I wont recommend this for Indian food.

Ive been there a couple of times and while the service is good the food quality is poor. Vegetables in the curries are canned, not fresh. The mango smoothie was made with frooti instead of mango pulp, and the bhel puri was soggy instead of fresh and crunchy. I can buy better Bhel Puri on a commuter train in India. It is authentic in that the quality of food in India is also often poor. I think a lot of the good reviews are from people who have not eaten Indian food in a long time or have no idea what its supposed to taste like in the first place.

I went in to this place with me five year old son after seeing the Gluten free advertisement. Unluckily my son who has celiac got very sick for the first time ever after eating out.I called the place to talk to the owner and what a courteous owner, when I told her my concern, SHE HUNG UP ON ME. I called back and got the voice mail and left my call back number for her. Well, havent heard a word from her. Overall, I thought it was a great effort but please miss owner if u dont know about something please do not mislead people.

So far I have only been to this place once, but I fully intend to return again soon. All of the food we had was excellent, fresh, and tasty [garlic cheese naan, sweet n nutty naan, puri, dabeli, chicken tikka masala]. My wife and I moved from Houston nearly a year ago and have been trying to find a good Indian food restaurant in the SLC area since then. This is the current front runner, although I am not sure yet if they make good spicy dishes [something lacking in every other SLC Indian restaurant we have visited].

3 Stars because of the worst Dabeli experience here. Do not ever try Dabeli in this restaurant. They literally served me a burger in the name of Dabeli. There were no pomegranates, no masala peanuts, no sev coated on the masala. All they have served was a hard burger bun with a potato patty, some onion and tomato slices with a side of slightly roasted peanuts and some chips. Totally disappointed. On the other hand, I really appreciate their Mysore Masala Dosa, vada, Chutney and Sambar. Worth for the price! Thumbs up!

Always amazing food and service with a smile. The Lunch Buffet is great, the flatbread pizzas are also good. We almost always order paneer Masala or Saag and both are delicious. Weve been coming here, and the Salt Lake location, since they opened. In fact, upon hearing from my husband that I just cant cook Indian food, our server (co-owner?) went to the kitchen and returned with a sack of ingredients. He also gave me hand written instructions on what to do! We dont go anywhere else.

I loved the food, so nice to have a different taste in the valley! I went for a lunch buffet and while it was small, it was worth every penny. Other Indian restaurants Ive been to cost much more for only one entree, this gives you the opportunity to try several items including dessert! Mmmm I could eat there every day! Plus they switch up the buffet menu sometimes so you can try even more! The price is right, the taste rocks, Im totally craving SV now! I hope they never close down!
