Will Not Recommend. I have been there three times. On the first, the dish was not right. Specifically, the onions were not carmelized and there were far too many onions for Matter Panir and it was soupy, runny. On the second time the buffet was excellent including my favorite dish Matter Panir and the garlic bread. On BOTH Occassions I had my service dog with me and there was no trouble. On the third time I was directed to sit outside which I did not want to do. Even though I presented my service dog, a black Labrador, licenses and registration and I explained to him that in America service animals have federal rights to be there and he can not refuse, he refused anyway. That man who refused me service admitted he was in our country illegally. Honestly, I think this place is racist. They do not have a single Caucasian working there and I do not think they like Caucasians. The women who waited upon me previous times also had extreme language difficulties and I think they employ undocumented workers also known as illegal aliens. I informed that man that I would not be back and, even the buffet was quite good, I can not recommend Passage to India. They need to hire people who can legally be here and legally work here. They need to stop being prejudiced against Caucasians and service dogs. In short, the owners and managers of Passage to India need to abide by our laws or close up and leave my country.

The staff is always super friendly and the food is out of this world. I have had Indian food from other places and I hated it, but my wife dragged me to this restaurant about 6 months ago, I did not want to come here because of my bad experiences with the other Indian restaurants and boy I was so happy she took me here. My new favorite restaurant hands down. My favorite dish, which they usually know by now, is the super spicy Vindaloo w/ extra hot sauce with warm and delicious garlic naan. Never have I, and I hopefully never will be, disappointed with Passage to India. 3 thumbs up, 5/5 stars on flavor, service, atmosphere, cleanliness, and price.

New year day lunch was worse.. dont believe the Americans certifying this place, that it serves authentic Indian food..No proper marination to the meat, tasted like bland boiled meat was dumped in gravy.. chicken fish lamb alike, equally bad.. got served chilled gulab jamun first time in my life.. usually its served warm or hot..But the waitress and the waiter are excellent.. both are awesome at their job..But alas they wont make their services worth tip with food being that bad.. also onion pakora had oil enough to last for a week, if squeezed out..

I was there Tuesday night. It was a ghost town so I expected terrible food. Boy was I wrong. Chicken tiki masala was fantastic! Ive been to India restaurants that are a packed house every night and charge $25 for an entrée. This was equally as good and paid $15. So, food was fantastic but because myself and one other Indian family were the only ones in there the atmosphere was awkward silence with Mexican music.. why not authentic Indian??? Anyway the food was great the atmosphere sucked.

I eat here frequently and have found everything to be very flavorful. Although to note, I have only ever ordered off of the dinner menu and have never done the buffet. They are always willing to get the spice level right for you when food is cooked to order. They also have some good beers on top and have good prices. Portions are good too and usually end up bringing leftovers home. Southern Biryani, Tikka, Palak Paneer, and Samosas are some favorites.

Great dining experience more often than not. Nice decor, great food if youre just looking for something filling spicy and flavorful. As others have mentioned, there are some traditional dishes that are way off base, but not stuff Id normally order at a restaurant. Sticking to those items, youll get great tasting meals cooked well every time. Service staff are attentive and friendly, and arent a rotating door which is great to see.

Food was pretty good, Naan bread was amazing! The server/ host checked in on us numerous times which is great service. And they were so friendly. Only reason not 5 stars is the bathrooms look like a gas station bathroom. Seems very old, outdated, unsanitary and creepy. Also the blinds at the table were very old/ dusty with dead flies/lint on the window seal. But other than that it was a good experience.

One of the best Indian buffet lunches in town with legendary naan. Nice room, great staff. However, I hate to report the live cockroach lurking on one of the buffet food tables on our last visit in November. Im not giving up on them and will go back in a week or two hoping it was an isolated incident and they have taken the steps to get rid of their unwanted guests.

Had the Southern style biryani off the buffet. It was pretty good. The only Indian restaurant that states in the menu and provides Northern Style AND Southern Style biryani. So we have to go back and try it again. Chicken Tikka Masala was good as well and so was the veggie pakora. Did not like the cold gulab jamun. Rather have it warm. Would try again.

Of all the Indian resturants I have been to over the years, this is the best so far. There has been nothing on the menu that I havent loved. In the past I have noticed, I end up finding a menu item or two I love and sticking with it. But here I always want to try something new. It is consistently amazing and I tell everyone I know to go here.

Well my girlfriend LOVES Indian food and she will go nowhere else. She loves the buffet and we have had dinner there once. She says its amazing! Im a meet eater so I go after all the chicken regardless of flavor. Service is always great and friendly! Its a buffet, how much service do you need? Keep my soda full.... headed there today!

We have ordered takeaway regularly since it opened in 2014 and the menu is consistently solid. We always get the chana masala, bhindi masala, and Chicken 65 and then we rotate in other favourites. Dont miss the peshwari naan--great with fried banana on it in the morning! Definitely one of our go-to restaurants.

Worst Indian lunch buffet in Tempe ! Rice dishes on the buffet was dry and needle like. Only one type of starter and desert. No south indian. Garlic naan was good. Buffet variety is less compared to other restaurants nearby. First restaurant to serve me cold gulab jamums - yuck, i didnt like it

One of my favorite places for Indian Food, never packed which I enjoy and the service is great! I love the Chicken Korma! Highly recommend, have not had a bad experience yet. Found this placed in Dec 2016 and have been a returning customer ever since.

I am a regular here. I love the food. Its one of the few places in AZ where you get real hot food when you ask for it! Service is always fast, and it is polite and calm here. Bar service is prompt and the food is amazing. Highly recommended!
