Very good - above average - we have travelled to India - often enjoy Indian food in UK and here locally. This restaurant should appeal to sophisticated diners who have some experience with Indian cuisine, as well as those new to Indian food. We (party of 5) found the food to be tasty, well prepared, fresh, and as spicy (or not) as you may like it. The flavors were authentic. The selection was good with a nice blend of the standard favorites as well as some interesting specialties. The service was very good - cordial, helpful and professional. The ambient is upscale to slightly elegant - perfect for savoring the food and enjoying a quiet conversation without annoying distractions. Slightly pricy (entrees perhaps a dollar to three dollars more than prevailing), but not so very, given the locale and the ambient - This is a cut above the (also good) competing Indian restaurants in North Phoenix/ Scottsdale - Recommended

The Best Indian in Scottsdale hands down ! We live around the corner and eat here weekly sometimes more than once .. That being said we would drive 30-40 mins if necessary to enjoy the incredibly delightful cuisine .. The staff is courteous and kind .. What you can expect is cleanliness, high quality ingredients and consistency. Well worth the money. The shrimp pakora appetizer , Fish Karahi , chicken Karahi , paneer (cheese) tiki masala are just some of my families favorites . Try the Naan bread (cashmere is a specialty Indian friends turned us into not on the menu) and the Garlic Naan .. My business associate is from India and always asks to eat here.. Is there any better validation of its quality ? We love Al Hamra ..

Food is tasty and good quality. Very Pricy though but these days hard to get good quality tasty food even with money so good job. I go there to treat myself with good meal once in a while. Ambience is quiet and good in a way. They have white cloth on table and decent metal and ceramic cuttlery. Choose spice level right though. 7 is just above hot for me. And I am Indian. And yeah like other reviews, service is not bad but they are like robots. Hahaha. Feels home though, better than having artificial grin like in some restaurants.

The food was very good, but it was very expensive (probably due to the high rent district). The decor was nice and upscale for an Indian place . . . actually nice enough for a date night. The staff was also very friendly. For us we probably wont go back too often because of distance and price, yet if you live close the food it good.

The food is great, but the service is awful. The waiter told my husband that his napkin goes in his lap, told him to read the menu, and then suggested our 5 year old have a glass of wine. The food is good, but not good enough to outweigh the fact that the waiter is a jerk.

I tried this restaurant for the first time last week - it was excellent. Great taste, large portions, good service. The other patrons also seemed happy with their meals. MUCH different than the "1-star" and "2-star" ratings that I saw posted.

The food is now average. It used to be much better before. Maybe the chef changed. Also the place is too expensive. If you want a better meal and a more economical price try curry corner instead.

Very costly average tasting food with one attendent who does all (orders, serving bartending etc - poor guy.) So go at 6 to eat at 9.
