Soapbox time: A woman in her senior years was our server and did her absolute best to provide great, friendly service. She appeared to be the only employee other than a rude, loudmouth cook in the kitchen who was unkind to the server. Because there was a table sat within a minute of our arrival who dominated the servers time, two prior tables already eating and an additional two tables sat after, all of whom were being served by this one server, my son and I didnt receive our meals until 45 minutes after arriving. In that time one of the new tables got up and walked out. Our server felt terrible, you could see it on her face. Apparently there was someone else in the kitchen that should have been out working the dining room because when our server asked her to come out and help with the new tables, the cook (the rude loudmouth) said loudly that it was better for us, the customers to wait on her (our server) and not on our food. Yep everyone in the dining room heard her rebuke. The last table sat were regulars and the mom walked her baby, to keep her quiet over to the other side of the restaurant where she saw the manager and another server sitting back, relaxing and shooting the breeze drinking sodas. She said something to them, came back to her table and the manager came out when another customer came in. She sat him, got him a water and then went back behind the screen and asked our server if she still needed her help. It was said with just a little too much sugar to be a sincere question. Our server, sounding appropriately cowed, replied no. The manager walked back and sat back down. It was at this point that our meals came out. I felt terrible that everyone working at the restaurant was talking with so much contempt to this woman. A woman that was in truth probably working at her age when most others of a similar age are retired, not because she wanted to, but because she had to. This woman that had likely been working for more years than the young, snide manager had been alive. In my mid 40s, I worked as a server in my early 20s so my wife could be a stay-at-home mom with our newborn daughter. Because it can be such a thankless job decided I didnt want to do it again. I have worked in the medical insurance and banking industries for the past 10 years in management positions so I havent lost touch with customer service. I choose to believe that no one wakes up in the morning and thinks "I want to give bad service". Most everyone wants to do a good job and have some sense of job satisfaction to justify the time spent away from family and home. Its been 2 months since the evening that this happened but it continues to affect me. I think that choosing to believe in the good of people is the way we should treat each other. No one is better than anyone else. We have a conscious decision to make each day, whether someone is good or bad, or just having a bad day. Who hasnt had a bad day? We havent been back since that evening but I will probably go back just to check in on our server. I feel that IHOP should invest in some sensitivity training for management down to their entry level positions. No one should be subject to that level of disrespect. As ELLEN says, "Be kind to one another"

When I need a quick meal served to the table or a complete breakfast I normally go to Dennys, mainly because there is one just around the corner from my house, but this time I decided to go to Ihop to try something different... what a mistake. First, they gave me a dirty cup (not a little dirty, disgustingly stained with something brown), and later again, a dirty plate... I didnt even wanted to think what was under the plates with food in them. Second, my partner was served a plate of soup and it looked like the whole thing had been dipped in it. It was dripping. Third, the entries where small (the lousiest stake plate Ive ever had) and it cost me a whopping $16. Plus they did not bring the vegetables we asked for because they were out of almost everything at 12 pm (no lemon chicken and no broccoli). And finally, we were not the only ones having a bad service, because we could hear the manager yelling at people in the back because they were not cooking and serving the food the way people asked. Incredible! My resolution, I am not going again to an Ihop EVER again.

DISGUSTING ROTTEN FOOD!!! I ordered the crepes with fresh fruit. The fruit was VERY overripe to the point of mush. My husband ordered the bacon and egg burger. The lettuce on the burger was BLACK AND ROTTEN!!! We did not ask for the meal to be comped on a courtesy we were using a buy one get one free, but I wish I would have now! When I went to check out and pay for the meal (WHICH WAS $20 after the BOGO for two plates!!) I asked for the managers name and number. The person who checked me out began questioning if it was about the "lettuce". I said yes, which she then began to argue with me about how when lettuce is put on a hamburger patty it looks like that. My husband is a produce manager of 12+ years and he knows what rotten food looks like. Not to mention this person did not even see the lettuce, our server did. I told her I would not call the manager if any one of the employees in the restaraunt would go and eat it to make a point. IHOP should be ashamed for their standard of food and service!! SHAME ON YOU IHOP!!!!!

Not sure if its the place or that the server was new, but training is the #1 priority! I saw the other reviews close to the date of my visit, so Im guessing its more than being the newbie. We were seated and waited for 15 mins for anyone to stop by and offer us drinks. Once we did order, it took 30 mins for the food to come out, no exaggeration. Food was lukewarm :/ While dining we had to ask for refills and anything else as her 2 min check back or ANY check back was nonexistent. We had to point out our glasses were empty before getting any refills. Unfortunately I also waited so long to point out something was wrong with my food that I asked another waitress who, no lie, came out with my new food FOUR mins later, AND it was hot! We complimented her (Trina), attentiveness. We spoke to a manager and recommended she get trained. Another guy came out to follow up, by then wed said all we needed to. The first guy came back and offered a few coupons.

We ordered 3 take out orders over the phone and when I showed up to pick up my food, no workers were to be found. I waited 15 minutes and decided to just start yelling for someone. So I yelled for someone to come help me and finally someone came out of the kitchen area. After they gave me my food I noticed that all 3 orders were wrong. So they fixed each order, which took another 15 min. Then I got my order, took it to my co workers and realized that we were missing a coffee from one order. So my co worker isnt very happy that It took me a half hour to get the food, come back and the food ends up being cold and now they forgot the coffee. Their customer service is beyond terrible. Even the manager was rude and had a terrible attitude. I am very disappointed and will let everyone I know how terrible your service is.
